Can't believe Chris, i'm long time your viewer, I'm from Croatia, hope to see you again in Europe and Croatia. Yes, everything is slower here but it comes at a "cost", lower paychecks, can't have both. All the best.

Hey Chris trust me young and ambitious people are trying to move to America. When you run out of ambition and want to retire you can move to Europe. Coming from a student in Europe.

Where in Europe? In the Nordic countries we got free universal education and healthcare. Why would I want to move to a country where falling ill could bankrupt me, and I'd have to pay a hundred thousand or more to educate my children.

    Hello Chris!
You were spot on with the comparison. As other people have said, the slower pace of things here comes at a cost of lower compensation, less opportunities and a fear of change. This can translate to different kinds of challenges when wanting to break into the software development industry.
On another note, if you haven't sated your thirst for traveling to Europe yet, I recommend Romania, especially Brasov and Cluj-Napoca.
This time of year you'll see in the city center a lot of colorful and interesting performances based on Romanian folklore, like dancing bears and gold-hearted bandits.

You should visit Nordic countries. Europe is very diverse, and your experience will be completely different based on the country and location. Finland for example is quite different from Scandinavia culturally and linguistically, altough all Nordic countries are technologically advanced and have strong public infrastructure.

I was born in the EU(SSR) and I fled that socialist hellhole, 90% of the people there, they do subscribe to that socialist school of thought. So I moved to North-Africa. If you like small talk and skipping the serious subjects during conversations, you sure have a good time in the EU. But that's like living in la-la land. And due to the real-estate madness and the large number of astray boomers (who are responsible for this mess), I would neither want to live in the US nor the EU.

Hi Chris, I am from Europe and and your videos provide a nice insight into everyday America because you are open and keep it real.
The US is the obvious winner when it comes to the economy, this is also unlikely to chance with the aging eu population. Im in the Netherlands, which is one of wealthier eu countries but still the us salaries are 2x higher. However, on my current income im able to travel 3-4 times a year, whereas in the us I would likely not have enough vacation to do that.
Still I would like experience the american way of life for a while, if I ever get the chance (work visa is a pain).
Btw, climate change has made the weather in North western europe even worse. Instead of a little snow we just get non-stop rain and overcast.
Anyway, hope you keep posting these irl videos! Have a nice 2024!

I'm going to Europe for the first time this spring -- I'm older than you. Lisbon (with a trip to Sintra) is my destination, either for 2 weeks or 1 month. I dated a woman from France many years ago, and she warned me back then if I visit Europe I won't want to leave. That's what I fear. I've been living in Texas to make money, though I'm from Maine (which I miss.) But I don't want to be rich, just rich enough. I wish it would be easy for me not to return from Portugal, but it's not as easy as I hoped.

Chris, you should have announced that you were coming to Croatia. I read that you have more of Croatian viewers and I am another one from Croatia.
By the way, the vast majority of us love the USA and know the political situation.

If you ever decide to go back to Europe for your next trip. I highly recommend going to Italy. First recommendation in Italy I would have to say Florence. The best small city you can ever visit and 1 hour away is Tuscany.

Europe may feel cheap && relaxed now BUT it is 100% in perpetual decline when it comes to opportunities and standards of living UNLESS they immediately address key issues such as over-regulation (inhibits opportunities) and mass, forced migration of the Earth's lowest IQs into it (erodes standards of living in various ways) ... the medium to long-term answer to leaving America ISN'T Europe sadly

Croatia really does not reprensent whole Europe in terms of people/food/technologies. Country is under developed technologically compared to Nordic/East Europe side. Food is also pretty low quality and not that tasteful. But as you have mentioned, super beautiful country. Pace of living is also slow compared to more developed contries. Overall we love to visit Crotia for holidays but living there would be difficult.

Apart from the nature, idk why one would want to live as normie in US. The economy is ponzee-scheme and the original idea about freedom is gone and everything is regulated.
You can be developer in Europe and start from scratch too.

    • @taterrhead
      @taterrhead 8 месяцев назад

you do realize Europe is 1000x more regulated and is in perpetual decline as far as opportunities largely because of it? (and costs will now perpetually rise as mass, forced migration of the lowest IQs on earth + cut-off from cheap && plentiful Russian fuels)
