Can I just put in the fact of how much I appreciate Woody for using his bed covers as his backgrounds in his videos 😂😂 also can't wait to march scouts this summer!
I wanna thank you for these guides your putting out!!! Myself and a few other buds are thinking of auditioning for The Academy this coming fall, and we’re training for audition tapes along side our current high school season. March on!!!
Hey dude thanks, Ive been really interested in DCI and marching in them, but payment has always been a sticking point (besides getting in that is) but this makes me feel better about it! Thank you!
My biggest thing to tell new marchers is to plan LONG IN ADVANCE. The first drum corps I auditioned for was revolution in 2012. I made the last minute decision to go as they really needed members. I got a contract and never went again due to not having the funds. I made a effort to audition again and actually pay this time. I got a summer job asked people , did my research on my corps fees and I did it. I was able to march 2 years with genesis DBC. So plan long in advance. Is my big thing. Yeah some people got lucky because members left or got injured and they got a free spot but don’t count on it.
Thank you so much. This was my biggest dream I had since I was 8 years old and I've worked very hard for it, however money has always been my virus to reaching that goal and I don't have any financial support but myself.
Thank you so much for your video! Money is the main draw from me wanting to pursue dci, but this video made an incredible dream a more obtainable reality. Thanks woody!!!
I’ve been getting into the dci some much more this year and I’m just trying to see what I can do so I can get a head start of what I need to do and you have been helping me a lot and just want to say thank you
Thank you for making this video man! I'm with the Spartans this summer, but I'm auditioning for either Carolina Crown or the Boston Crusaders contra line in the fall. It's definitely gonna be a big adjustment and a ton more money if I make either corps. I grew up around Boston, my mum marched there in '95, '96, and '97, and I've always been a massive Crown fan and it'd be absolutely amazing to play with them.
Austin Armstrong thanks man! I don't know if we're gonna cross paths this summer, but if I see you I'll try to say hi. I saw you guys in Lawrence, MA last year and you all sounded and looked great btw!
It depends what type of corp you are auditioning for. for instance, lets say you've marched high school marching band for 3-4 years, your chances of getting into an open class corp is pretty high. but some corps do call backs (which is the second part of the auditions). also your chances are quite higher than any other auditioners because corps need more trumpets than any other brass! good luck in the future!
For world class this year it looks like around 3000-4000. Open class is general cheaper but i havent looked into the pricing for that, if you know where you want to march they probably have it on there website, if not try emailing one of the staff, theyll be glad to tell you about the price and different payment plans
All I know is that California got it easy. Probably Golden Empire if your from Cali a fairly new drum corp from Bakersfield ca others are probably like pacific crest, Gold, etc. It’s up to you like this guy says.

I needed a change of scenery! ;) haha
Vlogging 101 😆
Can't wait to experience the tradition of my new found family to be honest
LMAO I just realized i have the same cover as him
I totally forgot about scholarships until now...
That’s why I mentioned it! They go unnoticed by most! So much free money just waiting for someone to take it!

It’s good to have someone on the field to look up to when researching dci

Frank Deleon we'll probably run into each other in Indy
How hard is the audition specifically for trumpet? Do many people get a contract at the first audition?

Corporation
I want to March as soon as possible. But have to afford it and I am too young
Thanks man I appreciate it cause its a question I've had for a while.
As a woodwind play what would be the easiest brass instrument to learn for dci?
mello
baritone
This took a little weight off my shoulders.... just a little haha
Yo i have the same bed cover
Very well explained, thanks!
THANK YOU FOR THIS
You just went up a whole point by getting that beard. If you Gymmax you'll be a pretty attractive guy.
How can I find the scholarships I don’t see them on the dci page
Would u have to pay for each camp if u get called back?
I have respect for the Scouts!
Hye Austin I am Andrew from Malaysia. May i take your contact ? And personal messages you.
How much is it to get into a core like a general range for them

what’s the best core for a freshman in high school?
You are young yet. I can’t answer what Corps is best for you because you are the only YOU. Do research and really find a family to march with.
Find a corps that fits your personality

Do an open class core.
How would you be able to contact alumni as a rookie?
When you say sponsors do you mean like local businesses?
Girl... does she know tho?
