Fun fact: Tasmanian Devils are able to spin around so fast they generate a tornado, which they can then use to smash through walls or cause general havoc. They are also able to speak rudimentary English, albeit with a lisp.
also bandicoots can do i think

Fascinating 🧐
I need to catch that one so I can train him!!!!! Their power level is amazing!
Maybe in cartoons

Wait a minute! Why they aren't spinning?
only when they see a rabbit or a duck.
***** Yes it's real.
***** Take the internet seriously, seriously.
+Slayerx49 Well these are the same cartoons that say that rabbits can eat carrots and be completely fine.
PIKACHEW CHEW CHEW they really do spin around but only when it feels threatened
I wonder how many people only know about these animals because of the Looney Tunes character :P
Those people are cultured
Unexpected i always new I’m Tasmanian
how many?
"all" many
Yeap lol good times
I didn't even know till recently that the tasmanion devil was a type of animal. I thought the tasmanion devil character on looney toons was just a weirdly drawn cat.
This is why I love Australians so much

jumpsacres at 3:15 and 22:60
Bahahhahahah 😂😂😂😂😂
Crazy how it goes from adorable to terrifying when it opens its mouth. Like a chihuahua.
Rats in Australia are just
built different.
Keep in mind that "bite force" depends on the size of an animal, so they're not suggesting that their bite is more powerful than a lion's. It's just the most powerful relative to its size.
This has got to be the oldest comment I’ve ever seen are you even still alive

I'm so glad they seem to have found a cure for the Tassie Devil now. I really hope they succeed in saving this rare and beautiful creature.
What do you mean about a "cure" for the Tazmanian devil??????

Bleeperblopper497 bro I skimmed this whole video for that part 😂😂
Bleeperblopper497 Can you people stop asking why the aren't spinning that was a cartoon!
Back in 3rd grade my teacher asked me “what do Tasmanian devils eat”? I said everything. I blame Looney Tunes.
Turpin Tine Beats Ha Ha.
Its not exactly a wrong answer. I've read that their digestive system is almost as strong as their jaws, allowing them to digest even bones.
Especially wabbits
Wait, it doesn't spin like a tornado? Everything I thought I knew was a lie.
John Jones HA HA
John Jones i almost thought you said fucking eachothers faces
boy you dum for that
Your profile pic made this comment better.
Zandra Brookshire boy you dum for dat
Stayed at a large motel village lodge near cradle mountain and dozens of these came out and roamed the areas during the evening. They live up to their name with the screams you hear in the distance at night but up close they are cute and harmless. I wouldn't try and touch a wild one but I had one come walk around through my legs like it was a game.
even badgers can be cute lol
Sadly pretty rare to find in the wilderness. Just saw one dead in the street here in Tassie. But while camping I heard them from far away!
Tasmania is amazing. I love so much.
I think they’re hard to find because they’re avoiding you
@@Highbudget or Bc they’re going extinct lmao

A bloody devil she is!

When I was little and first saw Looney Tunes, I wanted to meet a tasmanian devil so much. Then I got older and researched what tasmanian devils were really like. Now? I still want to meet one. They're so cool!
Bugs Bunny had a lot of trouble with Taz, the Tasmanian Devil.

They supposedly have the strongest bite force - relative to their body size. The narrator needs to get his stuff together.
Thanks. I was really surprised when he said that.
Yeah a jaguar can bite right through a skull. And hippos? Definitely a script error
those "kangaroos" were fucking wallabies...
Where is Bugs Bunny?

I get scared when I hear a cat having sex at night.
I'd be freaking the fuck out if I heard one of these screaming in the middle of the night.
Glad they aren't native hear.
Lol, yes no kidding!
thats why they were called Tasmanian "devils", because the early european settlers heard their screams in the night, and believed they were ghosts or demons.
BriBri Haze hear?
Ashley Antunez I know you're not trolling the comments trying to spell check...That's all you could think of to post your self on to somebody's comment.Smh.😅
BriBri Haze she just don't get the pun you dint wanna "hear" them at night right? XD
It's basically the marsupial counterpart of the American wolverine?
maybe
Rozni Yusof it was the tasmanian tiger but now since almost 100 yrs. they are exint
Most wolverines are actually found in Canada. 'North American Wolverine' would be more appropriate, ignoring that large numbers are also found in Scandinavia.
I think the devil outmatches the wolverine by quite a bit. The devil's bite force is a lot stronger than the wolverines.
And the african honey badger
Why is there no Tornados?

