We have had this bench ruclips.net/user/postUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg for five years now and it is still holding up strong with minimal signs of wear! So much so that I decided to get another one to store other stuff. The first one is still beautiful, strong and is easy to clean. It’s been in our living room and we store toys and blankets in it and it really holds quite a bit of stuff. I purchased a similar one two years ago from Aldi and let me tell you that one fell apart in less than six months of use. Get this one if you’re looking. Seriously worth it. Five years already and I can’t believe it looks this good and has held up for the price! Awesome bench, the new one I just got is identical.
This was one of the best DIY mud room tutorials I’ve seen. Thank you so much for sharing this detailed video. I will save it and reference it when I build mine.😊
That looks so nice! After the boards are all on how do you get ahold of the boards that are removable? Is there still room to grab it? What a good idea!
Why did you add the second layer on the bench? The part you described as building up a dado. Was this for side to side strength? Up and down bench strength? Thanks in advance.
Hi great video!!! but I have a question regarding another of your videos The table with de hidden wireless charger. How you managed to keep de battery always on? So if you press the on button the battery stay always on? For example you charge the phone in the table one day and didn't use the table to charge the phone for example in two (2) days, when you place the phone on the table again the battery charge the phone? or you need to turn on the battery?
Thank you, I really appreciate it 😃 I think the battery stays on but now that you mention it, I will have to double check. If I would have to press the button on the side, it really wouldn’t be too difficult. Another step, but not terrible lol
There is a 1/2” back panel on the cubbies, so I just screwed threw that to attach to the wall. Then I covered that up with the wooden slats. Also put a couple screws in threw the side panels and patched the screw holes and touched up the paint. Come to think of it, I’m not sure why I didn’t show more of this process in the video… lol
1 1/4" pocket hole screws - I just added a link to them in the video description 😃 The other screws were for attaching the back panel to the upper cubbies (1 1/4") and for attaching the upper cubbies to the wall (2 1/2")
Not necessarily the Kreg brand pocket hole screws, but I would suggest using something similar to a pocket hole screw - they have a flat bottom on the head of the screw that won’t split the wood when it bottoms out. Others screws without a flat bottom are more prone to splitting the wood. Hope that helps!
Sorry I just have loads of questions cause I’m trying to build this next week lol. Is there something cheaper i can use to remove the bottom trim where the bench will sit instead of using the multi- tool?

I'm so glad it was helpful!! I appreciate the kind feedback as well! Good luck with your project!
Very nice! You did a great job and gave me some great ideas...
Awesome! Thank you!
LOVED LOVED LOVED the video. Awesome job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much 😃
Turned out great!
Thank you! 😃

Thanks!
This looks amazing. Great job.
Thank you so much! 😃

This looks great, good job. I am curious where you moved your washer and dryer though? Did you also have to move the connections to a new place?
Thank you!
I moved the washer and dryer downstairs, almost directly below. I did have to run new connections in the basement to hook them up.
A nice job. But personally I would have capped the water and gas lines before covering them up.
Thanks! I went back and capped the drain once the p trap dried up 🤢
The gas line was disconnected.
Why did you add the second layer on the bench? The part you described as building up a dado. Was this for side to side strength? Up and down bench strength? Thanks in advance.
It probably helps a little with side to side strength, but mostly so that the top didn't feel flimsy when sat on.
I’m going to try and recreate the bench portion of this for my mudroom. Out of curiosity, what is the depth of your bench?
It’s approximately 18” deep. Good luck with the build!
Nice work...but what still amazes me is WHY so many DO IT YOURSELFERS .....STILL DON’T USE PROTECTIVE EYE WEAR ....ESPECIALLY USING A BRAD NAILER !!!!
Did you attach the bench to the wall at all?
You could have converted those three pieces to mm. 1739.9/3= 579.9
😁

How you managed to keep de battery
always on? So if you press the on button

Thanks for your response
No problem!
Did you put side screws on the bench to attach to the walls? Or was it tight enough?
It was tight enough! Lol but some side screws wouldn’t hurt
How did you attach the top cubby to the wall?
There is a 1/2” back panel on the cubbies, so I just screwed threw that to attach to the wall. Then I covered that up with the wooden slats. Also put a couple screws in threw the side panels and patched the screw holes and touched up the paint.

@@DoingWhatever thank you!
what is the height of the bench from the floor?
18”
What was your length of screw for the pocket holes? and where did you use the second screw length (noticed you have two lengths in your tool list).
1 1/4" pocket hole screws - I just added a link to them in the video description 😃
The other screws were for attaching the back panel to the upper cubbies (1 1/4") and for attaching the upper cubbies to the wall (2 1/2")
@@DoingWhatever Also, do I need to specifically use pocket hole screws when using a kreg pocket hole jig?
Not necessarily the Kreg brand pocket hole screws, but I would suggest using something similar to a pocket hole screw - they have a flat bottom on the head of the screw that won’t split the wood when it bottoms out. Others screws without a flat bottom are more prone to splitting the wood. Hope that helps!

This would have been much more valuable a a normal speed
huh?
Definitely didn't need to be almost 20 minutes long
