It makes it even more touching because they’re not trying to fight eachother, instead it’s the Doc that strived to use his knowledge and technology for the good of mankind, the real Otto & Spider-Man reunion we always wanted
I kinda felt the same way the way electro told Andrew “look who showed up? My old friend Spider-Man”. Kinda talking to us almost in the same sense. Maybe not as touching at the moment like tobey and doc but max and Peter did reconcile which was also really wholesome knowing their history
It is kinda fascinating that the arc reactor essentially is Doc Ock's dream. It's a clean and renewable source of infinite energy. All that work he did was condensed in a small little product. Truly is the power of the sun in the palm of his hand.
I was reading something that Doc probably still had the arc reactor with him when he got sent back home. Maybe if the Raimi universe sees the light of day again, he might use that for something "sinister".
thats part of the point of the scene, he is vindicated... in this moment he knows he wasnt a madman for believing in the dream. The thing he dedicated his life to was not a hopeless cause.
Let me tell you…. Seeing this movie in theaters, with my family, took me back to being 6 years old watching the original for the first time with my parents. It was SUCH an experience. And hearing that original piece by Danny Elfman…. I cried so much.
Same here! Seeing this reunion and the music in the background made it for me. Like you, it brought back memories of seeing the film in cinema when I was 7 years old. When Otto says "You're all grown up, how are you?" You feel he's talking to you cos when we first met him, we were kids, and now, we're adults. I cried at this reunion. So beautiful! This movie is a masterpiece! Childhood was made!
No Way Home is the best thing that ever come to me. I always dreamed that one day i can get the chance to see Molina's Doc Ock and Maguire's Spider Man one more time since i was a kid back in 2005 and even until now i cant believe it just happened. Thank you Sony and Marvel Studios for this masterpiece,i dont care what the critics or anybody has anything to criticize this movie,it is perfect to me. I can die happily now.
There is genuine warmth when Otto says "It's good to see you dear boy." Like a father seeing his son after many years or the two best of friends finally seeing each other after years being separated.
“You’re all grown up” such a touching line. I remember 2002 when I was 5 and I got to see Tobey’s first movie in theaters. One of my most favorite childhood memories.
I was 11, 13, and 16 when Tobey's Spider-Man movies came out. Hearing Alfred say "You're all grown up" brought a flood of emotions to me. It really felt that he was acknowledging the audience who grew up on these films, and it was so special.
As a 23 year old, I grew up with Tobey as my spidey. Seeing him in this film with Otto, just warms my heart. Such a beautiful moment, that takes me back to the theater with my dad when I was a kid. That soundtrack at 0:08 just hits different!❤️
That "How are you" and "You're all grown up" felt so real and powerful as if Alfred Molina is asking us, us who grew up watching the Original Spiderman Trilogy who were probably now at their mid to late 20s or Early 30s.. Were all grown up.
“You’re all grown up.” 😢 man that got me. I grew up a little 4 year old kid when I saw the original and 20 years later I couldn’t help but she’d a tear. Tobey will always be my favorite Spider-Man
This film was a perfect way to not only a film where we get to see Spider-man fight the Sinster six (kind of) but also a way to honor the whole Spider-Man movies that have come before spidey was allowed into the MCU
Yeah and he wasn’t just talking to Peter but to you and everyone who saw Spider-Man 2 back then so what you also heard “Sahil, it’s good to see you dear boy/girl. You’re all grown up, ha how are you?” 😃
This is a great scene because it honors what came before. It stays true to the established facts that Otto is a good guy at heart and Peter actually looked up to him as a friend and mentor before everything went wrong. That’s what makes this scene beautiful, because it’s earned; it’s not out of left field.
You can tell how happy Peter was to see Doc Ock again. After their time as enemies, Peter only briefly saw Octavius return to his senses just before he originally sacrificed himself. Now Peter was able to have the chance to see the man he once respected again and Otto getting to see the “brilliant but lazy” student he once knew grow up to be a man. Love this scene!
I imagine this Peter would have regretted not being able to save Otto (or Norman for that matter) so seeing him alive like this would have been so important for him.
I love the look on Tobey Maguire's face it like he was so incredibly happy to say that line again after 17 years!! Even Alfred Molina's Doctor Otto Octavius Smile while telling Peter his all grown up which him saying the saying same thing to us is so wholesome which makes me so grateful I grew up with the Sam Raimi Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy same with Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man!!
I really love the last line "trying to do better". It's almost nothing but it held a lot of weight for me. Rewatching Spider-Man 3 as an adult actually kinda hit hard. It's all about the struggles of entering adulthood and how easily the real world can make you bitter and mean. In 2007, the last we ever saw of those characters, everyone is either sad and mourning or dead. To hear Parker is still trying, that the world is still harsh but he's carrying on, that's all the closure I needed.
