The problem that exists in the UK is that there, the government makes money from vehicle drivers in the form of taxes , fines, parking fees etc. If everyone started to reduce oil based powered motor vehicles then that income would stop. So in that country known as the UK, motor vehicles must remain, more motor vehicles, more income. It has nothing to do with reducing air ,water and soil pollution. The UK blames China for world air pollution. In reality, the UK is one of the biggest polluters in the world.

As a Chinese , I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for showcasing the positive aspects of China. And I'd like to say to people with pride and prejuduce that, like any other nation, we are striving to lead better lives. While acknowledging that there are challenges to address, as is the case with any country, I implore those with preconceived notions to exercise patience and grant us the time to progress in our own way. With a history spanning thousands of years, it has shaped us into who we are today. Constructive and sincere criticism is valuable, but unfounded hatred and propaganda serve no purpose. Let's foster understanding and embrace a more nuanced perspective on our shared journey of improvement

I am a Chinese studying in England, and I would like to explain something about the "wall". People often complain about China, especially in mainland China where there are network walls, but in fact this is not completely prohibited, because China also has a lot of people studying abroad. Students, people traveling abroad, and many people who need to chat with family members overseas can use VPN to access the Internet outside the region. This operation is also very simple. As for why there is a network wall, it is because the Chinese government needs to protect domestic In terms of network security and the development of local Internet companies, it was impossible for Chinese Internet companies more than a decade ago to compete with companies such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and RUclips. However, due to this protective policy, China has developed Internet companies such as Tiktok, Temu, Shein, Alipay, Wechat, etc.

In fact, China has already operated two maglev low-speed rail trains in Beijing and Changsha, with a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour. @@urzassagaCause nothing China has is even considered 'futuristic'. This is all to fool people into thinking that China is soo advanced when in reality all the tech they have was already in Western countries 50-60 years ago. As for the crime and poverty rate, well crime and poverty exists in China too but it's all covered up by the Communist regime to make themselves look good in front of the world. How many people would want to live in a country where you are judged based on your behavior on the Social Credit System? And let's not forget about the Uyghurs. Authoritarianism looks cool when you show skyscrapers and monorails, as soon as you get to the reality, everything falls apart.

Jaw dropping! China’s infrastructure is out of this world! Wish I can retire there. Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, even a short extension to a subway will take years to build. Thanks for such eye opener.

The United States turns a blind eye to places that do not generate economic benefits. If it is beneficial to it, even if it is far away from its homeland, it will also get involved, such as the Middle East, Afghanistan, the South China Sea, Myanmar, the Strait of Malacca, the Red Sea... and the list goes on. Because there are benefits there, just like a shark smelling the smell of blood. Therefore, wherever there is the United States on the planet, there will be no peace.

Canadian here. Most of The USA is safe but a couple hundred slums are violent. NYC often has a lower murder rate than several Canadian cities. We visited Chicago in 2022, and the downtown area was safe and wonderful. There are countries with five times the murder rate of The USA.

@@scottwood928What are the developed countries that have higher rates of gun violence and murder rates than the USA. I am not aware of the hundreds of slums you noted. NYC has been relatively safe especially for a major city for the past 30 years. But the over quality of life, general public safety, and the infrastructure is in decline. Most cities and towns have rising homeless populations, lack good public transportation, and are not walkable or bikeable. The country is divided, polarized and siloed. I have never seen such division and hatred, as well as a real break down in any general agreement about what should be important to most Americans.