TAZ NOT JUST A CARTOON CHARACTER ANYMORE!
LOL!
ITS AMAZING HOW TAZ SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE REAL THING!
when I was in first grade I actually thought they could spin...
Same
here in Tasmania, they are known fondly as Devils, not Tassies! Just love the researchers at National Geographic, your high academic standards are amazing.

It sounds like a dinosaur. They are very cute. I’ve been to Tasmania before.
one of the cutest animal on earth.
“The Tasmanian Devil’s head is bigger than its torso” Yep that sounds exactly how i looked when I was 5.
Honey Badger: "Am I a joke to you?"
Completely different continent
Exceptionally intimidating animals given their size.
I remember once few Tasmanian devils.escaped Pinjarra zoo in WA and 2 of them broke into a house nearby and they chewed wall tiles and toilet seats as well.
You can imagine their bite force as they can bite thru ceramics toilet bowl as well.
Tasmanian devil-
An animal version of my brother
I would say that even though their head is disproportionately large, their jaws are actually quite small compared to its head, which is probably why they have the most powerful bite force per square inch
I was actually going to make a comment similar to this. It's not that the Tasmanian devil has the strongest bite force of any animal in the animal kingdom. It is that it says me and devil has the strongest bite force relative to its size, then any other
Imagine accidentally biting your tongue with that strong bite force, lol
Ouch!!!
@@GangstaSpongmonkey wow took me one year to get a comment and a like lol 😆 😂
So that’s what a actual Tasmanian Devil looks like
In fact, when tamed, very kind and faithful
I'm surprised it's not also incredibly venomous as well. From the nature shows it seems like every critter in Australia is the most venomous of its kind in the world.
I'm sure a secondary infection from a Taz bite is very likely.
Myth: Tasmanian Devil, strongest PSI bite force in an animal? Not true. They’re around 20 pounds in weight and their PSI is 200. They do however process the strongest bite compared to their body size among any other animal, which means their BFQ would be considerably higher.
+LiVByTheGuN They said the strongest bite force pound for pound, you know ,by size. Pay attention.
+Ian Jackson They said strongest bite force than any mammal
Yeah they forgot to say bite force "quotient", I suppose they just assumed we'd realize that.
Those things look like they would make wonderful and adorable pets!
How these can be so cute and frightening at the same time?
they make that urging sound when ur constipated and u just can't get it out.
You'd be surprised how accurate the Looney Tune's portrayal of a Tasmanian devil is. I mean sure, it's exaggerated for comedy, but personality-wise, the resemblance is uncanny (heck, in terms of temperament I'd say they probably toned the thing down!).
Although Taz looks nothing like them, he sure has the EXACT same temper!!
“It’s powerful and strong”. Me:”So adorable”
Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania, Come to Tasmania
What's sad is that Taz's fight regularly tell eachother to move when feeding, by biting eachother's faces, this is fairly common. And the resulting injuries turn into life threatening tumors. Its killing them off :(
A bite from a devil is definitely a bad day
Tasmanian devils might possess a sense of aggression towards anyone or anything that have the call the call it cute.
I don't know why I was expecting them to spin...Screw reality, so boring!
Me too man . I was expecting spins however it was not too boring
Beleth They eat bones and growl like monsters. Fuck cartoons reality is enough.
Ik right
Or yell
"BLABOODOOLALOOLAA"
Luciano Hernandez lol. Exactly.
Aww cute
They’re back in Australia!
wow strongest bite than any other living mammal, stronger than lions and Tigers and bears, oh my
looks nothing like taz from Looney Tunes :( plus they don't spin :(
TheCydiaGamer just like the ride the ride spins they just does that so it would be more intertaning
Bugs Bunny doesn't look all that much like a real rabbit either.
@@dondragmer2412 he looks more like a bunny than Taz looks looks like the real thing
One thing Looney Tunes got right is the massive head to body ratio, though. I came here to see if the devils actually made ugly screaming sounds like Taz.