The NWH writers confirmed this movie is not closure for Tobey's and Andrew's Peters and that it only continues their stories and leaves them open for proper send-offs in future. Now that he finally has the power of the sun in the palm of his hand I think he no more needs to keep trying on the fusion reactor anymore now that his goal is completed and I guess he took the arc reactor with him because we never really see him giving it back to Peter 1 actually we never see it after this scene again in the rest of the film. So, possible explanation is he took Tony's arc reactor with him to introduce to the people in his universe. First Steve from blue's clues telling the adults who were kids when he was the original host "I never forgot you, ever." "Im glad we're still friends" which got me in TEARS. THAN I got my childhood hero returning - Tobey Maguire whom Doc Oc said "It's good to see you dear boy!" You're all grown up" had me crying a RIVER! The feelssssssssssss.
I want to see a part when Doctor Octopus gave Peter a Hug and he's going to tell him so much he's missing him so very much. Like Father and Son. And Peter will do a same thing for him too.
I like to think this scene was both Peter and Otto saying hello to the audience. A lot of us grew up with these movies and it was emotionally nostalgic to see these two on screen one last time. What makes this scene even more awesome is that in an interview, Alfred Molina said he got a bit choked up doing this scene because this was the first time he had seen Toby since they did Spider-Man 2! That was 18-19 years ago! Never watched a movie that took me back to my childhood as much as NWH did.
Otto seemed very impressed with Tony Stark's technology, compared to his own fusion reactor. Just imagine if they both met if Tony were still alive. And I love this emotional reunion with Otto and Peter (Tobey). Pretty heartwarming.
When first Ironman came out in 08, I did notice the giant arc reactor in the 1st movie share some similarities to the artificial sun in Spiderman 2. This scene strongly implied that the arc reactor was what Otto could have accomplished.
As soon as the Sam Raimi theme kicks in I tear up every time; it feels like such a long-overdue reunion between two old friends that we as an audience have watched grow up
I will tell all of you the truth right now Ladies and Dudes. If all of you have seen all the films of Spider-Man that feature all the Villains in it. Dr. Octopus A.K.A Doc Ock has the best Arc Ever in Movie History. Hands Down!
@@videodeposu8741 Sadly The Green Goblin doesn't have much of a Storyline in No Way Home to tell you the truth. He is just here and there in that movie. But the reason why that Dr. Octopus has the best arc ever is because he has one good storyline that is all about his origins when he want to create a Machine that is all about the Power of the Sun in the palm of his hand. As for the other Storyline is truly when he is Fish out of Water by getting to know a brand new world that he has never discovered before in his life. And he does learn from it.
He believe that the Arc Reactor is the true Power of the Sun in the palm of his hand. One of the best foreshadowing moments in the whole title movie and one of his main lessons that he has ever learned in the MCU World.
I felt like Otto was talking about us when he said "your all grown up". Those of us that were kids watching Spider-Man 2 back in 2004. Very beautiful moment. Made me tear up.
Otto must have felt alone and scared in this moment, having lost Rosie, brought chaos, and now stuck in a universe separate from his own, then to immediately react to a familiar Spider-Man's voice, instantly brought a smile of relief
This scene was powerful enough to bring a 30 years old man to tears. That is my childhood. I had tears in each scene in which Tobey's Spiderman was on screen. As a 90's kid, that's my Spiderman, and he'll always be.
I love more confident Toby’s Peter feels in this film. He’s no longer the shy geeky kid we saw trying to talk to MJ for the first time. He truly is all grown up
It was my 6th birthday present to go see Spider-Man 2 when it premiered back in 2004. My cousin 25 at the time took me and we had a blast watching it. After watching No Way Home and seeing the Toby scenes I shed a few tears remembering that day. It’s been 12 years since I last saw him after he created his own family and moved away. I sure he took his kids to see No Way Home and got flashbacks to the same day back in 2004.
I was literally 5 years old when Spider Man 2 came out, and I was 8 when 3 ended. This scene is the perfect closure for the Sam Raimi Spider Man movies. In only 30 seconds, in such a brief but incredible way for all the people who knew Tobey as their Spider Man in the early 2000’s, they finally got to see the ending to the cliffhanger we’ve been waiting for.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES OF THE MOVIE PETER AND DR. OCK HAVING A RESPECT EACH OTHER MOMENT THE WRITERS DID A GREAT JOB BRINGING US THIS SCENE. #BEYONDLEGENDARY
With the villians getting healed and a second chance at life, and their interactions with their respective Spider-Man it's beautiful in every single second.
