Merry Christmas. I don't know about anyone else, but my weapons have started going right through mobs the past couple of days. Stand right in front of a mob, swing my weapon, and it doesn't connect. I haven't PvP'd because I'm hanging with family, so if anyone has had the issue in PvP, post about it.
Its crazy that all these people are complaining so much.. its a game paid for one time thats prolly provided hundreds of hours. Be grateful. Your complaints arnt unique to this game... atleast this one will get you your moneies worth in entertainment. Cry babies..
As someone who’s played up to rank 70 in PvP and now has close to 400 hours on the game all on Controller only. I don’t think aim assist is fully necessary I think if its added it should only be applied to certain weapons and it should not be added to fire staff AT ALL the weapon is thumbless enough and takes minimal effort.
I've got 900 hours, rank 52 and play abyss/fs. I don't see how they could put aim assist on the fs without it being way better then the mouse. You have to account for distance, timing, location all in a split second. I have gotten pretty good at seeing people's run, attack, and dodge patterns to know when and where to shoot but I still miss.
People shouldn't be worried about Aim Assist, a billion other PvP games have done it, all comes down to implementation. But do expect it to be OP until they tinker with it.
They should be. I play online shooters almost exclusively, and devs always over-tune assist. Maybe it’ll be different with how NW plays, but why not just give everyone assist then? There’s so many variables with latency, lag comp, and frame stuttering that it could even out those issues a bit.
I don't think OP is an issue in this game because each player can wield 2 weapons and swap to them during battle. If range with aim assist is OP, then smart players will play range when they are a distance away from enemy (stupid player can only blame themselves for sticking to melee). So the game will start with both side engaging in pure range attack for a start until one side is weakened and the stronger side start to advance into the opponent's rank. When they close the distance, players can switch to melee weapon and play melee battle. This is what REAL warfare is about. IT is just being realistic. Nobody just charge in with close distance melee at the start. Even in modern warfare, heavily armored tank don't just charge in but artillery will fire their salvo and when the enemy positions are softened, then the melee guy (tanks plus infantry) will charge in. The worst that they can do (which is the choice which they will make given what we see in the game already) is to nerf the aim assist range attack and make it so pointless that the melee players can disregard range attack and batantly walk in to battle field and start hammering range opponent as if they are not there. Range attack need to be respected and given the OP so that melee player cannot close the distance (which is the killer for range players) at will. That is how you level the playing field and melee player will complain about range OP because they are pampered all these while with their melee OP ironically able to take out range players easily just facerolling on their keyboard.
I don’t get the last question. What else do we expect after an expansion other than the next expansion? Thats the point in the expansion is to do the stuff they added and then wait for the next expansion to add more stuff rinse and repeat for like ever game
For the winter warrior event i don't understand why they can't use the random ice caves with that ice troll thing inside (probably the original model for the winter warrior anyway) and just have those as an added step in the event where people can get like half a spike shard let's say and then you combine the 2 (or 4 if fragments) and then you get 1 full spike to hand in. That way people aren't left out trying to kill the big warrior only to be standing there with a thumb up the ass (hopefully asked with consent) because no one is around. Event Boss = dark matter and spikes, Cave Trolls = shards/fragments only (limited amount to turn in)

No, they said there is aim assist in pvp, but no "lock-on". So yeah it's gonna be a big issue in PVP. Look at other games that added controller support with aim assist.... look at apex legends. It completely ruins the integrity of the pvp and you'll either convert to controller play, or use a virtual controller software on your pc, to trick the servers to give you aim assist....
adding aim assist to controllers in pvp is a bad idea. why even bother having aiming and skill based gameplay when you’re just going to give out aim bot to anyone on a controller, pretty much. I know they want to expand the reach of the game to consoles and so on but if they do cross platform they can’t give out aim assist. it should be mouse/keyboard vs. mouse/keyboard and controller vs controller. cross play with aim assist is going to hurt more than help, this games pve is not its strong suit and now the pvp is gonna be even less balanced so it’s gonna be a “rip bozo” if they add this assist in pvp.
So if I have 80% hs rate with bow I get bumped to 100% with aim assist, shit’s gonna be crazy when everyone will hit headshots with bow and muskets. It will be console only?
Once again these dev boggle me with their thinking. Now they created another publicity mess angering some group of players (controller vs keyboard camp, melee vs range camp etc) with their public announcement of aim assist. There are more than one way to skin the cat and they chose the worst one. What they can do is to increase the of range attack and that will serve the same purpose. And they can do this stealthily in the background without going public and increasing hit-box size is just a matter of changing their coding parameters without needing to spend another extra 1-2 seasons of massive development effort to implement aim assist for controller. Seriously.
IF they don't do much until the next expansion... I'm not so sure that many people will bother buying it. This actual content included in this expansion was very sparse. I'm curious how many people actually do the Worm raid... my guess is most haven't done it... I won't be too surprised if the upcoming 10 man raid is a bit of a flop either.

