When In-N-Out Burger first opened in 1948, the company only provided a basic menu of burgers, fries and beverages. The foods it prepared were made on-site from fresh ingredients, including its french fries which were sliced and cooked to order. Unlike other major competitors in the hamburger fast food restaurant business (Burger King, McDonald's and Wendy's), as the chain expanded over the years, it has not added products such as chicken or salads to its menu or changed its preparation methods.
Instead of a broad menu like other competitors, In-N-Out has become known for its Secret Menu, unadvertised variations of its burgers that are based on customer preferences, such as the popular "Animal Style."
Burgers
Animal-style cheeseburger, fries, drink.
All burgers consist of one or more 1⁄8 lb beef patties cooked to "medium-well", and served on a toasted bun. The standard style of burger includes tomato, hand-leafed lettuce and "spread", a sauce similar to Thousand Island dressing. In addition, customers are asked if they wish to add raw or grilled onions.
Secret menu variations
The bulk of the secret menu revolves around the burgers. In-N-Out's own website acknowledges the existence of this secret menu, publicizing "some of the most popular items" on what it calls the company's "not-so-secret menu."
"Animal Style" is one of the most popular "secret" styles; in addition to the standard toppings, Animal Style burgers include pickles, extra spread, grilled onions, and mustard fried onto each meat patty. "3×3" (pronounced 3-by-3), "4×4", or variations of "m" × "c", refers to a burger with a varied amount of meat patties, "m", and slices of cheese, "c": e.g. a burger with six meat patties and three slices of cheese is a "6×3". The In-N-Out "secret menu" section of the website only mentions the "3×3" and "4×4", which are registered trademarks of the company.
4×4 is the largest burger that In-N-Out currently makes. However, there have been instances of much larger sandwiches. On October 31, 2004, a group of friends ordered a 100×100 from a location in Las Vegas, Nevada, posting photos on the web of the burger.
In-N-Out has two low carbohydrate offerings, akin to the Atkins diet. "Protein Style", introduced in the 1970s, replaces the bun with large leaves of lettuce; while the "Flying Dutchman" is a 2x2 with no bun, no vegetables, and no spread. Unless a variation adds meat or cheese, the price is the same as a regular menu item. - Развлечения
No matter what you post ken Ill always love it! your personality is the best part not what you eat.
Great video!! Good looking food 😊
@@michaelgerlach2736 Is it really ok though?Kinda speaks to his character!!
@@zarkasias get over it it's the internet, he was giving ken a nice comment but you just wanna look for trouble eh?

“Divided we stand” lol Ken has America figured out.
Lmao
That was awesome!
😆
Oh, Canada...🎶🎶..(I forgot the rest of their anthem) 🤪
Pros: seeing Ken house animal fries, no more boring camper content, watching Ken lose his fitness gains
Cons: Rusty the van is missing, lack of Canadian hockey apparel, too many ooo lala sound effects.
The fans have spoken Ken is back to his roots. No wife, no annoying friend cameos, just Ken hammering his LDL levels.
The customer service at IN & OUT is top class.
It helps that they are well trained and managed. It boils down to how much the company is willing to spend on its personnel. In-n-out pays more than most fast food restaurants (in their price range).
They strategically keep pricing and complexity down by having a very limited menu.
The workers only have to focus on a limited number of possible tasks, and this allows them to become very good at them. Where as at a place like Mcdonalds or Burger King, they constantly have to learn about new processes, limited time offers, mobile ordering, etc. They are also likely to stay in their position longer as they are being compensated more fairly.
@@Koji-888 All of those things are allowed (except for beanies which what fast food place allows beanies?) at In-N-Out. It's a very weird nitpick.
@@Koji-888 yeah cant go wrong going to either place
@@Koji-888 Appearances can be deceiving, don’t be too caught up in the halo effect or you will be swindled one day.
@@Koji-888 dreadlocks carry cultural significance, as do tattoos. It's pretty immoral to judge people for expressing their perceived cultural heritage.

Ken's milk shake brings all the boys to the yard!! 🎉
“Will you be eating in your car?”
“That’ll be it”
"Fries well" are the only way to go at In&Out! Glad you tried them.
"Light well" is pretty popular too.
@@tamathawalden2037 it's just 5 different timer settings. Light, normal, light well, well, extra well.
Compared to at a restaurant like burger king they might have dozen or more fryer settings between fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, breakfast items, zucchini, chicken nuggets, tenders, chicken sandwiches, LTO items.