Doctor Octopus became the Only Character out of the 5 Villains who Redeemed Himself the Most. While the other 4 Villains has failed to do so. And that's the reason why that Doctor Octopus has the best storyline ever in this film.
@@BooBop1987 True yes, It wasn't really Norman's fault though as he didn't have control over the Goblin, Sandman was angry but not entirely evil, Electro was brought back but he quickly became obsessed with power, Lizard, I'm not sure what his deal was.
@@KasaiWolf07 Here are my main thoughts about the other 4 Villains for Spider-Man No Way Home. The Green Goblin doesn't have a storyline at all for the film that is way too lost for my taste.🤨 Electro's Storyline is okay for the most part.😐 And as for The Lizard Man and Sandman they have no Storyline at all sadly to say.😤 But as for Doctor Octopus storyline. I love his storyline the most.😊 Doctor Octopus Storyline is the most underrated part about this movie. Is because he became the only character out of the 5 Villain who has a great storyline that is all about his main Journey. Where he is truly Fish out of Water. By getting to know a new World that he has never gone before and he start to learn about the New World for only a short period of time for only 2 days. And that is one type of a storyline that nobody has never done before. Of giving one of the Spider-Man Villains a Fish out of Water Storyline. And Doctor Octopus is truly the one.
When I saw this scene in the theaters, I cried. I don't cry easily or often but it was such a strong throwback into the past the nostalgia just overwhelmed me. For a small, brief moment I felt like that young little kid watching Spider Man 2 again, not a worry in the world, just enjoying the moment. I can't re-live that moment on youtube to when I saw this first time in the movie theater, but I'll always remember it.
I love that line "The power of the sun in the palm of my hand", it really shows that Otto wasn't an evil man he just wanted power in order to make things better for humanity with his fusion reactor and make a difference.
Single-handedly one of the best scenes in the movie loved every second of it had me in tears first time watching it and well its just as wholesome as ever

The Spider-Man trilogy was my childhood growing up. Seeing Otto and Peter reunite hit me in the feels. I felt like a 10 year old all over again.
Same here
Me2 😊❤
They knew what they were doing when they added that soundtrack 😭😭 this scene is like a father and son seeing each other after 20-30 years.
The score by Danny Elfman is so damn beautiful.
My 2 heroes came back after so long
Hell yeah.
And I'm someone that will live and die by *_Blue's Clues_* to this day.
I was half expecting the mechanical arms to pull Peter in for a hug.
That would've been even more emotional.
I want to see a part when Doctor Octopus gave Peter a Hug and he's going to tell him so much he's missing him so very much. Like Father and Son. And Peter will do a same thing for him too.
Immediately started choking up to this scene. Wish it could have been longer, but this was a fictional reunion that actually touched my heart.
Omg the music is giving me tears it makes me want to watch the raimi series all over again
I like to think this scene was both Peter and Otto saying hello to the audience. A lot of us grew up with these movies and it was emotionally nostalgic to see these two on screen one last time. What makes this scene even more awesome is that in an interview, Alfred Molina said he got a bit choked up doing this scene because
this was the first time he had seen Toby since they did Spider-Man 2! That was 18-19 years ago! Never watched a movie that took me back to my childhood as much as NWH did.
Best scene in film history, that nostalgic feeling takes us to the good old days and our childhood, it’s so emotional and heartwarming.
*"You're all grown up."*
No Doc. 6 year old me is still here. Crying like the Spiderman dork he's always been. ;w;

I was poker face but... Damn that sneaky Elfman tune got me....
We sure missed you tobey...and the way the world was when you were spiderman...
Otto seemed very impressed with Tony Stark's technology, compared to his own fusion reactor. Just imagine if they both met if Tony were still alive.
And I love this emotional reunion with Otto and Peter (Tobey). Pretty heartwarming.
One of the best moments ever in Movie History.
That will be very interesting to see
When first Ironman came out in 08, I did notice the giant arc reactor in the 1st movie share some similarities to the artificial sun in Spiderman 2. This scene strongly implied that the arc reactor was what Otto could have accomplished.
Otto would probably studied nanotech enough and made portable nanotech octopus arms
Also he is one of the best fish out of water characters ever in Movie History!
It's been 20 Years since Spiderman 2
No Way Home released 17 years after Spider-Man 2.
Seeing these two together again, hearing Danny Elfman’s score really brought me to tears in the theater.
My favorite moment in the whole movie, the music and acting is superb. So much emotion from such a brief moment.
I love that they brought the old score back for this.
The farewell beat at 0:09 always makes me smile. That is OUR Spiderman's theme.
I never cried in a movie theater till this movie came out.
Hands Down!
I think that goes to Gobby but Doc is a second close.
