4:16 reminds me of the last Halloween film where they bragged about casting a young actor in one of the older films to reprise his insignificant role, for the character to remain insignificant, because nostalgia baiting apparently works if we’re asking these two characters to take prominent roles in the company that cost them therapy bills up until their children will be going into the workforce
Jurassic World is one of those movies that everyone liked in its initial release but later became less liked nowadays. I’ll give it that the “theme park is opened” idea is fantastic and the visuals still look pretty good. I just think I barely remember the characters and their screenplay isn’t very strong. Now with a seventh film happening next year, I hope Gareth Edwards nails the visuals. Also I had a bit of a grudge against this film because it nearly took Inside Out’s attention back in 2015.
I still like this movie as much as I did when I first saw it. Sure it’s not perfect and there are multiple flaws and things they could’ve done better or different.
There's a part of me that wishes they just made a film adaptation of the Jurassic Park Redemption comic. Tim tries to build a new Jurassic Park, Lex became an animal rights activist, and the original trio helps recapture the new dinosaurs. I agree with you, Jurassic World was an okay reboot
10:20 The final fight is basically a ridiculous Transformers battle... and the way that Mosasaurus jumps out of the water had me in stitches. If.. and that's a big if... I watch the movie I have no desire to watch it beyond 2/3 of the film. It has so much unneeded (and also weak) cgi. That opening with the cgi black bird stomping into the screen with it's foot Pixar style told you exactly what this movie was going to be... silly. Trevorrow doesn't understand that less is more sometimes. Plus I hate big crowds and holograms. A friend of mine asked me to restore the deleted scenes and there was an actual scene where Claire covers herself in dino dung to mask her perfume scent. 😂 Jurassic Park would never.
I love the movie we got, I can rewatch it anytime. But you describing an alternate version with Lex and Tim as the protagonists sent chills down me... that could have been special.
I find it funny that the animated series’ (Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory) and the short film, Battle at Big Rock, have been far better and feel more in line with the original Jurassic Park than any of the films of the World Trilogy (and I say this as someone who likes Fallen Kingdom). If the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth doesn’t live up to expectations then it’ll further prove my point that this franchise should’ve ended (movie wise at least) after 2001.
I really enjoy this movie, sure it’s nowhere near as iconic as the original but it was a great example of how to inject new ideas and creativity into a classic franchise, while ALSO keeping that nostalgia alive and giving a new generation the same feeling of wonder that the original movie gave people. Even it followed suit in the sequels with going bat rap crazy off the rails.
The funniest lore established in that film is that the one of the Japanese businessmen running from the TRex claims that Kaiju exist in Japan and was freaked out that they also exist in the US.
The first film changed it's ending for the better but The Lost World should never have ditched the original ending that involved the Pteranodon attack in the village (where their nests are). John Hammond died in the end and it's his funeral where Malcolm meets up with Lex and Tim. It felt more organic and still leaves the dinosaur island more like a mystery. JP III (Extinction) started with a pternodon attack and followed by other dino attacks on the mainland (Costa rica) during the film which initiates the government to take forceful action. Alan and the group do not only have to run from dinosaurs but the bombing of the island as well. The movies should just have more mystery and sense of discovery to them instead of this whole world knowing about these dinosaurs with newsreports, compilations of footage etc. It wasn't the right way to go imo.
In my opinion this movie is fine... I loved it when it first came out (manly due to my love for dinos as a kid) but looking back on the movie it was not this groundbreaking sequel I once thought it was... But on the plus side we got three of the best universal rides out of this film
Why a reboot though? Why not just a sequel?! A reboot, at the very least, runs the risk of undermining the original. More specifically if this reboot takes place in the same universe as the original then “rebooting”, that is basically recreating the premise, may undermine what comes before I mean, come on: the Star Wars Seqeuls! If the empire rises again and we’re back to the rebels vs empire scenario then the rebels in the original trilogy basically lost! It makes no sense from a marketing perspective: you want to preserve and therefore cash in on the preestablished value of the original, and maintain a new generation of consumers. Why the hell would you make a remake/sequel hybrid?! A remake is gonna basically replace the original; it may create some new enthusiasm for the original but its function is to cash in on an existing property that the producers have no confidence will truly be embraced by younger generations. A soft reboot is like answering a true or false test with a bad hybrid of a “T” and “F”. They want to make a sequel but they don’t know how or what to do. They also would make a remake if they could but the property isn’t old enough and some films are declared remake-proof by the masses. But you really can’t do both at once : that’s the cold hard truth
HE HAS RETURNED!!
7:21 also apparently the actress wanted an extreme crazy death scene so they went with it
Knowing that I'm starting to respect the hell out of that. I mean, go for the electric fences that the dinosaurs busted out of, you know?

That Avengers fight at the end of this movie is just cringe
I liked the part in the Indominus paddock, it felt very jurassic, the rest of the movie not really
@ I hope the new movie has a good balance of suspenseful horror and adventure

You are the only person I've ever seen reference The Book of Henry. I used to watch it a lot when I was little. It was definitely.... something.

Honestly this was amazing! Love everything here!

This video was a journey and I loved it. I'm definitely open to more videos like this.
I admit, while I didn’t watch much of the second world movie and didn’t like the third, this movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.
I remember really liking Jurassic World when it came out, but thinking back a lot of the emotional beats didn’t hit for me.
Oh, chaos theory time?
7:06 never seen it
We all know Chris Pratt really should have been the grown up "six foot turkey" kid, haha.
just saying, I'd love to see that video on how accurate Roller Coaster is
Duel of the Fates would’ve been worse than Rise of Skywalker. Colin Trevorrow is an inept hack who just got lucky.
Milk ages better than this movie😂
But yeah tim's actor played john deacon in bohemian rapsody so.......why didnt they brought him back is beyond me
Why are we still so harsh to Lost World?
It's a 6 to 7 outta 10 movie
You don't think "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" is a good movie???? Hot take.

I thought the movie was fine on initial release but nothing special. The other two sequels didn’t do anything for me.
I respect your opinions, but I personally still like the movie. It was a fun movie. The 2 sequels, though, can get lost
I watched this film once. It sucked shit.
Jurassic world was dogshit
