Would you ride in a car without a driver and put your trust in AI?
No. I would be in the fetal position praying for mercy!!! But in all reality, it appears China is at least 10 years ahead of us in UK.
Yes. I'd just continue reading whatever......but hope that driverless taxis will do away with the car controls and focus on creature comforts including a table and pre ordered breakfast...great for private-ish meetings with a mini bar....or pick up from trainstation😊❤😊 and go for drive up country.
Thank you for sharing the real China with us. We have had enough of Western lies.
I haven’t had the opportunity in the US. 🤔
Of course I will ride in a driver less vehicle
Driverless taxis is great. It means it unlikely you be rip off by taxi drivers who takes unnecessary detours. The driverless taxis will not work in the UK due to unscrupulous people stealing the taxis and selling them on ebay.
In UK, they may take the LED screen with them before getting off the taxi.
@@hengongchua6250 In Liverpool they would take the wheels first.
No, I believe every country will have driverless taxis except those unruly citizen of that country will have a tough interior armor, just like inside a prison, in order to reduce economic business losses to the company.
Not only rip off, but also it won't get road rage in any condition. You also don't have to worry about it's driving under impact with alcohol or drugs. It's also won't be to tired either
Think the cameras are designed to prevent such scenario and the car will be locked when people try to damage the car
All my kids planning to visit China starting from next year. They start saving money for the trip.
Compared with developed countries, China's prices are very low, 30 US dollars can have a very good hotel, 2 US dollars a bowl of noodles, taxi 0.4 US dollars/km, subway 0.5 US dollars, scenic tickets are usually 5-30 US dollars
Be sure to learn how to use mobile payment. If you come, it is best to rent a translation machine, which is very cheap and very useful.
@@niu-ge u not getting no good hotel with 30$ atleast 60$ china is expensive now not cheap as u think
How much is a hotel in developed countries?

This is first time I see a driverless taxi actually without an assistant driver sitting beside.

It handled different scenarios very well. 😮

Not a good news for Uber. This thing works tirelessly as long it's charged properly.

I'd have more confidence in this than a driver who is playing on their mobile phone.
I completely agree, and I see a lot of drivers using their phones here in China.

Welcome to WuHan, China! It will definitely blow your mind and broaden your horizon, it's really well-worth a visit!
this is what happens when a government is investing on the improvement of its people and society, not on wars and overturning foreign governments
Yeah and if it gives zero for your life.. you should not ever trust propaganda, do we know how many crashes this had before? It is limited to only one town which could be done in the west too 😮
Do you know that no one's is driving this like da drone from somewhere else?
I agree with you that Russia should stop trying to overturn the democratic governments of its neighbors.
@@MoesKeckeEcke I find your comment rather funny and yet very sad. I'm excited to try this in Wuhan later this year. Great video Lee!
Thanks, I was really impressed, will use in the future if available..We now have some in Shenzhen too..

The RUclipsr only tests the technology in suburban areas where there are fewer people and vehicles, whereas the operational scope of Wuhan's self-driving taxis has now expanded to cover most of the city's urban districts.
Wow! Technology is fantastic! I want to try it when I get there.
I live here.Until now I haven't dared to try it😅.Electric vehicle with autonomous driving,really safe ……

The next big wave is "low altitude flying economy." That is something I have always wanted to see. All the movies about future have low flying cars and flying delivery services. I want to see that a reality in China. Not some test runs but full booming economic model.
A great snap shot of how all of our futures will be changed with these sorts of technologies. And it will be interesting to see how widespread these are adopted in the west as China seems to be at the forefront of many of these technologies
You also need the people who have brains developed enough to make good use of such advanced technologies. If this driverless taxi operated in India our low IQ masses will try to steal things from it and some may even try to steal the whole taxi. So both advanced tech and advanced citizenry work in sync to make advanced country.
Awesome!
Lee, it’s truly incredible, but I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to try it. I do agree though that it’s probably safer than a human driver who may be distracted, etc.
❤️
Take it easy. You are probably not brave enough to try it this year. But you perhaps have more confidence about trying this next year. After three years, when driverless taxis are so popular in the society, you probably open your arm to hug the mature technology.
I’m glad I’m not the only one with audio problems. Very difficult for RUclips creators because you don’t want to do the whole thing over again.
If thera are road rage they will yell at the car haha
Is this a co-creation with Baidu? Awesome stuff!
Four years ago, I saw Baidu's autonomous vehicles being tested on the road in Beijing. Now that the technology is more mature, that's why they are being commercially tested. When autonomous vehicles become popular in Chongqing one day, it will indicate that China's autonomous driving technology has broken through a new bottleneck.
👏👏Amazing 👍
The pessimist owns the day. The optimist the future
I am in China right now. As far as I know many cities are preparing the entrance for the driverless taxi, including some of the big ones like Beijing and Shanghai. Baidu, the Chinese equivalent of Google and the owner of the taxi service in the vlog is confident that based on the current data, their taxi service is going to make money in as early as 2025. The service fee they are charging is dirty cheap comparing to that of a local taxi. This has already caused a formal petition from the taxi drivers to limit the operation hours of the driverless taxis. It is so overwhelming that a world changing revolution is happening so quietly yet so strongly just right in front of your eyes.
need to take employment into account.
@@garylee9668 We need to start creating a system for a post-employment economy. Automation is making many jobs unnecessary. We've gotten to the point where actually requiring all people to do work isn't possible.
It really depends on how local government will support it, I put my bets on the driverless cars.
Thanks for sharing.

Great clip ! China already indeed lead the world and live in the future already !!
All this is inseparable from China's most advanced Beidou navigation system, which can accurately and return positioning information in real time, which few people know
Pls elaborate more
@ nukiolbartes6279 Beidou is China's GPS, in fact, it has twice as many satellites and much higher accuracy than GPS.
Beidou is just one of them, mainly various sensors and algorithms
If AI is going to be self-aware it is going to happen in China not San Francisco in the US. Then the T800 will be a Chinese looking folk.😁
Pessimist, if you think like this, optimist is embracing the future.
In majority of Chinese sci-fi novels AI are generally presented in a positive light, more akin to children or people with a very pure albeit naiive mind. And the protagonists treats them as children and nurture them and teach them on human values. The way you bring up an AI would be the same way you bring up a child.
China should start to consider 3day work and 4day rest week into law . Because productivities and service industry enable to increase 6 folds thru continuous achieving AI automation .
Better living standards 💯👌
The funny thing is that China can't even implement the two-day holiday system, most people can only have one day off a week, or even one day off every two weeks. More than 240 hours a month, even 300 hours a month.

As there are more self driving cars are deployed throughout Chinese cities, there will be a need and motivation to make the roads and using of the roads more orderly. Self driving cars will make Chinese roads much safer to travel. People won't park their cars random on roads or cross roads randomly, as the rules will be much stricter now given the deployment of self driving cars.

When you come to an intersection, what happens if there's a driver coming from the left or right and ignores the red traffic lights? Happened to us in Shanghai - thank god our taxi driver acted quickly.
