Halfords products always seem to get a bad wrap in the detailing community but they seem to have upped their game and the 500 came up really well. Our job is really to meet customers expectations so unless people ask for a single or two stage correction a wash and protection in the main meets both our and their satisfaction in my eyes. Good job done well and as usual a few tips gleaned for incorporating into my own routine. Thanks.
Great video, those Halfords products really do the job, which just shows that effective detailing doesn’t need to cost a small fortune. The little 500 looked amazing after wards, thank you for sharing this with us❤.
Well, I’ve just been and bought some of this range. Hopefully worthy of their ‘advanced’ brand like their tools are. Certainly looked half decent in your video 😊
I must say I’ve watched you for a while and I must say that you really do take your time and delicacy with each process very uniformly so I always know the products are getting tested to the fairest they can be put to the test
I was seriously impressed with the reactive wheel cleaner and I highly rate their interior quick detailer. For a long time I've used Auto finesse 'total' for interior cleaning, but I found the Halfords equivalent to be far superior.
As you mentioned in your video i came to see the ceramic coating as other brands are way way too expensive for a 500ml bottle but enjoyed your video throughout. That wheel cleaner did an amazing job and if i was a big-wig at Halfords and watched this video i would certainly be offering you a job in the detail side of Halfords running a small team and making and testing new products like the one you mentioned you would like to see. Great video and i watch hundreds of detailing videos but yours stood out for being thorough and explaining every detail from costs to applying it to the finish. .
Having watched this video when it was first released, I was massively impressed with the product range, and have been using the advanced range ever since. It's a fantastic video, indeed. I have liked and subscribed to this channel.
Some of the products look useful. Some products i am willing to pay the premium for the big brands but for things like tar remover, wheel cleaner and glass cleaner i see no reason to pay the extra for the fancy stuff the cheap stuff works well and its nice to know there is a place where you can just run in and grab something quickly. What would be nice is an overview of there cloths towels and mits etc , i always get burnt buying them online, everything i get tends to be a bit naff.
Bought the wheel reactive cleaner when you posted this as I was short of the proper stuff, yes was a snob and only got named stuff but today found it in the detail bag thought I’ll give it a go the stuff is brilliant blended up straight away rinsed the wheel of was clean say about 97% then went on with a Brush wheel mit shampoo clean as a whistle wish they sold it in bigger quantities
@@Mark-qe8zi Well I done quite a few customers cars over the years were all they want is it literally just cleaning… a wash & wax and a dry off… been doing this for 40 years and I’ve never had anyone complain yet… and some of my regular clients now still just have a really basic clean… and are more than happy with the results
Tried the citrus degreaser and the snow foam. Impressed with the snow foam, but used all of the degreaser on first application, which isn't cost effective, so won't bother getting any more of that.
Recently bought the Advanced Snow Foam and Reactive Wheel Cleaner, haven't got a bad thing to say about them. Will definitely be getting the shampoo and ceramic snow foam next time I'm down that way.

After many years of watching, happy for the product sponsorship and revenue for you. That being said, there seemed to be a need for lots of product to be used and it made hard work of the tougher grime unlike a Bilt Hamber equiv product. To use 1 bottle of de-greaser on a car that size seems to show the product is not great.
Most vids (including this one) aren’t paid and don’t generate any considerable revenue, they just represent a few ££ worth of free products to use which is great, I just don’t want people to think I’m raking it in when I’m not. In regards to the heavy cleaning, even on a small car like this, if it hasn’t been properly washed for 2+ years and lives under a tree then even the best stuff isn’t going to cut it in my experience, physical scrubbing and decontamination is the only thing that will get you there once dirt has become a certain level of ingrained.
@@CarCleaningGuru yeah no issue with your skills or how you present it, my point being if Halfords gave you a box of goodies I’d expect to be more than, not just enough to do a fiat 500. I’ve been using the same bottles of bilt hammer for 2 years for wheels, traffic film and fall out. Looks like you were struggling with 500ml. Maybe Halfords can double up for next time.
Decent stuff looks like. But that spray sealant...is in a choc a bloc market. Recrntly got the turtlewax graphene spray wax for 7.5/bottle. Works as well....
Now that was one impressive turnaround, just shows how a few hours work and using non branded expensive products can make a car very attractive again, especially if you were putting it up for sale. Great video matey.
I tend to clean my vehicles on a whim, so rarely have the gear I need. I do see the convenience of having half decent product within 10 min of my gaff but they also sell a whole load of competing products like autoglym/meguires etc. It'll be a hard push to convince me to spend similar money for Halfords brand product. Doesn't seem like a rip off or anything, but i'd have hoped it was either a bit cheaper or you got a bit more of it.
Would be interesting to know who actually manufactures the halfords products.. so many "brands" in detailing yet only a handful of actual manufacturers..
Great job on this car..... me i dry the areas where i spray the tar remover so the chemical sit in the tar and not the water on the area the you use less tar remover
Given the fact Halfords have just dropped autofinesse I suspect they just bypassed them and went straight to their supplier whilst slapping a new label on the bottle
Poor little Fiat really gave you a workout being so neglected! Well done! That colour though... it's identical to the Austin Allegro my grandmother used to drive in the 80's... really should have remained in the 80's...
The Halfords stuff seemed to do a good job. This may be a daft question but how do you clean your towels? A quick rinse or washing machine with detergents ?
All looked okay to me... but I tend to analyse cost and efficiency when thinking about different products and the ones I use are based on that thought process, because no matter what anyone sais the car will be dirty again in a week. There are no products that keep a car clean. Only products that clean dirty cars. 😄 Nothing in this video suggests Halfords products will save me time and money or do the job better. Good vid though. Thanks for that. 😄👊
Looking good joe, the new Halfords range of cleaning products looks promising and they seemed to bring the car up like new! So would be ok to use if you don’t get a chance to clean your car regular?. The prices are quite reasonable too.
It is a bit disappointing that they choose to match the competition in price rather than undercut it, bad move in my opinion Nice job on the car though!
How did you find the ceramic foam on the windscreen? Does it have a similar effect as Rain-X or similar products? I just hope it doesn't cause wiper judder. Edit: I didn't finish watching the video. I see you cleaned off the excess with the glass cleaner 😅

Old GoPro with baseball cap mount for shaky pov & Panasonic HCx1500 which I wouldn’t recommend as its sensor is too small so is terrible with anything other than perfect light.
I'm worried that while the range seems to do a decent job, it doesn't seem to offer value for money. Also the packaging might get lost against the turtle wax, meguiars, autoglym, auto finesse stands
Lower back used to give out when doing it full time now neck has taken over sitting in front of laptop so can’t win. The world isn’t built for tall people 🤷♂️.
Warm kiwi black boot polish to aid application. Gently rub over tyre with lint free cloth. Let dry. Buff with a brush. Perfect. £12+ for tyre gel? Do me a flavour. Simples.
