- Опубликовано: 16 окт 2024
- 4K Japan Cycling Tour - Today we are doing one of our last rides cycling around Nagakute, Japan, which has been our home for the last 5 years.
We will really miss the nice cycling lanes here and especially we will miss our Japanese friends and teachers who have helped us so much over the years.
We also stopped by the Japanese IKEA to do some shopping and get some dimpa bike bags for our trip.

Japan is such a beautiful place. Clean and tidy. Leaving must be so bittersweet.
Sure is
I started following you because I love Japan and Cycling, but really just like you two as people, now so I will continue watching your adventures. It must be hard to do a 'last ride'. but nothing is ever final, you are both young. You have the right idea to do what is best for both of you. I will continue to support through patreon.
Thank you so much Chris! Often the right decision is not an easy one. Hopefully we’ll come back to visit 😁
"We only have 5 Bikes." LMAO XD. Cruise-sama cracks me up sometimes.
😂
So close to the Toyota hakubutsukan. So many cycling memories in Japan, Ive lived there again vicariously through your videos for years, It'll be sad to see you leave. But new beginnings mean new adventures.
Very close, never went 😢

I love Thuong's Dahon Boardwalk! Retro styling, stainless mud guards, beautiful red color, leather accents.
Beautiful bike for sure

😁😁😁
Best wishes to both of you. So many cycling memories in Japan. All the best and good luck.
Thanks!
that's a nice bike ride .. I can ride my bike there all day 🤩🤩
Entering an IKEA saying "we're not gonna be here too long ..." famous last words! It's an actual maze in there! 17:25" You didn't show us the #bikelovers apartment! IKEA used to sell a commuter bike in the US, called the SLADDA - belt drive, very nice. 20:30: - yep, there it is. You never leave IKEA empty-handed!
I had no idea what I was in for, just wanted the bags originally 😂
That's Ikea's marketing!
Your wife's English is really progressing! That is so cool! Way to go!
Thanks!
So amazing! We actually in same situation, we been living in Buffalo for the past 5 years and now we are close to moving back to Europe. Been enjoying so much to bike on the Niagara bike trails, along the Erie canal and Erie lake from Buffalo up to Niagara and further to Fort Park Niagara. I think we have over 8.000 miles on our bikes on these trails, and out bikes are bought from Target and Dick's.
The longer the stay, the harder the move
Great channel. I hope everything works out well in the new place.
Thanks!
Been watching for years its going to be sad watching you two leave japan, wishing you the best on your new adventures.
Thanks!
Best wishes 2wheel Cruise!
Thanks!
I started watching your channel on the shimanami kaido video and from there I got addicted to your videos. good luck on your new journey! ^^ greetings from Brazil
Thank you!
i had a real nice afternoon watching your videos (2 pm - nearly 7 pm)
rachel from queensland australia, japan enthusiast who can't wait until her third visit there :)
*thanks lovely people
Thank you!
Looking forward to your new adventures in video...Good luck!
Thanks!
We’ll all miss Japan 🇯🇵 brother but we can wait for Thailand and see you ride Doi
Thanks!
Wish you the best guys!
Thanks!
I was laughing when u said (after ur bikes were parked), that u were only stopping "quickly". because we got TRAPPED inside IKEA many times with serious attempts to find our ways out. Good job getting out of there!
I didn’t know there’s only 1 long way out 😂😂😂
@@TwoWheelCruise as you shouldn't have .. none of us know it's that tough to get out, until we get in there the first time! they got some good architects there making sure they make that mace as twisty as can be.
Very best of luck to you two! Hope everything goes smoothly for your big move. It must seem very stressful, but everything will work out in the end! Hope to see many more cycling videos from Thailand in the future!
Thank you!
I love bike culture and the fact that you can bring people into it through your channel... I was very fortunate to grow up in a bike community in the United States, but often seems to be almost discouraged by the petrol companies
Spreading more bike culture is becoming my life mission 😁
@@TwoWheelCruise 💯🤩
Have a nice adventure
Thanks!
Wish you too good luck in Thai, can’t wait to see your new riding videos …
Thanks! Us too!
I love those cute Pandas 😍
Got that baritone morning voice going in this one Cruise! The wide, separated multi-use paths looks fantastically easy to use, surprised to see so many cars with how bikeable the community seems. Lovely civic building as well, great to see the mamacharis and townbikes. The stroller/mobility aid at 8:30" is a great reminder that good bike infrastructure is also good for disabled, elderly, families, etc. Did "bowing to cars" like 10:50" make it into the Japanese Cycling Culture Tips video? :P I can't decide if that's easier or harder than a wave.
My just woke up 10 minutes before this voice? 😂 I guess it’s been a long time since we filmed a morning video.
Signaling to drivers is good in any country, but bowing works good when you want to keep both hands on the bike.
I wish you both great success in Thailand and whatever else you do.
Thanks Teo!
Good luck with the move and your new life in Thailand! When my wife moved to the UK from the US all she brought with her was 2 suitcases - we have way too much stuff now 😂
Thanks! It accumulates quickly.
Greetings from David, Malaysia. Indeed,it is Both Sad to leave Japan after so many memorable years and fortunately, Happiness and New Adventures are waiting in Thailand for you both. As the saying goes,"For every goodbye, there is a Hello/Welcome at the other end".
I wish you both the best and hopefully, one day,you may make a short trip to Malaysia.
Thank you! We’ll definitely be visiting
Hi.Thanks😎❤👍
Bittersweet for sure, but looking forward to new adventures in Thailand!
Definitely!
Enjoy the ride
Thanks!
