Batman killed in the comics, too. And the Scene where he shot the gas tank of the guy becoming KGBeast, it was not like in the comics, where he shot him right between the eyes. If ppl have a problem with BvS, it's ok, but if ppl got a problem with BvS Ultimate Edition i cannot understand the issue. The best superhero movie by far.
Too bad. The Batmen went from psychologically complex hero to another boring vigilante -- with nothing more defining him from the rest other than his costume.

The reason batman is so compelling is because he teaches us that there is always a right choice to make, we cannot let our emotions overwhelm us. Batman understands that without his strict moral code he would fall and we all need to follow specific codes so we also don't lose sight of our goals.

Even as "Dark" and revengeful as he is, he will never(unless on special, special, like 5 times in 60 years special occasions - or Zack Synder) kill and will never break this rule, even the man who killed his parents, he didn't kill, just brutally beat up for the police to find him .He doesn't seek revenge, even though he wants it. He doesn't kill, even though he wants to. He may be a Vigilante and may be "Dark" but he will never break his rule.

Batman is the only superhero that resonates in my soul, and he does so because he is so damn relatable and noble. He outdoes any other hero in terms of being a symbol of something, and that something is courage and hope. Whether it is the courage to fight through any pain and let it sharpen you, or the courage to face any bully, or most importantly the courage to act, it is all found in Batman. As described in his stories Batman truly lives up to his reputation of being more than a hero he is a symbol for people like me in the real world.. Striving to be more like Batman gives me the thought I may be able to face any opposition with courage as he does some of the scariest villains ever, like Bane or Scarecrow. It also gives me the hope that I will be able to endure any pain in life and use it to better me as he did the loss of his parents.
He’s also the only one that even reflects my life.

Jeremy batman wins because game of the year x2 / Oscar worthy movie / star in hall of fame / best animated series etc. I say Batman’s rogues gallery is better because it’s easily the most recognised because of movies since 89’ and the success of the animated series . Any casual knows of the joker/penguin/riddler/deathstroke etc.

But the funny thing is, when I argue with my buddy, who is a Superman fan, I give a bunch of reasons why Batman is the best. His story, his villains, his allies, the relationships between all of them, the symbolism, overcoming tragedies.
And when you ask him why Superman is the best, he'll simply say "Because he's the BEST."
And I hate to admit that we're both right.

But what makes the dark Knight in the man of steel's relationship so interesting is there brotherhood
They've always had their differences but they never let it divide between their friendship
And honestly one can't as interesting without the other
Some of the best comics are with BOTH of them
The problem is Superman isn't as well represented in mainstream media outside of comics
But I recommend Superman the animated series,
Superman vs. The elite,
and Justice League unlimited
Outside of comics, those are the best alterations of Superman
( I also just recommend his comics 😊)

Well, because more people know what Batman is than Superman. In popular culture, people aready seen the essence of Batman trough Nolan's vision. But no one has yet did Superman justice on the big screen!
@@allflying3 there haven't been any good modern adaptations but nearly everyone has seen the original Superman movie (1978) which is a great telling of superman and his character. And far more people know who superman is than batman, you can go to some of the most remote places in the world and they'll still know who superman is even though they haven't watched any movies.
The older I get, the more I appreciate Superman. Superman is perfect, but Batman has flaws and that makes him more interesting. You're right.

Iron Man was my first superhero film. I was 10 when it came out and have stuck with the MCU since. However the Dark Knight trilogy are some of the best films of any genre (Especially The Dark Knight) and I love Bale's Batman.

The Dark Knight trilogy was my introduction to Batman. He became my favorite superhero due to being able to relate to the character and understand what he's going through. What I find so relatable about Batman is that he's simply a human who has gone through a great tragedy (seeing the death of his parents as a child). That would severely wound anyone and seeing how Bruce Wayne took that pain and anger and transformed him (with the help of his resources) to Batman to fight evil. Gotham sometimes seems like it's so corrupt that it's beyond saving but Batman understands that there are still some good people there and thus worth fighting for. Batman having to face his fears and weaknesses and deal with his emotions and overcome them all is a very relatable person in my book. He's not perfect. He's a flawed man trying to do his best in a broken world. That's why I find him relatable.

The reason Batman will always excel over every hero ever invented is his endurance. In a team of Gods, Aliens, Speedsters and Atlantians, Batman is a mere mortal and keeps up with them and sometimes excels. Stronger than the average man and smarter than most too, Batman is adaptable and constantly moving forward. No matter how many gadgets you take away, or bones you break; Batman’s true superpower is his ability to endure anything you through at him.

One reason I find Batman to be the most interest hero, is that he fights those that other superhero protects, the people.
Batman is in constant battle with people, with himself and with the world. Whereas others like Superman are fighting godly-beings with otherworldly abilities, in order to protect Earth.
Batman is an aspect of the world, of the people. He isn’t just a hero or a symbol, he’s an aspect of everyone. That’s why he’s my favourite hero!

Yeah, he's not the playboy billionaire he sometimes puts on for the media, but it doesn't seem right to characterize his broody masked persona that breaks bones as his "true face'" either. It's a mask meant to scare criminals, and that's just not all there is to him.

