During the finale of The Dark Knight Rises, when they're trying to stop the nuke, all I could think about was "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb."
You just won the internet with this comment lol
I assume it was an intentional homage
*cut to ducks in the water*
this is the best thing i’ve read in a while 😂😂😂
well done sir
Dan’s Adam West is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. This was probably my favorite commentary to date. Keep up the great work!
"How does he sneak up on people when his cheeks clap?" is the funniest Nightwing joke ever made. 🤣🤣🤣
I love how this vid is all about how Spencer can beat up the elderly.
One of the best ever.
Soooooo funny! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Adam West Batman = Walken + Goldblum comparison was on point.
i cant unsee it now
That "Nightwing's butt" tangent might be a top 5 funniest Honest Trailer Commentaries moment.
Omfg, Spencer’s sly “greatest generation” dig
"How does he sneak up on goons when his cheeks clap?"
I just lost it when he said that. I legit spit out my food in laughter and came straight to the comments lol
My favorite quote!!!!!!
These teases for the next honest trailer just keep getting more and more obscure...
"I adopt you as my son but let's keep this casual." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's amazing and so accurate!
"how can he sneak up on goons when his cheeks clap" LMAOOOOOO
I choked on my milkshake for 5 minutes.
I just laughed so hard at that. Had to see if someone pointed it out 😂
He really is Mr. Butt.
Spencer: It's Spider-Man Far from Home.
Me: (genuinely, for a second) Now that's a thinker.
Mysterio: Master of Deception!
Great discussion. Irish fan here and if anyone is wondering we roared laughing at "Irish noises intensify."
One question though... How does Dan do a perfect Adam West but his Irish accent wanders all the way to India and up to Scotland before it gets back to ireland. :D
Because irish accents are really hard.
I think he can do any American voice, but please don't ask him to do a swedish accent...
I knew I heard some Scottish in there! You're so right! XD
His impressions are almost 99% on point every time, but Dan's Irish voice sounded like an Irishman who was born in Jamaica 🤣
You're forgetting that bit where it went pirate in the middle there
Joe geeking out to Dan's impressions just made my day. Tired and hot after yardwork and watched this... It made me happy.
Dan is my HERO! Both him, and whatever spiritual version of him is being referred to.
I’m really enjoying today’s edition of Spencer Beats Up History.
"Proud Boy Wonder" & "Alt-Right Wing"
I'm dead
“Now Spencer when we said do an HONEST trailer commentary, we meant funny-honest, not honest-honest!” 🤣
I like that no one picked up on the “ward” remark, since Robin’s actor was Burt Ward.
Oh my god Spencer, you can’t just ask why people are different color dust!
19:26 - Dan’s “Do you know what kind of constitution (the Great Gatsby) had to have ...” rant is awesome 👏
The guy who did the leg work to finally sort out the ownership rights of the '66 TV show (thus allowing it to be released on Blu-ray/streaming) did God's work.
God I can never figure out what movie Spencer's alluding to at the end.
i think it's a kind of a reverse, home alone, trying to mess with people
i think he might be trying to tell us its spiderman homecoming
I’m pretty sure he’s talking about the last 3 1/2 seasons of The Walking Dead.
Spencer was the star of this one. Everyone just laughing when he just gives up and gives away next weeks trailer was funny.
*softly* "Greatest Generation"
He crushed it. Everyone in that room is dying.
NGL, he had me in the first half. I thought he teasing the Honest Trailer for Martin Scorsese's Silence, until everyone else at the table just completely broke.. haha
Spencer muttering “greatest generation” made me into the weirdo laughing out loud on the train. 😂
"No! Leave it in!"
Gets cut
This episode furthers my theory that Spencer doesn’t understand time and how history works.
32:24 Well, that's one way to continue my winning streak for guessing the next Honest Trailer! I'll be 7-for-7 since Godzilla: King of the Monsters!
Having a ward means taking financial responsibility for the child, while they maintain their family name, keeping it alive.
Dick becomes a Wayne if he is adopted, as a ward he stays a Grayson.
Dick had other family (on the show), Aunt Harriet, she was his legal guardian. Bruce just pays for everything.
Holy Teaser Batman, that's a really difficult teaser to figure out. I'm thinking it might be killer Klowns from Outer Space next week.
I thought it was The Postman?!
I thought they were going to cover the last 3½ seasons of The Walking Dead!
The carrier pigeons joke kind of made me think of the swallow joke in The Holy Grail.
Where did you ge the coconut?
are they african carrier pigeons?
