I don't know about the other comments but what I feel like is there's a lack of proper explanation in this lecture series. I am posting this comment on 8th May 2020 i.e almost after 10 years of the release of this video. Maybe this type of teaching style is quite outdated as I feel. I think that the NPTEL team should bring a new course on RCC with a teaching style that is suitable for the present and next 5 years. And of course no offence to the professor and anyone. PEACE
Around 24:30 minutes. Sir you provided the formulas for modular ratio. In first formula the 'm' is unitless but in second formula it is having units. Please correct me if am wrong.
Loool. He doesn't even care to explain where the formula come from or how are the values given in the code decided. Just memorise a bunch of formula and plug them to get the answers without any understanding of what you just did. So glad I did my engineering in Australia.

The lecture was very helpful for me thanks sir
20:53 we assume that only steel reinforcement carries tension, then why take entire area of concrete to calcualte tensile stress
its so useful sir hats off to u
@32:23 can anyone tell in detail why width b take

Can u provide basic lecture for doubly reinforced concrete
Sir what will be the value for fe500
how to get the values. please provide the formula in the comment.
what is that value 280 used in modular ratio formula??
It is constant value..
@@RaviKumar-oj9ot any derivations or references for how it's arrived?
thank you i had been benefit but i want adding defrance example
pls increase the volume
thank you very very very very much sir god bless you sir
If P is Percentage of steel then it must be multiplied by 100 and we get 50 instead of 1/2
Where are you today .. just curiosity😀

It is really waste of time...He is not explaining anything..I can't believe whether he is an IIT Professor🤷♂️
How
hats off to u
HOW CAN WE GET THE VALUE OF TENSIE STRESS IN CONCRETE..........
(tensile stress in steel)/m
ganesh sujatha It is directly taken from IS 456:2000 Page No:80 Annexure B-2.2.2(d)
I NEED THAT MODULAR RATIO EXPLAINTION TO GET THE VALUE AS 280/3PERMISIBLE STREE IN CONCRETE
