I think China would be wise not to allow Tesla's robo due to security issue. Remember, they banned government workers from using Tesla? Well, if they allow Tesla's robotaxi, that's just defeat the purpose of the ban because the Robotaxi can just drive all over country.
Since it was revealed that GM's Cruise was partially remotely operated (by someone with a joystick), how likely is it that Baidu's cars are remotely operated? Magic 8 ball says: "Very Likely."
It was waymo remotely driving their taxi. Cruise isn't, that's why cruise ran into all kinds of problems and accidents and finally got suspended due a critical event. So waymo is more superior due to them having drivers for their taxi

Oh hell no they don’t have to worry about me taking one what would happen if someone hack it you would be on a ride of your life literally and it won’t end well
28,000 for a Chauffeur driven car? No wonder they are chasing autonomous cars.
It's ridiculous that this lady said "it's slow". How fast can you drive in US cities? As far as I know, 30 m/h is the typical speed limit in cities. What kind of crap is this?!
india tech can do too, india and USA need to fight this shoulder to shoulder
india's average aiQ: 82
So far ahead isn't even funny
TV man is Tesla fan boy and seems a little skeptical
The old man host is paid by Raymando to sound demotivated by this story.
As if you can get permission to pratice this technology on the road, it already has been proven reliable, the reson why you need to have a human driver sitting in is apparently for safety issue and emergencies. Hes not going to do anything about the wheel, more of a observer and service personal, its a responsible way to deliver this technology to the public, one step at a time
They are doing it in the city. Tesls goal is everywhere.
It is the same as Waymo, which is operating in most of the most profitable markets already. Do you think a Tesla robotaxi is going to be profitable sitting in a trailer park. The profit is in dense areas where you get short, expensive fares back to back. Not idling in some small town waiting hours between rides.
and yet nowhere right now
Everybody's goal is everywhere, the question is, do they have the capability to do it
EVERYWHERE !!!!!!
@@nolisto1 I don't think that is true. I think Waymo is starting in the most profitable areas and then will gradually spread, which they are doing, but I don't think they ever want to operate outside of profitable areas. It is no different than walmart closing stores in poor redneck counties.
the guy is trying to crap on Baidu so bad
China is way ahead of us in bullet trains, hypersonic missiles, and robotaxis. It’s not even close. 😂
highways, bridges, airports, automated container ports, 5.5G, robotic factories etc.....
I sense the host didn’t even want to do this interview, his tone of voice lacked enthusiasm or interest 😅 didn’t even bother to strike a good question or conversation. 😂
If it takes you 4 hours to get a taxi with 500 taxi means it doesn't work
The host is upset. He wants to hear bad news.
Baidu has been experimenting Robotaxi for years. Tesla is still has some work to do IMO. Frankly, enthusiasm about success n eventually ability to monetize Robotaxi is ahead of time.
then YOU have not Ridden Tesla FSD V12.4.
@@markplott4820 Not to put down Tesla, not so easy to get regulatory approval and eventually monetize it. Would Americans want to give up their car and use Robotaxi?
@@kennySg101 - its Cheaper to offer $1 - $2 rides per mile , than paying MONTHLY car payments, LEASE, Insurance , Maintenance .
most Robotaxi will Subsidize MOST rides w/ Paratransit, Medicare , and WORK allowance.
TESLA is already #1 Corporate car in GERMANY & Europe.
A few problems I noticed….
Wuhan has just removed a night time ban on there being no driver behind that steering wheel of the robotaxi
And most importantly Baidu reported 4.1 million paid robo taxi rides up to Q3 of 2023
Each one of those robotaxis would have to do about 22 trips per day
So the wait is understandable until they get more cars on the road
That’s where Tesla comes as these two were partnered up by the Chinese Government giving Tesla a gift
That’s not a paid robotaxis ride
From what I understand Tesla Has had Chinese FSD data in China for years why do they need to partner up with Baidu they can go it alone
Tesla is at level 2
Baidu is at level 4
China does offer more services in a cheaper price range. 28k 😮😮
This video is misleading.
These *ARE* actually REAL robotaxis.
As far as I know, the only reason many of them still have a person sitting in the driver seat is because of government safety regulations.
The local government gave permission for driverless operations only in certain restricted areas.
That was the reason why there was a person sitting at the driver seat.
Phoenix, Arizona has robotaxis on demand. It's the largest autonomous vehicle zone in the world. 🌵
The more I see these videos by mainstream media the more I know Tesla is in the lead with no one anywhere close. TESLA🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀.

what a host!😅
Chaotic drivers in China? You should go to South East Asia countries where 2 lanes road got 4 lanes of cars. 😮😮😮😮
Agreed
It was waymo remotely driving their taxi. Cruise isn't, that's why cruise ran into all kinds of problems and accidents and finally got suspended due a critical event. So waymo is more superior due to them having drivers for their taxi
Please accept that Chinese are way ahead of America.
@user-km1bs4my1y nah they are still a 3rd world country, average civilian there still making less than $100 a month and living in cardbox
@@SupaChinido it may be so but USA is behind in technology now. The only thing that is US controls is world finance. Once China stops buying US treasury debt, USA IS DOOMED
You know they are remotely controlling the taxis
Only 4 hours waiting … That’s excellent. Congratulations
4hours now, 4min in a few months.
When ev charging used to take 8 hours, now you can fully charged within 30 mins. Time will tell.
It was 4 hours to get the one without a human assistant, but the time included the 3 other rides before that

Surprised CNBC didn't claim that Baidu's self driving is far superior to Tesla's. The host did ask that question.
It took four hours for 20 min ride. How can this crap be superior?
@@jasonlucas2328
Work in progress . Can only get better with time since the service is only available in certain areas. Not city wide yet like a regular taxi where you just wave one down on the street.
@@jasonlucas2328What are you smoking? It was robo taxi that came with human observer for monitoring. She specially wanted a taxi with no human, which is why it took so long.

It’d be vandalized and stripped to bare frame.
Smokn mirror… might be a real person remote controlling the car.

Would never work in the US. The tires, battery etc would be stolen and car smashed up in one day.
The use of driverless buses is already in full use.
China is developing new technology. They are getting better. Most Western countries are falling behind. Because of being complacent and lazy.