What I like about In'N'Out is that I feel no regret after eating it. Now that's quality IMO.
Ken , you always say " I do it just for you" yeah right lol
Ken, the yellow hot peppers in vinegar at In-n-out is the way to go. Cuts through the salt and grease, plus you can spray the vinegar on your fries (your favorite)! Please give it a try next time :)
ABSOLUTELY!
That's why you keep the bundle on the burgers, to hold all it in.
Neapolitan shake (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) from the secret menu.
As a Southern California native this is my Saturday diet lol
Thanks for coming Ken! It just so happens that I used to work at that exact store and recognize many of the people you interacted with! Next time you're there, check out the whole grilled onion! It's much better than the standard chopped grilled onions in my opinion.
The job is busy as hell and can be stressful at times but we're so blessed to have a great staff and wonderful coworkers that make the company easily the best fast food place I've ever worked at.
Couple more notes here, the wrapper is supposed to help catch much of the sauce that leaks out the back but I personally prefer to take it off as you do! Animal fries well done are a favorite of mine since the extra crispyness keeps the fries from getting soggy especially if you take it to go. As far as priority is concerned between cars and the dining room, they are equally important, so much so that we have a dedicated grill and "board" person (who assembles the burgers) for the dining room and the drive thru with a 3rd grill in reserve to help out whoever has more orders. The location you went to is one of the busiest stores in the company (top 3-5) so getting through the drive thru in 25 mins was extremely impressive!
There are also some off menu items for those vegetarians or Vegans out there such as a Veggie sandwich and a grilled cheese!
Thanks for joining us!
I was just thinking that judging by the quality of the food, the appearance of the store, the pleasantness of the staff that it must be a good company to work for. I would like to see that replicated in the UK because I think the fast food stores here are notorious for poor quality and staff conditions
Dear Ken, one of the interesting things you do that is not common by RUclipsrs is; you draw your audience in by asking their opinions at various segments of your video.
A truly unique signature of your creative style!!
Stay Safe and Stay blessed!
Robert from daytradingwiththeLIGHT
I remember Anaheim. That's where Disneyland is!
Glad you are back doing the solo food videos, those are the best ones in my opinion
I love that RUclips channel KBD is the best.
Always start with fries and then dive into that delicious cheeseburger from in n out. 😋
I used to watch you as a kid 🥺I just found your channel again, I’m glad you’re still doing videos !🤍
I always get my onions grilled there, and I think their burgers go great with the chocolate shakes.
A 15,000 calorie day. 👍
These are my favorite kind of videos, especially when it gets to camping out 24 hours in cooooold weather, bwahaha! Thanks for being a rock star, Ken.
The burgers looked fantastic! I hope to try in n out one day!😄
My last time at an In-N-Out was on October 10th, 2021 in Irving, Texas. I was only visiting for two days and spent $25+ roundtrip on uber at around 11pm at night to take me to In-N-Out from my hotel and back. Was well worth it. Usually I live in Florida, and there are no In-N-Out's here. Have only had In-N-Out three times in my life.
It's nice to see in'n'out paying their staff well. Here in the UK we are going through a cost of living crisis as wages had stagnated to the last 15 years.
I saw that, 40 hour week is about £30,000 per year flipping burgers LOL. I'm sure most are part-time though so don't see those wages anyway.
@@Sean-tn5nv Part time workers get that too. They also get health and dental coverage. Every in-n-out is owned by the original family so it's not franchised like McDonald's.
@@Eduardo Yeah that was my point, if they are only part time then they won't see the £30,000 salary. Only full time. Still a very good hourly pay for the work though! California is so expensive in reality its probs not enough haha.
As a Southern California girl here is my order: Double double , no tomatoes (that’s why it leaks y’all) GRILLED ONIONS(sweet w/ out the bite of the raw) add pickles for the crunch and always ask for the chilis and extra spread. The extra spread can be used on the fries and chilis too and you have a version of animal fried. Finally I always ask for no salt 🧂 really doesn’t need it and they always add those packets but in reality the fries are already slightly salted. Be careful not to over do it. 😂
Never been to In and Out. None in my area (not on the west coast) But the prices for what you get sounds great! Thanks for doing In and Out!
I will recommend two other burger places that are better (in my opinion). whataburger and Culver's.
Darn you Ken. Up north here, mouth watering, staring at that burger. You're killing me slowly.
Looks delicious Ken! Wish we had In n Out in Canada!
