Good catch on the trip piece that is on the factory headlights. Just installed mine last night and was noticing that there was much more room between the grill and the headlight housing. Went out and got the trim pieces put on. Thanks for mentioning that in your video. Have watch a few installs and they don't mention it. 1 thing to note though to others possibly, although the adjustment is straight forward, you can not adjust the lights once they are installed if you have a Powerstroke engine. Instead of the adjustments being more towards the grill (or even on top) like the factory, it is on the back where you can't get to once installed.
Thanks for watching! Wow, you really can’t get to the adjustments on the diesel? I know on the 6.2, I could get to the drivers side ok, but the passenger side required popping out the air box duct that is just held in by a clip. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s the batteries in the way on the diesel?
@@stuffyoucando2 Yup, batteries on both sides. Guess maybe could get in with a right angle but I couldn't even feel the screw once installed. Granted didn't try to hard. I just set the light in, looked at where it was and pulled out and adjusted. Then repeated few times.
Yeah I thought it was interesting too. It’s funny because I noticed after that my wife’s MDX has the same thing with factory LED lights, just not nearly as pronounced.
Good review thanks. I have 2018 f250 xlt and I agree with you about the headlights not being to bright. Living in the country in upstate NY, it's a bit of a hazard driving at night. I've been toying with installing off-road lights which are illegal on road or the route you took. Not sure if you filmed the install but if you did I would love to see it. Thanks again.
Thanks. I didn’t film the install because it’s actually pretty easy. You remove the plastic cover above the grille, this is attached by a dozen or so plastic push pins that pop right out with a flat head screwdriver. After that there are 7 10mm boots to remove the grille and 4 10mm bolts for each headlight. Morimoto’s instructions have it covered pretty well.
Yeah even though they restyled the headlights for 2020 they’re still just as bad. I didn’t really want to spend that much either, and luckily I was able to get 25% off for Black Friday, which at least took a little bit of the sting away. At that point comparing what it’d cost me for some of the alternatives versus the end result I decided to go ahead and get them.

How are the hybrids holding after a 1yr+? Have any of the bulbs gone out? I read that both the original XBs and the Gen 2 have had significant flickering/flutter issues because of the projector shutters. These don't have shutters correct? I'd hate to spend the money and get stuck with a headache, if you know what I mean. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thx
So the other ones are bi-xenox led projectors? My focus had those and the high and the low were the same bulb just when you commanded high beams the flap moved up and the headlight shines in all it's glory. Owned that car for 6 years 70k with lots and lots of night driving on the highway and it was fine. If you have the auto high beam function on the maybe yes over time.
@@Seasniffer69 No, bi-xenon isn’t LED, they’re usually referred to as HID (high intensity discharge) and that’s what your Focus likely has. There are no shutters with these XB Hybrids and to my knowledge the XBs don’t have them either.
@@stuffyoucando2 bi xenon can be anything. It's a projector type, not a light source. Y'all said something about flappers in the lights and that's what that is.
I just bought these and I had to buy an adapter from them to work. So does the top light stay on while in drive? I just want to make sure they are functioning correctly.
You can try but it results in a hyper flash because the truck sees an LED bulb like a burned out bulb. There are ways to use resistors to try and eliminate that issue.
The driver side I was able to adjust with a shorty Phillips screwdriver. The passenger side would need the battery and or the intake snorkel removed. Passenger side is 100% inaccessible without removing any of those.
I have those on my 2017 F-250, bought them a year ago and they started to bounce on the road and the driver side top headlight burned out completely, not satisfied with the light output either. I should have just bought some OEM LEDs off eBay and the Aftermarket harness would have been better and more than likely would have cost the same.
@@mboren8777 I don’t doubt that the OEM lights would be better quality, but you will be hard pressed to get even one light new for the price of a set of the Morimotos. Plus the cost of the adapter harnesses. It might be a little closer used, but I still think you’ll have a fair amount more in them in the end all things considered. I hope I don’t have the issues you’ve had. So far so good.
Just ordered these for my 2022 F250 XL, can’t wait! Not only will it be better functionally, but they make the front end look good as hell!

There are companies that make them if that’s your preference.

The only thing that stays on all the time is the DRL strip that gets wired into the fuse box. Why did you have to buy an adapter?
Thank you so much for the video I was looking for information about if it's possible to adjust them, where is the adjustment located same as factory?
The adjustment is on the back near the top, not quite the same or as easy to get reach as the factory lights.