The best interpretation of Robin was in the Lego Batman Movie.
the Lego Batman Movie was the best interpretation of Batman as well.
I so love it!
I accept your challenge! I'm old, I smoke, I eat a great deal of meat and am wheelchair-bound. I'm also 6'4" 240 lbs and can load and unload either of my manual wheelchairs or my 300 lbs powerchair from the driver's seat of my van while not having any use of my legs. :-D
I love when someone in a wheelchair joins an ass kicking contest.
Positive Comment for the Day: That thumbnail was spectacular!
Also, I think this was one of the most fun Honest Trailer + Commentary combos.
"All they ate was liver and cigarettes" literally made me spit out my coffee. Well done, Spencer...
Those old timers jokes reminds of the episode of Seinfeld que Jerry met the Mandelbaums
For a while in the 80's, the owner of the Batmobile lived in NJ and he would drive it to our family drive-in restaurant very often.
I am so excited for the Spider-Man: Far From Home Honest Trailer.
Don't get too excited. With Spencer's cryptic clue next weeks Honest Trailer could be anything.
You're so right. I shouldn't have just assumed. 😂
How funny would it be if they did Rami's Spider-Man as a switcheroo.
Some days, you just can’t get rid of an Honest Trailer!
The "can't get rid of a bomb" scene was filmed in Stearn's Wharf in Santa Barbara. I have never seen nuns there, but I have seen marching bands and ducks, and the occasional pirate.
I am a big fan of Tim Drake's Robin.
It's just that the live-actions never use him.
Man, I miss this crew. This is probably my favorite Commentaries episode. 😂😂😂
"Well, you see, everything's been so hectic with NYCC coming up I couldn't think of a teaser for next week! But don't worry, even though some of us will be far from... Our studio, next week's honest trailer will be up on Tuesday, as usual."
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess Spider-Man: Far From Home for next week
Galaxy Quest documentary is the real excitement!
This is the funniest commentary yet. I must have looked so strange cry-laughing on the treadmill.
Always love the Commentaries...Usually the more you guys hate the film (or at least the more Dan hates it) the funnier the commentary. This was the definitely an exception to that (because it had me roaring several times).
This was hysterical. Just laugh out loud funny from start to finish, up to and including the amazing cryptic reveal for next week's honest trailer haha
My day is now better for having heard all of your weirdly convincing Irish accents. 😂🍀
Danielle desperately trying to remember it's called Batman Beyond
Can the next Movie Fight just be a Goldblum off? Best performances, best impressions, everyone has to come as their favorite Goldblum.
Also Spencer saying "cheeks clap" has made my week (year?) .
Spencer's mind will be blown when he hears about the copyright term extension act
I'm kind of glad people are back to loving this iteration. When I started reading comics in the 80's there was a lot of resentment. I think West's role on Family Guy and the Brave & the Bold cartoon are somewhat responsible.
I love this Batman but I grew up on TV shows from this era
Spencer: "BRING ME YOUR ELDERLY!"
Why did I think of Zuko?
‘Proud boy wonder’ omg that’s too good Spencer haha
I had just watched the trailer itself then linked to this commentary. The host said he wished he'd been there for this movie. I was there. I was in line on opening day for this movie. It was summer after sixth grade. Someone who was in my class was also in line and said, "I was expecting you'd be here!"
Wow, that clue for next week's Honest Trailer was so subtle!
Spencer: "All these superheroes should be public domain like Robin Hood."
Isn't Robin Hood (2018) already Batman?
Brandt Erickson to that someone would have to watch Robin Hood (2018).
Or in other words the world will never know
@@cisalzlman we've seen the review Dan and Roth did, that's enough 😂
Robin Hood (2018) is Green Arrow, and Green Arrow is Batman, and Batman is Zorro.
Yes but more No.
YAY, my carrier pigeon Well Actually got mentioned!!!
Spencer gets a perfect set up and doesn't answer,
"Well, you have to know these things when you're king you know."
The old time-y conversation is the best!
Lets be honest, Joker is rocking that lipstick
"Would you [pow sound effect balloon] me? I'd [pow sound effect balloon] me so hard."
Oh yes, I'd love to see you 'Last action hero' into one of the elvis movie scenes where The King insisted on showing off his black belt in Karate.
Would love to see Epic Voice Guy on one of these commentaries
"Ward" is a legal term for a protected person who has a guardian. Bruce Wayne was Robin's legal guardian.
Brian Tanner and his Uncle
Ah yes,my favorite Batman villain, eggman, not to be confused with the Sonic villain, egghead
I don’t know if you’re joking or not, but it’s the other way around.
