On today’s van life/stealth camping food adventure, I jump into our minivan camper and travel out to Kitchener/Waterloo to live at Chick-Fil-A for next 24 hours.
We’ll be eating delicious dinners, savory snacks and yummy lunches. We’ll also be trying to keep warm with our little buddy heater and electric blanket. I’ll take a couple side trips to stalk up on fuel for the heater and buy a bunch of hand warmers for an upcoming video.

That first Chick-Fil-A employee deserves a raise for her great service and attitude. Nice choice on the Chick-Fil-A sauce. I always put my car in park when waiting in line. Drives my hubby bonkers, but I don't want to accidentally forget and crash into the car in front of me. Blame it on my dad, who taught me to drive 40 years ago.

Yup, a sheriff’s deputy told me once if you put your car in park in a drive through you get rear ended you likely won’t roll into the car in front of you

The overhead thing at the drive thru is for the employees, usually during peak times or busy days, they will have employees standing there to take orders to help with long lines. It's actually heated and cooled for either hot or cold days.
They have the same setup at the Chick-fil-A in my town here in the Washington state.
Same here in Virginia too
They have the overheads here for our Arizonians! You know the heat is bad here! They have to kerp them safe!
In Las Vegas the overhead provides protection from heat. They also have large fans with water mist nozzles for the employees.
Same thing here in Buffalo, we have 2 locations now
My granddaughter works for chick-fil-a where we live and they go out to take orders but they don't have a shelter over head,I don't like the idea that they have to go out in parking lot at night time to to orders,because I think that is dangerous,I worry about this when. I found out that that's what they are required to do because they are away from the building doing this at night time.
When i started watching this channel, Ken hated pickles. Now he is separating them so he gets one in each bite.

Cobb salad but I usually get the grilled chicken nuggets. Looks like the original nuggets would be more filling. I love the low fat honey mustard dressing.
Spicy deluxe is my favorite I live right beside that restaurant
Chik-fil-A in the US always has long lines but they move quickly and the service is top-notch. Surprised you don't have breakfast out there, though! They recently got rid of bagels here which was a disappointment, but their breakfast is good. I like their hash browns. As for the rest of the food, I like the Cobb Salad and get it regularly, though I usually just do plain ol' Ranch.
Love great service at drive throughs. Had some bad ones in the past. It does make a big difference in the overall meal experience.
The over head for the drive thru is to offer some protection and warm for staff who are outside taking orders.
Chick-fil-A does do breakfast in the states and it’s amazing. They have a chicken butter biscuit that’s very good. I personally add egg and cheese to mine so if you ever do come to the states I recommend that.
The thing is, Chick Fil A had breakfast when they opened their first Toronto location and then when the pandemic hit they discontinued it. They say they “don’t have any updates on breakfast to share now” 😂
I think that girl that asked if you were back again for the second time today, I think she's the one who gave you the coupon in the morning for the wait.

One of Chick-fil-A‘s infamous menu items is the chicken biscuit, so it’s very strange that they don’t offer breakfast at that location 🤔

Lol Chickfila are all closed on Sundays. They are Christian owned. But very odd your Canada ones don't have breakfast. Ours around here are very busy breakfast,lunch and dinner hours. But lines move quickly.
The awnings are for the employees. Here in North Carolina they have fans that blow on them to help keep them cool during the summer. Ours stay so busy that they run two lanes bottle necking down to one. They will have about 6 people taking orders and payments in the parking lot to keep the line moving.
Same here in northeast Ohio and in for Florida.: new restaurants are installing two lanes for service and the older ones are adding another lane. I think all of them are or will be covered. Love 🐥 fil-a.

That drink in the USA is also known as an Arnold Palmer. Yup named after the golfer. Many give him credit for coming up with the idea of mixing those two flavors together.

Our Chic filet down here in Texas has breakfast, and the lines are always long. However, the lines move forward quickly. You won't be disappointed with the menu.

I worked for Chick-fil-A for 19 years and can't go wrong with most of there food, they really go above and beyond with customer service. You should of tried the tortilla soup, it's only in the winter. It is strange they don't have breakfast yet. My favorite breakfast is the chicken biscuit with mayo and Texas Pete.
As far as the pickles go Ken, you’ll have to ask for extra pickles. each sandwich is standard with two pickles 😂
Only real issue with the propane buddy heater is the condensation the propane heat puts out. Buddy heaters in canada are very safe, they snuff them selves out if oxygen is depleted. Good call on the Co detector and extinguisher just in case!

Despite messing up my order on occasion (missed my bacon last time and I paid extra for it!!!) - their Customer Service is top-notch!
Editing my comment: also here in the States, at least in NC, they get so backed up and busy, they have their people outside taking the orders and payments before you even get to the window.
Also nice to see they say "My Pleasure!" in Canada as well. :)
I ALWAYS ask for Extra Pickles on my sandwiches when I go to Chick-Fil-A... makes it 1000x better!
Next time you place an order for chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A, ask for an extra pickle slice. I'm sure they will accommodate you free of charge!

