@@theonemodifierI have a lot of time for Bowie, but Nirvana took his song and vastly improved it. Not this version (which I can live without), but the acoustic one on Unplugged - Kurt took it to another level. I have listened to many versions of the song that Bowie performed and none of them are as good. Some of them are just straight up bad.

When I listen to the Unplugged version, the guitar solo at the end always makes me tearful. Hearing this version and hearing Kurt wail in harmony with it... my god. Knowing what the pain, sadness, and loneliness led to just a few months later?
Unplugged or live and loud, it's heartbreaking.

Like the acoustic version better; don't think some people realize (after getting clean, divorce cortney asap & trying to get daughter) his 93 lyrics are from stories in the Bible; sound style mellowed a bit.

this version is much more in sync with Bowie's. The lead is Bowie harmonizing at the end. Regardless, both versions are beautiful yet chilling at the same time. If it gives you goosebumps, than the musician did their job.

I’ll tell my age, prom night April 8, 1994, I heard the news that Kurt was dead on MTV news and needless to say that night sucked and the world lost a beautiful soul that also happened to be a talented musician. Now, I still listen to his music and expose my children to his genius. Rest In Peace Kurt, you are missed everyday!

    I spoke into his eyes
    I thought you died alone

Krist has been one of my biggest influences in music (i’m a bassist). Dave is just so creative and always in the pocket. Then you throw on top of that pat and kurt. Man this band was something special.

I’m sitting here with my jaw on the floor blown completely away!! Both versions are absolutely amazing!! I don’t love one more than the other. I’m angry I didn’t know this information before so I could have appreciated Nirvana’s so much more when it came out ❤️. Bowie is a legend that will be missed for years to come and so will Kurt. Em 89, eu tinha 14 anos, e tive a oportunidade de conhecer o Kurt, ele parecia ser uma pessoa boa, mesmo com suas crises. Sinto falta de suas músicas