Thank you for pointing out the joke
I'm sorry Spence but I can't see you beating someone at chess, let alone going one on one with some good ol' boys. 🤣
“Greatest generation” HAHAHAHA
Romero was a war veteran
As a millennial who has to sit quietly while my boomer boss talks down on me constantly, this gave me a little bit of joy to my otherwise stress-filled and depressing day with her.
akirebara the greatest generation isn’t referring to boomers though...?
@@dontworry5696 Ah, I thought they were the same. It's maybe because this boomer boss of mine won't stop nagging about how great her generation is and how millennials like me are the worst.
@@akirebara Baby boomers were the generation between the greatest generation and generation x. Millennials came after that.
I don't think I've ever laughed this much during a HT Commentary. thank you! 😂
lol Joe saying "He a whole Snack" so nonchalantly
Spencer couldn't run a mile without wheezing and he slams the Greatest Generation who stormed the beaches of Normandy in a full pack on a diet of two packs a day.
I’m with younger Joe. I really wanted to see King Tut in a modern movie.
Sadly, he cannot be used. DC doesn’t have the rights to the character.
You guys had a lot of fun with this one. haha
Please say 'Starring Tom Holland' for the Spider-man: Far From Home honest trailer showing the scene where he's in the Netherlands
Undoubtedly the best work we've seen from Tom Holland! You must be a fan since you're requesting this.
My favourite part of the movie is still the porpoise that our heroes assume sacrificed itself instead of just being collateral damage but speaking of the show, I can't go past the riot episode where Batman convinces a criminal not to escape because he'll be out in another 20 or 30 years.
While not quite Into the Spider-Verse, the Batman/Planetary cross over had a bunch of different Batmen from alternate realities. It's a fun read.
Apparently Frank Gorschin, (The Riddler) took his role in the show so seriously that he did lots of exercising getting into such shape that the producers of the show found it difficult to find stunt doubles for him. Now the character is seen as rather a joke that even Robin could beat up.....
4:56 - that actually wasn't a line reading. Meredith ad libbed it and they kept it in because it was so funny.
About the ward thing... adoption didn't always exist. Not formal adoption as we think of it today. And people didn't think of kids, especially other people's kids as somebody that you would take in.
Wards are basically children that you take in. Usually rich people who can afford them. Either in a good way, you clothe them, educated them, basically rear them. Or in an awful way, take them in and use them as unpaid labor.
Teaser for next week: Someone is swinging around in Europe.
4:48 That line was actually ad-libbed by Burgess Meredith.
HOLY HONESTY! This bat trailer was filled with bat hilarity. Same with this bat commentary. True bat humor
I just noticed that you now have 6.66 million subscribers! wonderful coincidence that your'e doing the Honest Trailer for Batman 66 now! ;-)
14:27 Why are they wearing the capes over their lab coats?
I almost CHOKED at "Proud Boy Wonder "...😂🤣😂🤣
*"How does the raaadio staaation sound"*
I love how Dan's Irish voice slowly slips into a Jamaican voice. Reminds me of Paul Rudd in I Love You Man 😆
I love watching the commentaries. Holy Hell ya'll are hilarious.
Batman '66 (series and movie) are a masterclass in deadpan camp comedy.
Yeah, I want to see Mr Green Shirt fight an "old timey fighter". I definitely want to see it now.
My favorite line which sums up Robin perfectly, "We're just a distraction used by batman. Why else do you think we wear red and yellow?"
The thumbnail had my dying.
A better hint would have been,
"It's quite the trip, a eurotrip"
Omg I really didn’t expect that for the teaser of next week’s Honest Trailers LOL!!! That was HILARIOUS. Spencer just gave up :P
Spencer i miss you calling us dumb babies at the beginning.
I love it when the Honest Trailers Commentary is funnier than the actual trailer itself. Awesome work Screen Junkies, great stuff.
Needs more Batusi dancing from the Honest Trailers crew.
This does not have much to do with the actual trailer, but I had such a terrible day and this made me laugh until my cheeks hurt so thank you. I think the four of them are my favorite combo for commentaries but I love any combo and will watch no matter what!
Spencer possesses all the subtlety of a sledgehammer...
The shark replent spray is kept in the helicopter not in the utility belt
Spencer giving NO shits about the hint for next week's trailer. Love it
Now you have to do the movie serials. That’s the first live action Batman.
Also, after hearing that Kung Pow reference you need to talk about that movie.
Fantastic episode, but how in the world do you not include the line "It happened at sea. C for Catwoman!" I'm going to write a letter of complaint with my ball point banana.