I've always liked Batman the most because he seems the most grounded in reality (as much as you can be in a superhero universe). The villains I know are normal people or people changed due to science/accidents, not just supernatural/magic characters. It feels more plausible. And watching how he handles different bad guys is really interesting. I also grew up with The Animated Series, so there's an aspect of nostalgia too.
Batman would win against Bane by using his intelligence by cutting the tubes that he has on his back, but that would be very challenging for Batman.
Whereas...
If Superman were to fight bane, he would just punch him... Once.

I do disagree with your point at 1:25 or so. I'd say Clark Kent is truly Superman's mask, and superman is the real him. Batman isn't the only hero whose secret identity isn't his true self.
Well I'm not sure. Superman grew up as Clark Kent. He only became superman when he was like 20 or something. I would argue Clark Kent is his true face and Superman is the mask.

When a superhero dons a costume and (usually) a mask, he is doing it because he feels that he cannot champion or defend the values he holds dear using his current regular-life identity, like Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker. They feel the need to crystallize their values into a symbol that inspires the imagination and uplifts the people's hearts; a superhero, in this context, simply becomes the amalgamation of all the values that could not be expressed in a mere mortal's form; it is the person at their purest, devoid of pretence. Their regular life is spent pretending not to be this figure of power.
He was born as kal-el not as superman nor as clark kent so he is using a superman mask to hide his identity whether it is kal-el or his fake self clark kent

What I like about Batman is that is the only human in the justice league, he has no superpowers, he will just count on his intellectual and physical skills, of course he also has resources hahaha but still is interesting to see all the mind and physical training involving his persona.
Batman has many things going for him:
1) He looks cool. Batman is the most aesthetically comic/fiction character.
2) His universe. Gotham, Batcave, Wayne Enteprises. You can make a storyline out of any of those.
3) The villains. Joker is as popular as Batman. But after Joker you also have Scarecrow, the Riddler, the Penguin, Poison Ivy. Again, you can make stories out of any of those villains and make it good.
4) The comic stories. No other comic character has so many good storylines: Year One, The long halloween, Hush, In the court of owls, Dark Night Rises, JLA Tower of Babel, etc.
5) Great movies. The Michael Keaton movies were the catalyst of the superhero movie. Then you have the Nolan trilogy which are just great movies that happen to feature Batman. Sure there are many Batman movie duds out there, but the good ones are really great.
6) Video games. The Batman Arkham video games are iconic at this point.
7) Batman animated series. Any kids that watched this in the 90’s became an instant Batman fan.
That’s all I can think of. Some may say Batman’s relatability, but I disagree. Batman is not relatable. He is a billionaire wealthy man that can afford to be a vigilante. This is why Spiderman is more popular to normies, becuase Spidey is “relatable”. However that doesn’t mean Spiderman is a better character.

I think both of those are relatable, but Spider-Man is more so imo because he's an average guy and struggles with bills, dating, and just living his life. Batman is severely f'ed up in the head and would rather Bruce Wayne die so he can be Batman which isn't relatable to me thank God.

I never like the whole who is the mask when it comes to super heroes. It is two aspect of the same character. Since most writers just see Bruce Wayne as a mask, this often leads ro Bruce Wayne to be just sitting at the bat computer brooding
With the mind set we lose something. Look at the TellTale Batman and what they did and it was story more about Bruce and batman was in it.

He acts the same and has no need for a separate identity other than to possibly keep his family safe. Batman has to pretend to be Bruce Wayne in order to fund Batman but also to fight crime through philanthropy. Also, to the last comment, superheroes used to be pretty one dimensional before the creation of Batman and Superman, masking up to fight a generic evil amd then disappearing. That was a time of bland and almost nonexistent storytelling in comics. The thing you hate is what makes comics great.

Character complexity is why I do not like the whole mask ideal. We have a person who is batman and Bruce Wayne. Saying that Batman just pretend to be Bruce is taking out the depth from that person.

It's not to say that "Bruce Wayne as a mask" is the only Bruce Wayne. The complexity of Bruce/Batman is that he wears the mask of the public "Bruce Wayne" because he knows it's necessary. The same for the mask of Clark Kent. Both have their true selves. Bruce's tragedy led him to create Batman and in time became the symbol itself; he even does so to a fault when you consider his problems leading a normal life as Bruce and starting a traditional family as he would have if Batman didn't exist. Superman is the opposite. He/his family created Clark Kent knowing he could not exist in society as he was, but eventually became more Clark than Kal; this shows through his patriotism, commitment to Lois, and subjection to the law.
I think so many writers and fans forget that Batman is a protector, above all things. As Batman he can fight and outwit the people that would take advantage of and hurt others, especially children. As Bruce Wayne he uses his riches to fund Gotham's public works. Wayne Enterprises has whole sections of the company devoted to helping to rehabilitate ex convicts. This is all in the comics and in the animated show.
Batman believes in second chances, he thinks everyone should get a second chance. And a third, and a fourth. He doesn't kill because he values all life so deeply. In Frank Miller's Batman: Year One, he's seen saving a homeless person from being killed, and a cat from being run over. No life is too small or insignificant for Batman to save.
We forget that, deep down, Batman is that 8 year old boy who saw his parents die and vowed that no one else would have to go through what he did.
He isn't just punching and outwitting bad guys, he's a protector of the innocent. As Batman AND as Bruce Wayne.
