Moore himself considered the killing joke as one of his weaker works. The dark Knight returns is okay but lets not forget that Superman is a integral part of this story. As for Video Games, its easier to make a batman game. And as for cultural impact, Superman the movie is like the blueprint for Superhero movies even to this day.
Let me just point out 3 more: 1. Batman has studied and prepared defenses for magic. That's way better than Supes ever did. 2. Batman's villians, especially Joker, Ras, and Bane, legitimately scare Lex Luthor and at least are kept in mind by Darkseid and Braniac. 3. Batman is scary. He scares the Villians. He scares the Justice league. He scares the New Gods. He is so scary that, long after Superman and the League are forgotten, Batman will survive as an urban legend, waiting to inspire another to take on his mantle.

Edward Kenway BUT there is a big difference between these "losts". Superman doesn't REALLY feels the lost of his planet, because he doesn't remember by being a baby when he got out of the planet. So his pain isn't bigger than Batman's pain, because Batman remember very well of what happened and he stayed alone without family, but superman had a family that give him love, batman didn't have that, he had just fear, hate and sadness. So I think that the batman lost is more painful than superman's, because you won't feel something if you didn't experienced or remember of something. For example, I never met my grandfathers because they were already dead before I was born, so I don't miss them.

Laughed really hard when I saw the title. This list mostly sums up why I like Batman so much more. He is the kind of character that shows you can do almost anything if you push yourself. What's the point of being virtually invincible, that's just unexciting; while bats is just a human being who became the best of himself resulting on a master martial artist and master detective, getting the respect of every hero in the justice league. it's inspirational, I don't care if he loses a battle he always finds a way to overcome his enemies. And also, he knows he is not a role model, that why he takes under his care of kids like Dick and Tim so they can get over their grudge. *1]* This is true. Then again, there are any number of tales where Superman has had no powers and _still_ come out to kick ass like a boss. You can look at the _Rebirth of Superman_ series from 1993, roughly 1/5 the episodes of _Smallville_ or the _Justice League Action_ episode "Under a Red Sun".

Edward Kenway BUT there is a big difference between these "losts". Superman doesn't REALLY feels the lost of his planet, because he doesn't remember by being a baby when he got out of the planet. So his pain isn't bigger than Batman's pain, because Batman remember very well of what happened and he stayed alone without family, but superman had a family that give him love, batman didn't have that, he had just fear, hate and sadness. So I think that the batman lost is more painful than superman's, because you won't feel something if you didn't experienced or remember of something. For example, I never met my grandfathers because they were already dead before I was born, so I don't miss them.

If you explain Superman's backstory with lazyness, obviously that you are sending a feeling of boredom from that character. But I could do the same for Batman, here's his boring backstory:

Laughed really hard when I saw the title. This list mostly sums up why I like Batman so much more. He is the kind of character that shows you can do almost anything if you push yourself. Every superhero in general is inconsistent as hell and overpowerd beyond acceptable. Batman is not exception, right now he is "Superman" in every way. He has unlimited resources, he knows all, he can do everything, everyone respects him even his villians, every girl loves him, he always right, and of course he сan beat everyone.
Unfortunately all this makes his ''depth'" more hollow, and his struggles more meaningless, because he is almost perfect human with minor flaws.
Thing is, people lie to themselfs.They really like Batman becuse of his aesthetics and superficial mythology.
But it's not make him a better charater than Superman or Green Arrow or some other superhero, because they all share many simmilar character traits and aesthetics are just personal preferences.

1)He is a darker character,which means you can give him darker story lines which are almost always better stories.
2) His villains are cooler: Joker= Crazy, evil, Man.
But superman has lex luthor, zod and doomsday who while good aren't as good as say a joker ,a bane or a two face.
3) Better backstory: Batman
earned his strength who trained for years, he chose put put everyone else before himself, Superman was given his powers and because of this he felt he had to help others without choice not as good a backstory. But that's just my opinion!