Good luck kids. Hope all works out well for you. Ciao from Sicily.
Thanks!
Gambate you too!! bittersweet!
Thanks!
Yeah watching you guys in Ikea makes me glad that i have never been in one lol. But the food did look good. Also it would have been nice to buy that small stuffed Husky as a parting gift since you guys are leaving Japan. Like a memento. Again can't wait to see what Thailand has to offer and look forward to that adventure. Great video.
Thanks! We need to reduce our luggage as much as possible 😢
I think you two are going to miss Japan very much. Such a clean and bike friendly country. You won't find anything like that here in Thailand.
Definitely will miss it.
After living in that area for so long and seeing you pass by the IKEA in a number of your vids, I was surprised to hear that you had never been there before. I think that baby Husky is calling out your name, though, to bring him along as a parting memento and mascot for your trip to Thailand. The walking perspective looks fine, btw.
Thanks! I really wanted to add him to the family 😂
Thuong chan is not wearing a helmet like most Japanese riders. Be safe. Best wishes as you two are about to start a new adventure
Thank you!
I missed some of your past videos . . . where are you going, Thailand? Which video do you talk about it? Jeff from Seattle
Hmmm, bittersweet, yeah I know how it is.
Japan, sweet memories always stay stay stay...... alas, departure is sadly unavoidable.
Are you guys coming to Thailand?
You should try to go ride at The skylane
Definitely!
Looking forward to your videos in Vietnam/Thailand!!
Us too 😁
5:40 red bike have a nice reflector stickers, not the best but safe enough to be noticed
Apple Cake...😉👍
Very good! 😊
I've been to ikea in my country (Belgium) today and it's crazy to see how similar they are. We have the stuffed animals too leading to the restaurant and then the stocks leading to the checkout... they look identical. I know big chains do this but it's crazy to see it.
I didn’t see any localized items really
Just like the IKEA we have here in Malaysia as well . The food is so popular and really nice 👍👌🇲🇾
10:22 obviously once you can ask what they are talking about you can get to where you're going in the language, Chris did a video on that a couple years back.
I actually planed to go to and learn japanese in nagoya as soon it's opened for students and hoped someday maybe we could meet up and maybe ride a little, but too bad it seems that it would never be happen lol..
Hopefully they open for students soon. A lot of people waiting still.
You're leaving Japan meanwhile I'm dying to enter 😅
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷
We’d like to go there too 😂
Do more thailand video
Will meet you there if pandemic is over
I been watching most of your video Japan
What's the riding experience on these folding bikes vs the bigger ones? Do you have to peddle more and the top speed is less? I was thinking about bringing one of these and then travel with it to Japan lol
Bigger wheels are more comfy, but smaller wheels fold down more and are easier to transport.
love 2 of u ^^
All the best in Thailand!
Thanks!
But will be looking forward for your new videos from Chiang Mai ;))
Yes 👍
Embarrassed, because I thought you were going to Central America, which concerned me.. I'm glad you're going to Thailand, so much closer to Vietnam. (North or south? 🤔) Stay safe, bon voyage!
Central America was a backup option in case Asia closed down again
Lots of safe places to ride in your videos; you won't find that much in Thailand.
Are you getting rid of the 20-inch folding bikes?
Yes, import tax is too expensive to ship
Whoahh im just miss about why you move to thailand? But goodluck btw
"We weren't planning on buying so much stuff" said Cruise - and every other living soul who has been to IKEA
😂😂😂
when are you departing from Japan?
They will be leaving sometime in November.
IKEA hint: there are typically _shortcuts_ throughout the maze
I've only been in my local IKEA once.... and every shortcut I tried only had me going around in circles. YMMV
@@surlyogre1476 -- apparently, your IKEA was designed by M.C. Escher.
Cruise & Thuong -- remember, never backtrack on the arrows that are projected onto the floor.
no helmets when using folding bikes? is japan not strict on this? ride safe and von voyage!
It’s not legally required for adults
Does Thoung have a youtube channel?
I’m living in Nagakute^ - ^
(Why do I feel like I'M moving, too..? I'm full of anxiety, now. What the-?)
also @Cruise your voice sounds different :O Hopefully not sick :O
My morning voice haha
Hope in the not too distant future you will be able to have a real dog and your own child to love and nurture.
Seems to me you will soon reach the point when you will not really want to wait for that moment any longer.
Hope so
IKEA in California is like going to skid row. Overcrowded with scumbags and losers. The IKEA you went to is so quiet and clean.
5 bikes, why so many?
There is an equation for cycling enthusiasts: The number of bikes needed is n + 1 where n=the number of bikes currently owned.
You mean why so few??
nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Kind of sad always when decision's made to leave a country ;((
Bittersweet
Only five bikes remaining XD. Funny but relatable to cycling nuts out there.
And yeah Japanese elections are quite noisy and annoying. But most annoying is the fact that the conservatives always win and there’s no prospect of that changing. The young I assume want change, but they respect their elders too much to debate / argue with them or even bother voting at all. And if they do vote, they’re mostly uninformed and just vote with their parents to appease them.
I might go insane once we are down to 1 bike each 😅
The elder population has all the power here.
so true I heard that the ideal number of bikes for a cyclist is. (whatever you have)+ 1. :)
You sound like your nose is stuffy, makes the whole video sound waaaaay laid back than the usual tone
😅😅😅
