You right, Bun Cha is one of the "must eat" food in Vietnam and this dish is famous with Vietnamese people but she got it wrong because she is a southern girl. Obama's visit just make Bun Cha more popular with foreign people. With Vietnamese people, just the restaurant that Obama ate become more popular, not the food because it's a famous food already.

Bu'n cha? already very popular dish in North VietNam for many many many years. I LOVE bu'n o^'c. I used to live in Florida and ate a lot of o^'c (snails) , so so good. Florida supply a lot of o^'c to California and other states (farm-raised snails), especially to Vietnamese supermarket. Thank you for another great video! :)

Small note: "Fake dog meat" is not totally accurate imo, though it's literally the direct translation of the dish's name :D It's pork feet and you cook them using spices and herbs that usually go with dog meat, like citronella, alpinia, ginger, etc..., hence the name "fake dog meat" since it somehow taste the same.
Hahaha, that doesn't sound bad at all. I mean if you say "pig's trotters with citronella and ginger" it sounds good. "fake dog meat" makes it sound even worse than dog meat. Like what you would eat if you were too poor to even afford to eat dog.
TRUE FACT: I just got back from the Tsung Moi Tan Dan Buddhist Monestary (don't Google it, it's too secret) where I spent 5 years learning the secrets to this thin fabric we call the physical universe. I was sworn to secrecy obviously, but I can tell you this: The very first thing I did got back home with this transcendant knowledge, even before calling my grandma, was going on Patreon and becoming one Sonny's patrons. Coincidence? I think not.
I've watched this episode before, and I still had to stop several times to make a sandwich.... I like these dishes, which are a little rare in the states. How I dream of walking down that street! Or any street like it, really. The first time I ever got shrimp sauce with something here (in Jacksonville), the people were kind of apologizing in advance, saying "Well, it's challenging, but it really makes the dish, you should at least try it". And I really appreciate and remember them, but it still looks like a treat to just almost walk into the kitchen as you're doing there, it looks like there's no hiding that there's something stinky being served. The gizzards are the muscle by the crop. I'm sure someone else mentioned that somewhere else. I love them. I've had them Since I was little and I'm American. I think all cultures eat them.

That sauce is consist of fish sauce, garlic and ginger. The ginger is to balance out the gamy of the duck. Great show as always, love me some of those delish noodles.