Ken can't believe you haven't tried the Chick-fil-a sauce until you tried it on your nuggets. You got to try them on your waffle fries and your chicken burger too! They go together perfectly

I live literally 1/2 mile from a Chick-Fil-A. Takes 30 seconds to drive…7 mins. to walk.
TOP TIP: Next time ask for “Chick-Fil-A Sauce” and dip your fries in it. You’ll thank me later. Great vid!
Wow Ken!! I was surprised to see the Canadian options! You need to have the salads,l & wraps we have here (I'm in Minnesota)!!! Also, the mac and cheese is one of my favorites in the industry for sure! Keep eatin!!
Chick-Fil-A is easily the best fast food restaurant. I've eaten at so many locations over the years... it's always consistent and delicious, and the customer service is always great.

The spicy chicken deluxe sandwich with sweet & spicy sriracha sauce is my absolute favorite thing to eat on the menu! They discontinued the sriracha sauce for almost a year so I was so happy when they brought it back!
Oh and yes I love the stealth 24 hour videos the most, but I enjoy all of your videos a lot! Keep up the great work, definitely one of my favorite RUclips channels now.
They're opening up on Queen West in Toronto. Right between work and home. I'm in trouble. Their fries with their signature sauce is gonna call my name!
Fun fact, the little square pieces that are cut out of the waffle fry wedges are used in their potato rounds. I like their breakfast, but MISS their breakfast platter they use to have with scrambled eggs, choice of meat with bacon, chik-fil-a patty, or sausage, a biscuit, yummy sausage gravy, their potato rounds & a beverage. They also use to have biscuits and sausage gravy.
Chick Fila sauce is best on the sandwich but Polynesian sauce is the best for the nuggets. Just my opinion. I grew up on that. Reminds me of my young days hanging at the mall food court. Also I'm super surprised at how late that Chick-fil-A opens there. Ours all open at 6am on the dot Monday-Saturday

The sweet Sriracha is my favorite sauce that they make. They're buffalo sauce is pretty awesome too. The chicken cobb salad with the lime avocado ranch is my favorite meal from Chick-fil-A and I love their Chick-fil-A wrap those are my two favorite things I'm not eating meat right now but when I go back to eating meat I think Chick-fil-A will be the first place I will hit up LOL.

Speaking from just outside Atlanta, GA you did it right, the only thing missing is you didn't dip your fries in the sauce! Try mixing the sauce and mayo or just dipping your fries in mayo (I know, who knew). Originally from Boston, MA but I have been in GA for 23 yrs... Chick-fil-A is the best chicken on the planet.
I miss Chick-fil-A in the mid/late 90s before the exploded in popularity. They had a different peanut oil for cooking with all the nasty transfat but it smelled amazing and you could smell the peanut aroma in the parking lot. It was amazing.
I love Chick-fil-A salads, the outside roof thing is heated because sometimes they take your order right at your car.
Salad looks amazing but the prices are so high. Thanks Ken as in Barbie 😆.

I'm so jealous! I live in a metro area of over 300k people in Washington state, but we do not have a single Chick Fil A, The closest one is a two hour drive, ( Spokane ) and we've actually drove it before just for Chick Fil A. ....Come on Chick Fil A!!! ...build a restaurant here !!!...two or three even ! you would make a killing $$$....We just got our first Popeyes, finally....soooo...step it up Chick Fil A !!

Edit: I love how supportive Ken’s wife is of this kind of wacky career. She’s always coming up with solutions or ideas when Ken is trying to figure things out with rusty and what not.
2nd edit: I’m pretty sure the Mr. Buddy heater has an accessory hose you can buy to run larger 10-20lb propane tanks. I’m not sure if that is something you would be interested in, but it’s out there.

The Chick-fil-A breakfast Chick-n-Minis are delicious. When you add honey to them, it really makes them pop. Chick-fil-A has really tasty honey too.
Definitely try the mini chicken bites for breakfast. Wish Chick-fil-A served the yeast buns all day long.

Last few Chick-fil-a sandwiches I’ve had in Ohio looked nothing like yours, more like half the size and someone sat on it! I was such a fan, but their quality is in free fall sad to say 😓

My local chick fil a opens for breakfast at 8:00 am. Pre Covid they opened at 6:30 am. I wish they would open earlier like they used to. I’m a morning person! It’s hard waiting until 8!
I think propane isn't a terrible idea, but why not have a remote start on your van? It will run the van and heater for about 10 mins, keep you toasty. Get chilly, just hit the button, and it will shut off automatically.