Hi Ken! Yeah, we know how delicious "In-N- Out Burger" is, but i was also impressed with CLEANESS of the interior of your cool car! ....not a speck of dust in there, considering it is a convertible. 💕👍🏼
Also, i enjoyed your experience/outing/review, at In-N-Out Burger.
This made me super jealous had my one and only in and out burger in 2018. I wish they would come to the East Coast of the US!! I would be willing to drive pretty far for that burger!! They are awesome!! I took the bag home and a burger wrapper that’s gave me extra. I do finally have a Chic fil A pretty close! NICE RENTAL CAR BY THE WAY!!
I think my first job's hourly rate was $6.25 or $7.25 an hour (can't really remember) back in 2003, at the mall, working as Santa's Helper for the Holidays during Winter break from my community college school lol.
warms my heart to finally see a video of you in my home state! It's been a minute since I've had IN & OUT, now I will have to go get some animal fries and a cheeseburger soon!
nice burger icon :) 🍔
My fav fast food burger chain in the states. Canada needs this.
I sleep terribly with a full belly. Nightmares and acid.
Last time I was at an In N out was June ‘19, hoping to get back to one in January. Anyway, I typically get a double double with lemonade, animal style fries and burger, withe extra spread packets; however you can get chopped chilis on your burger and Ive always wanted to try it but never did, maybe next time.
Love the song you use for American places. Reminds me of my favorite OG video from Buc-ee's
That burger looks deliciousssssss
I worked in a supermarket as a kid in the early '80s making $3.25 an hour. That job didn't last long.😆
I can't wait to try In and Out.
Remember getting time and a half pay if you worked on a Sunday?
Great video! Kevin!! Love in and out burgers 🍔
Im neighbors with this in-n-out I live just over the drive through wall lol been a fan of your videos so pretty cool to see this episode taking place here👍👍
Love onions on my cheeseburgers, ESPECIALLY at A&W but when I make homemade burgers at home, I chop onions and mix them in with the ground beef before I grill them and then you just need mustard, ketchup and dill pickles on the bun...yum! Will have to try In-N- Out if we are ever allowed to cross the US border without restrictions, looks so good! And love the big, hearty bites you take haha
That’s your INO for the year now 😂
Animal style double cheeseburger and animal style fries with a Dr.pepper is my go to meal
just got a double double with well done fries today
Gotta try chopped chilis next time on an animal fry or on the burger! so yum in my tum
My first job was in telemarketing back in the 90's. The pay was $6.85 an hour (the minimum wage in Ontario at the time) and, as a teenager with no bills, it felt like all the money in the world.
about 6 to work at Sbarro's in the world trade center, 1996.
Double Double mustard cooked with grilled onions, chopped chillis, extra spread & a Arnold Palmer drink 😘
Divided we stand lmao 🤣
I can’t wait to try In and out burger 🍔
I last had In-N-Out last Summer in Las Vegas. Double-single animal style, well done fries and a pink lemonade. Great video, Ken. Now I’m super hungry!
The whole video all I’m thinking is, “why are you looking, you’re driving around with your own shade!!!”
Ken, I can tell we're in the same age bracket, because my first job was $3.25 an hour! And the next job was about $5 an hour. I'm 66 years old now, and I guess you and Carol must be in that same age group!
Great video love that big burger with well done fry’s ummy
Animal Fries: YAY :) I think last eating there was in LA, near LAX, in 2019. Love In N Out! I also delivered Pizza when going to high school, I think it was 4,90 EUR per hour plus tips.
7.25 an hour sacking groceries. Still there now as the GM
I've personally never eaten at In-N-Out before, since I've never been out there in California, but I've heard lots of great things about it. From what it looks like, the employees working there are super kind, and the prices seem to be pretty good for what you get. Very interesting video! If I ever go out that way, I'll have to stop by and give it a shot. :)
I live on the east coast and haven’t been out west yet to try IN N OUT but it is on my bucket list. Burgers look yummy!
waiting in line at a in n out how ironic
That's not ironic, though.
@@MYERZ08 He made an
error…..oh no! How terrible
In N Out is always crowded during Lunch and Dinner where I live. It's actually gotten a lot worse since the pandemic. It's the reason I stopped going. Their burgers aren't that great to justify the wait.
