It helps that they are well trained and managed. It boils down to how much the company is willing to spend on its personnel. In-n-out pays more than most fast food restaurants (in their price range). They strategically keep pricing and complexity down by having a very limited menu. The workers only have to focus on a limited number of possible tasks, and this allows them to become very good at them. Where as at a place like Mcdonalds or Burger King, they constantly have to learn about new processes, limited time offers, mobile ordering, etc. They are also likely to stay in their position longer as they are being compensated more fairly.

Compared to at a restaurant like burger king they might have dozen or more fryer settings between fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, breakfast items, zucchini, chicken nuggets, tenders, chicken sandwiches, LTO items.
Ken, the yellow hot peppers in vinegar at In-n-out is the way to go. Cuts through the salt and grease, plus you can spray the vinegar on your fries (your favorite)! Please give it a try next time :)
As a Southern California girl here is my order: Double double , no tomatoes (that’s why it leaks y’all) GRILLED ONIONS(sweet w/ out the bite of the raw) add pickles for the crunch and always ask for the chilis and extra spread. The extra spread can be used on the fries and chilis too and you have a version of animal fried. Finally I always ask for no salt 🧂 really doesn’t need it and they always add those packets but in reality the fries are already slightly salted. Be careful not to over do it. 😂

Thanks for coming Ken! It just so happens that I used to work at that exact store and recognize many of the people you interacted with! Next time you're there, check out the whole grilled onion! It's much better than the standard chopped grilled onions in my opinion. The job is busy as hell and can be stressful at times but we're so blessed to have a great staff and wonderful coworkers that make the company easily the best fast food place I've ever worked at. Couple more notes here, the wrapper is supposed to help catch much of the sauce that leaks out the back but I personally prefer to take it off as you do! Animal fries well done are a favorite of mine since the extra crispyness keeps the fries from getting soggy especially if you take it to go. As far as priority is concerned between cars and the dining room, they are equally important, so much so that we have a dedicated grill and "board" person (who assembles the burgers) for the dining room and the drive thru with a 3rd grill in reserve to help out whoever has more orders. The location you went to is one of the busiest stores in the company (top 3-5) so getting through the drive thru in 25 mins was extremely impressive! There are also some off menu items for those vegetarians or Vegans out there such as a Veggie sandwich and a grilled cheese! Thanks for joining us!
I was just thinking that judging by the quality of the food, the appearance of the store, the pleasantness of the staff that it must be a good company to work for. I would like to see that replicated in the UK because I think the fast food stores here are notorious for poor quality and staff conditions

My last time at an In-N-Out was on October 10th, 2021 in Irving, Texas. I was only visiting for two days and spent $25+ roundtrip on uber at around 11pm at night to take me to In-N-Out from my hotel and back. Was well worth it. Usually I live in Florida, and there are no In-N-Out's here. Have only had In-N-Out three times in my life.
I’m not sure why I’m going to write this but; We (family) have been watching you for years and loved your content. Yes I understand people change and grow. The last year or so seems so forced. Almost like holding on to something so tight that it’s being smothered. You Ken have a lot to offer RUclips and many people are intrigued by you and your family. If we havent subscribed to your channel by now or patreon they’re most likely not going to do it, sounds so pushy. Gratitude goes along way and even more so does being your authentic self and having that come across on camera.
My first job was in telemarketing back in the 90's. The pay was $6.85 an hour (the minimum wage in Ontario at the time) and, as a teenager with no bills, it felt like all the money in the world.

In N Out is always crowded during Lunch and Dinner where I live. It's actually gotten a lot worse since the pandemic. It's the reason I stopped going. Their burgers aren't that great to justify the wait.
This made me super jealous had my one and only in and out burger in 2018. I wish they would come to the East Coast of the US!! I would be willing to drive pretty far for that burger!! Onions yes I like them grilled. They give you options on onions. I skip the fries and the drink and just get two burgers so the calorie count is about the same. 1 animal style cheeseburger and one regular cheeseburger = perfect meal

3x3 whole grilled onions no lettuce and tomato, so you really enjoy meat cheese onion combo. Fries need to come out straight out of fryer to be the best. They can't sit and wait. I always switch up the drink but coke with a squeezed lemon.
You've got to ask for "Extra crispy" fries! They are way better, cooked a little longer, and salt is manditory! AND, jugs of ketchup when you eat inside!

Love onions on my cheeseburgers, ESPECIALLY at A&W but when I make homemade burgers at home, I chop onions and mix them in with the ground beef before I grill them and then you just need mustard, ketchup and dill pickles on the bun...yum! Will have to try In-N- Out if we are ever allowed to cross the US border without restrictions, looks so good! And love the big, hearty bites you take haha

In-N-Out Burger was one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite places to visit when he was in Los Angeles. He would visit when he first got to town and then visit again before leaving town. In his opinion In-N-Out had one of the best cheeseburgers he’s ever had 😎👍 rest in peace Anthony ❤️
