Looks amazing! I’m about to try this at my house and the only question I have is how much higher did you make the seat from the base?
Thank you! What I did was purchase the bins I liked, saw they where were 12 inches tall, then cut the support 2x4 pieces 12.5 inches long. If your baskets are shorter or taller you can adjust the support beams to make a custom snug fit. Then I just repeated the same structure on top. Mine turned out being 21 inches in total from floor to seat and it feels like a very comfortable height to sit on. Yours can be a bit shorter or higher depending on the size bins u have.

Thank you so much!!! It’s funny how we started with the kitchen, changing the sink, faucet, countertops, and backsplash, but stopped to do the stairs and floors. Now Jim changed his mind about painting them white. He doesn’t have the vision I do. So it will take me some time to get him back on board. I can’t wait until the kitchen cabinets are done 😆😆😆

We are both so tired of renos but want our home to be our style and have function, so we are torn lol. We still have so many Landry room cabinets in our garage to put together and hand up 🥴

It changes the look and feel so much! So worth it!!! Especially cause we have another closet and a small hallway tree in our laundry room to dump our stuff and can keep this neat for guests and all of our shoes, gloves, hats, and scarves are hidden in the boxes.

This is perfect for my new house. We have an empty area that looks like a closet. The previous owner kept their tv in it but this would be so much better.
It looks beautiful. I would love to see it as you use it rather than how it is staged.
That’s the way it looks all the time. We use the bins at the bottom and top for storage but our jackets and shoes are in our laundry room closet that has access to our garage door. This stays pretty by our front door and when guests come over they place their jackets on the hooks and purses on the bench.

This is exactly what I want to do to my spare bedroom closet. It's a double and a lot of wasted space to I want to do this on one side and then hang a sliding barn door;

We didn’t use any power tools other than a drill. This was our first diy project so we didn’t have anything.

This is probably a silly question, but did you sand the base and bench? Assuming this is plywood?
Great question! At first I thought I didn’t need too cause it wouldn’t be seen but then I realized my fabric bins would get caught on the plywood when sliding them in and out. So I had to give it a quick sanding.

The closet was actually my project. Thankfully my husband was able to help sometimes when he wasn’t at work. I can understand your thoughts because when I stopped to film updates it only showed him working. Mostly cause I’m insecure about my weight

it looks good but not really a storage solution! And, the wood knots will all show eventually without primer painting.
This has lots of storage in the bins but it’s mainly for decor and guest jackets. It brings a ton of character to the house rather than just closet doors like every other house. We have a laundry room with a coat closet and garage door entrance for us. The paint we used had primer in it.

This is just for decor and a place to sit and put shoes. We keep all our jackets in the closet of our laundry room cause it’s connected to the garage. We use the garage door to come and go. The front door is more for guests and that’s where they can place their purse and jacket while they are visiting. It works well