Hey Ken you have to keep it wrapped avoid the drip, I order Double Double no salt, the spread and cheese have plenty of it. a full meal for $12....fresh enough ingredients
$2.50 an hr at my grocery store in 1976
My first job was at a restaurant called Po Folks washing dishes for $3.35 an hour, the world was different then. Everything was cheaper, and easier to get around.
pizza hut: i was hired to wash dishes, answer phones and eat the messed up pizzas in the back for minimum wage. which i believe in 2006 was 5 and a quarter
4x4 animal style burger and fries with the special sauce and a chocolate shake is the best
My first Job was working at a Soccer club, setting up tournaments and games at the age of 15 years old, earned $8 dollars an hour.
Gotta Love INO 😎❤️🍔🍟🥤
Ken this video was a delight to watch! Thank you for sharing! Awesome idea to eat at In N Out all day! Your making me a little jealous 😂 lol. If I’m ever in the area I’m so getting the double double, Neapolitan milk shake and well done fries all the way! 🍻 Cheers Ken
I AM SO HAPPY YOU GOT A SALT PACKET!
First time I was in an In n Out back in 2001 my buddy had an 8x8. It was my first ever experience in the US.
I just don’t get doing a video eating basically the same meal 3 times in one day...
@@matthew5542 yes but he eats different items, not slight variations of the same meal
@@richm6721 which just shows how bad In-N-Out actually is. No variety or options.
Looks like a Rolaids night for sure.
All the gangsters in my city watch Ken's video during breakfast. They love him
Eating in a Mustang convertible!😁👍
My town is getting it's first location and Im thinking of applying for this chain/joint.
Hey Ken, if you’re still in the OC and want a good bike ride check out the Fullerton Loop!
We don't have "In and Out" in Tasmania so have never had the pleasure. It's good to see you enjoy it.
You can always head up to Sydney when in and out does a yearly pop-up event so they can keep their trademark in Australia
@@tr360wii that would make it one expensive treat but thanks for the suggestion.
Love Tasmania. Families from there. Hopefully you can try In N Out sometime!
WHO orders ONE packet of ketchup?!?!? LOL And I don't think you even used it. 🤣🤣🤣
Ideally I get a handful of ketchup packets. I like lots of ketchup because I put it on my burger 🍔 as well as the fries 🍟
@@jamesboswell530 YES! There is such a minuscule amount in one packet. 😏
Onions yes I like them grilled. They give you options on onions. I skip the fries and the drink and just get two burgers so the calorie count is about the same. 1 animal style cheeseburger and one regular cheeseburger = perfect meal
I had In & Out Burger for lunch while at work today
Omg thats looks delicious
Most people don’t know this, but INO brews an excellent Kona Blend Coffee as well ! 😎❤️☕️
if you are in Anaheim again you should try a place called Fantasy Burger. burgers are amazing, try the deep fried zucchini too! YUM!
In and out is the bomb! I live in the southeast and every time I go west I search for one ✌🏼😎
I LOVE THE ANIMAL FRIES I ALWAYS GET THOSE WHEN I GO THERE
Did he just say the In-N-Out fries are awesome? Now I know he’s lying.
They are different for sure, but there are people who like them (including me).
@@Koji-888 You can literally see them cutting the potatoes behind the counter with a dicing machine. So I'm not sure you're claiming they're not real fries.
INO is overrated as a whole, not trying to hate but I just don't get the allure, I've had way better food at Five Guys, Culver's and Shake Shack
They aren't bad
You probably eat trashaburger from Texas 🤮🤮🤮
My first ‘real’ job was a co-op placement through Mohawk College in 1986 working for Revenue Canada as a software developer in Hull Quebec (lived in Gatineau). The government was paying a student rate of $7.50 per hour. Would love to try In & Out at some point. Thanks for sharing Ken!!
My first job was at McDonald’s when I was 15 in 2015 and I got paid $7.45 an hour
9.25 an hour at KFC in Alexandria, MN in 2014 to 2015
Last time I visited In-N-Out Burger was at a Vegas location in May of ‘08!!! My first job was in ‘93, & paid me $4.75/hour bagging groceries outside Atlanta, GA.
It has been a decade since I had In-N-Out Burger in Baldwin Park, California
I live a few blocks from in n out and when I get the burgers I ask for grilled onions and raw onions on my burgers and ask for my fries well done so that they are crispier
haven't been to In-N-Out in years! is it the same size burger patty as it was the last time you went? or, did they "butterfly" it, like all the other chains?
A: butterfly.
My first job's pay was also $4.25 an hour. I was a maintenance worker at a camp ground. High school summer job!
Ken the sauce on the animal fries.. is the same that comes on the burger!! It’s the spread
You can get cheese fries if you want also... and my son loves the Black & White Shake