GS is overpowered in both, pve and pvp - if you can't see that, then logical question - "Do you even play the game?! Same applies to the FS. Developers simple do not play the game and do not understand ending balance in PVP
Naj, GS is very good in pve but in pvp it's probably maybe 3rd best melee weapon, SNS and Spear is just stronger, I am not saying Serenity isn't strong, it's just probably third, and the best melee artifact

@@WhoFlungDung try gw2, the base game(extended tutorial, basically) is entirely free and the combat is much more complex than new world's with a much higher skill curve. You can join PvP Lobby and fight with everyone as soon as you hit level 2.

BUT the players are so loud about they want everything first day, they want bis from every chest and every source that they developers gave you that. There's no farming, grind or anything like that. It's part of mmo. Not this one. You literally get bis for free. For no effort at all. You can run through the content in a day. The made the game so easy that the hardest content is soloable! So there's content, the game got so easy that you don't have to do it or if you have to or you just wanna do it, you can do it in no time. They could release an expension every single week and that content would be the amount that you can easily do as a casual due to the easiness of the game..
I’ve played competitive console games with aim assist for 15 years before I finally got a gaming PC with mouse and keyboard. I cannot understand how gamers with a mouse get concerned that a controller will have a competitive advantage.
Just pluck in your game controller into your PC and play with controller when you need aim assist. Switch back to keyboard/mouse when you don't. You have the best of both world.

The issue here is not so much implementing aim assist to assist range player but rather than for New World to penetrate the console market which is their next marketing move to grow their market and revenue. 2:40 ***, literal **** are angry because of that. With a controller, you need it. AND even with that you'll have less accuracy compared to mnk. Period. It simply gives console players the ABILITY to play the game. It doesn't provide any kind of advantage. Someone may be better with controller because that person never played mnk but controller in his whole life. Sure thing. I advise every single **** to get a controller and use it in a game which they play with mnk right now. You'll realise what aim assist means..
EDIT: as they said, they have their priorities. When there are 1000 players online and 40 of them are in q for pvp/arena. Why on earth would you think that you are the majority? I play it for the pvp right now, but I would like to see QUESTS. The majority of people want things that are not related to pvp. And on top of all this if they take into count that how many of the pvp players are paying in the game and how many of the pve players are paying, that's just simply an other very important thing for them to take into count. I hope it will help you understand that why pvp isn't the no1 concern.
And the content. The content would be enough to be honest. BUT the players are so loud about they want everything first day, they want bis from every chest and every source that they developers gave you that. There's no farming, grind or anything like that. It's part of mmo. Not this one. You literally get bis for free. For no effort at all. You can run through the content in a day. The made the game so easy that the hardest content is soloable! So there's content, the game got so easy that you don't have to do it or if you have to or you just wanna do it, you can do it in no time. They could release an expension every single week and that content would be the amount that you can easily do as a casual due to the easiness of the game..
I’ve played competitive console games with aim assist for 15 years before I finally got a gaming PC with mouse and keyboard. I cannot understand how gamers with a mouse get concerned that a controller will have a competitive advantage.
Just pluck in your game controller into your PC and play with controller when you need aim assist. Switch back to keyboard/mouse when you don't. You have the best of both world.

The issue here is not so much implementing aim assist to assist range player but rather than for New World to penetrate the console market which is their next marketing move to grow their market and revenue. Like the poster said, aim assist has been around for console game controllers for ages and if this feature is not avail for New World they will not gain acceptance among console players. In fact they will get a bad review for console platform. Its all about the console player market and money, dude.
@ojh518 you are right , m&k is much way better than controller because controller limited compare to k&m in anyway,but also this game have no anticheat there is already tons of cheats that some people are using, look what happened to WarZone, %90 players of the WZ who are using controller and having double triple x better score than a good m&k player %100 is a cheater , honestly i will def. delete the game never play again after that patch, i have 3000 hours in game and really enjoy pvp in this game thats all i do. pvp pvp pvp
The game and there show sucks ass. They answer the cheesy fluffy questions and all the hard questions they act like it's a secret meanwhile wow release road map for 2024 that has more content then this whole game in one update
This devs are nr1 bullshit . The only reason the game didn't die until now is coz there is no other good MMO to play.
ESO and GW2 both shit on new world, it's not even a fair fight. The only saving grace for new world is the art department, everything else is a sawdust cake.