Bet people in the 18th century were like "awww how cute let me..."
I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one witch was waiting for the tornado spinning 😂
They are adorable :)
Wow! It just goes to show you that size doesn't always matter in nature.
This comment is going to bring you back to this video 12 years later.
And a month later
Why aren't they spinning and sawing through stuff while screaming random gibberish?
This is clickbait!
NEVER MESS WITH THE DEVIL
I'm in Tasmania. Huon valley region. love this clip.
I WANNA KEEP THEM AS A PET!
U can
SAME
FROM WHERE DO WE BUY THEM ! AND HOW MUCH DO THEY COST
they are so cute
wild creatures are beautiful when they are wild.
"Has the strongest bite of any living mammal on earth". That is not quite true, they have a bit force of around 1200 psi which is incredible but is around the same as gorillas, spotted hyenas and polar bears depending, and doesn't beat the hippopotamus at 1800 psi.
The narrator forgot to say "relative to it's body size". They've much greater bite force pound to pound than their whole body weight. Almost all animal that your listed are 20 to 40 times larger than taz
@@mhdfrb9971 that does make more sense
@@azure9256 yup. I can't imagine if taz are as big as big cats. Their heads are so big compared to most animals in their size
I think they're talking about how Australia has so many deadly insects, animals, and sea creatures
When it comes to animal movies, I think Tasmanian Devils are among them underrated animals....
Loony Toons.
wheres bugs & daffy tho?
Lol he ate them
1:09 for Taz not looking anything like a real Tasmanian Devil i can actually kind of see Taz's body in this one
Fantastic footage
We'll guess what TAZ!!!?? HONEY BADGER DONT GIVA SHIT!!!
Wolverine will give them a run for they're money
Yeah, they sure would........I saw a documentry where this guy had 2 wolerines, and yeah, they would do Taz dirty.
Pound for Pound the Taz *DOES* have the strongest bite of any mammal
ToonandBBfan hmmm more than a hyena? The hippo has
@@RyanBz1299 he said pound for pound meaning if they were the same size or weight.
Andrew James Yeah but it isn’t so therefore the hippo has
@@RyanBz1299 he didn't say the tas has the strongest bite he said pound for pound. Maybe you don't know what that means.
Andrew James I do but I mean you can’t say an animal has the strongest bite when it doesn’t 😂 the hippo does of any living mammal and the salt water croc has the strongest bite of any living animal
“Tasmanian devil we spin off the block”. Offset
I love the sound they make. Sounds like a real battlecry. Scary as fuck!
They are so cute but man, those teeeeeeth! Lol. And that squawk! Not cute at all, indeed!
I saw a documentary in which a handler was cuddling one, and it wasn't tranquilized. They can be pretty cute when you get to know them. The trick is to get to know them.
Who is watching now in 2019 🤣🤣
To read the comments is the best part.
Wild Kratts..... that show made me love these things.
If you don’t know why people are saying “why arent they spinning” you need to watch some looney tunes
Imagine if these things got as big as polar bears😬😂
They would be op like the honey badger
In that line-up, hippos win: their bite force is 2000 lbs per square inch. However, Tasmanian devils come in second, at 1220 lbs. Lions clock in at 700 lbs and wolverines, sadly, come in last, at 400 lbs.
Grant you, a lion's jaws are a lot bigger than those of a Tasmanian devil, so I'd personally much rather be bit by the latter.
Super cool intro video. My son and I just watched this. Thank you.
Okay.. so Looney tunes lied. They don't spin!😥
No nat geo lied
@@hawkproductions7674 makes sense
Who do you think would win? Honey badgers, Tasmanian devils, or wolverines?
Honeydevils.
I'd put my money on the Honey badger.
I was about to ask the same thing when I read your comment. They're all such badasses.
Surplus Farts Not necessarily. The Honey Badger has beaten Lions, Hyenas, and is impervious to porcupine quills and killer bee stings. The Honey Badger is also immune to snake venom. It's hide is so tough that spears could not kill it. The Honey Badger is pretty Bad Ass
Surplus Farts There's a video right here on RUclips. It doesn't show the killing but it does talk about it; or you can just Google honey badger wiki.
"Tasmanian devil we spin on your block" Offset. Migos -straightening