One step closer today to Docs dream
Actually his dream has already came true that he has finally reach to his goal. For finding his Power of the Sun at the palm of his hand.
I can't stop watching this scene... the fact that they kept the music too...
Never imagined Doc Ock holding Tony's arc reactor and this meeting was so nostalgic 🥺
He believe that the Arc Reactor is the true Power of the Sun in the palm of his hand. One of the best foreshadowing moments in the whole title movie and one of his main lessons that he has ever learned in the MCU World.
The moment that made us toby/ sam rami fans cry!!!!
The score in the background melts my heart that’s the OG Spider-Man music… ❤️❤️
I felt like Otto was talking about us when he said "your all grown up". Those of us that were kids watching Spider-Man 2 back in 2004. Very beautiful moment. Made me tear up.
Truly a Big Lip Alligator Moment that happen one time and one time only. For noticing that he broke the fourth wall.
That background music is time machine. The whole childhood flashback in a second.
felt this scene. ❤️ One of the best scenes i have seen .
Otto must have felt alone and scared in this moment, having lost Rosie, brought chaos, and now stuck in a universe separate from his own, then to immediately react to a familiar Spider-Man's voice, instantly brought a smile of relief
So nostalgic of that theme 0:22
today, when fusion has finally reached net gain:
This scene represents Spiderman 4 in 29 seconds.
The way they bring back the original music gave me chills in the theatre
After watching this film so many times.....I'm in tears of happiness and awe! Seeing both Peter 2 and Otto reunited, and the music.....perfection! 👍😊👍
Great Moment ever in Movie History!
I thought nothing would top seeing Norman and Octavius interact for the first time.... and then "oh its good to see you dear boy" 😢
Who else felt a tear in their eye seeing these two legends again?
This scene was powerful enough to bring a 30 years old man to tears. That is my childhood. I had tears in each scene in which Tobey's Spiderman was on screen. As a 90's kid, that's my Spiderman, and he'll always be.
this scene literally brought me to tears. we're all grown up now. unbelievable nostalgia with the music in the background.
Everytime this scene makes me cry 😢
Love this scene so much. Also love the slight old Spider-Man music in the back.
And this, my friends is how you get a grown man to cry.
I love more confident Toby’s Peter feels in this film. He’s no longer the shy geeky kid we saw trying to talk to MJ for the first time. He truly is all grown up
Student and mentor reunited again.
Hearing Danny Elfman Spider-Man theme actually made me tear up a lot.
shout out to all the kids who saw this movie who are now as old as Tobey was in the original trilogy.
Tobey Maguire Spider-Man was my childhood.
@@jaredruff9823 Mine, too. 🕷❤️
Oh it’s good to see you dear boy after 17 years
It was good to see Toby and the og doc Ock speak.. notice that they both were happy to see each other
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES OF THE MOVIE PETER AND DR. OCK HAVING A RESPECT EACH OTHER MOMENT THE WRITERS DID A GREAT JOB BRINGING US THIS SCENE.
#BEYONDLEGENDARY
The best reunion scene ever in movie History.
@@BooBop1987 AGREED 100%!
It's so crazy hearing the classic Sam Raimi *_Spider-Man_* theme in an MCU film. Michael Giacchino knew his shit.
Oh my gosh just hearing that amazing score in the back just bring me tingles of joy .... Such an amazing score 🔥🔥
Tbh, I had thought Otto was going to say “Brilliant But Lazy” at first .. but this scene definitely hit home heavy for me 😭
When I saw this scene in the theaters, I cried.
I love this scene so darn much!😊

When doc ock said you’re all grown up I was like yes Doc Ock we are 🥲
I love that line "The power of the sun in the palm of my hand", it really shows that Otto wasn't an evil man he just wanted power in order to make things better for humanity with his fusion reactor and make a difference.
When Spider-Man said “Trying to do better”, I felt that
Single-handedly one of the best scenes in the movie loved every second of it had me in tears first time watching it and well its just as wholesome as ever
You are right about that!
I’m so glad they healed him first and gave us this interaction.
I just got the "trying to do better" reference. The shout outs really sneak up on you.
Fought like hell to keep from breaking down when seeing this the first time.
I didn't shed a tear in my first viewing because I was so mind blown about this movie actually being real, but my second viewing, I was bawling
“That could warm your heart for 50 lifetimes”
That sound 🥲
Some people remember, the "trying to do better" line came after Doc Ock called him brilliant but lazy. Just a great nostalgic script
This was not just a scene with a super hero and an anti-villain. This is a conversation between two friends, two actors and a thank you letter to all the viewers out there who once saw RL spider man on the big screen over 20 years ago.
