Thank you for going over all the changes! I read the patch notes, but I find your takes on how to make use of these changes very useful to get ideas for builds. Looking forward to the next video!
Ah the Risk of Rain 2 OST "rain formally known as purple" really gets me pumped for the "Survivors of the Void" DLC this coming Wednesday for consoles.. cant WAIT!
@WryHarpy no kidding! I've been waiting for this to come out since last year in February when I first picked up risk of rain 2 when it went on sale and decided to give it a try and LOVED the game! And to think I haven't looked up spoilers of the DLC despite it being on PC for almost (if not) 2 years at this point..
I already miss dull steel ring. Just the one nerf has made me come up with a different build. I understand it was pretty broken and a must have item if you was wearing high weight armour but man I loved the ring
Except in the first game you only had two ring slots, so you were giving up at least 50% of your rings power budget to have a light roll. In this game you have four slots, it was way too broken and limited armor options just by existing.@@mcmogg_incmogg2080
My standard Apoc build still works about the same, with a slight decrease in mod power generation, but it still melts groups and deals with bosses well enough.
I can hardly comprehend all of this but I try because this is the best game ever. I do not envy the guy who has to "balance" this game. Way above my pay grade
In regards to the Dran Scavanger Sigil regenerating 15% Health for 30s. I notice using the Explorer (starts with 100hp) that 15% is of course 15hp and then if you divide that by 30 you get 0.5 hp/s. Which is what the proc icon shows. This is making me wonder about some of the other rings that heal over time a percentage of health, cause when you look at things that give a flat amount they are between .334 and 2 per second.
Dran Scavenger: S/Fe/A pickup 15% over 30s 0.5hp/s Generating Band: With shield 3% per sec 3hp/s Low Yield Recovery Ring: After Kill 6% over 6s 1hp/s Ring of Grace: Taking enemy dmg 15% over 10s 1.5hp/s Steam Coupler: On Skill use 10% over 5s 2hp/s Fae Shaman: 0.334hp/s Reserve Boosting Gem: 0.333hp/s : 2hps
This video was quite informative, But I'm gonna ask a question since I'm I have found much of it Are the Corrupted Shards that came out during the end of October still available to be found? I've seen talk of how it is and people found two November first and second or so but I haven't had much luck Any knowledge is appreciated, don't really need them.. Just missing 2 of the 5 corrupted weapons
Yeah they are still possible to obtain. The aberrations that drop them have had their spawn chance reduced to their pre event value. I think the chance of them replacing a normal elite enemy spawn is about 1 in 4. There are other factors too with the spawn table that determine the flow of enemy spawns, so like you wouldn’t get multiple back to back in the same area like you would in the event. It’s unfortunate, hopefully they introduce another way to obtain them with the dlc coming in the 14th. I’d like to be able to convert all my extra corrupted lumenite to corrupted shards.
@@WryHarpy I see, I've tried a few times recently to get them to spawn and out of like 2 or 3 hours and around 15 lumenite crystals gained, 15 elites, I didn't really think they were still in Hearing a 1 in 4 chanve makes me feel I'm just unlucky, granted I say 2 to 3 and 15 lumenite but feel I got a bit more, just 15 is the minimum I agree with the dlc having more use and ways to get them, would be nice, appreciate the statistics, just like Remnant from the ashes, you're still super helpful! Thank you!
@@Flippirino So as far as we understand it. There is 2 requirements to get the new aberration spawns. #1 is to be on Veteran+ difficulty as the spawn rates are 5, 15, 25% for veteran, nightmare, and apocalypse respectively. The second requirement is to get a tile with an intensity of 3, whatever that actually means. If you get both you'll have a %chance of an aberration to spawn instead of an elite. However my theory for intensity 3 tiles is how often an elite spawns on them (not set piece elites that you find like in Losomn but random ones that spawn)
If that comment was referring to the most recent patch where they added a skill cooldown reduction cap I’d kinda agree. The October patch though was undoubtedly about bringing up the defensive trinkets to make them more enticing. Bright steel ring was 100% too strong in the 1 neck & 4 ring system so I completely understand why it was changed. Obviously there’s a plenty more trinkets, gear etc. that could use the same treatment. Hopefully in the future patches we get more balance passes that improve the rest of R2.
They buffed items that nobody used but it's still not worth it because you need to use specific tanky builds wich doesn't really make sense because using tanky archetypes or consumables is enough for that, especially the heart that regenerates health. Nice video but the items are not usefull at all, they are just balacing the trinkets all around so they fit better with their dlc probably. Still waiting for "pieces of the puzzles" for some builds like heat generating guns, the handguns, better mods etc
Mods definitely need a balance pass. 85% of them feel like dead weight unless you run archon. We have gotten a few more pieces of equipment for heat guns and charged shot weapons in these last 2 patches, but there could definitely be more. Hopefully the other 2 DLCs introduce more synergistic items.
From what Tragic has stated those rings were never supposed generate mod power through active mods. I considered adding them them in the vid but since they were listed as bug fixes I ended up leaving them out.
Thank you for going over all the changes! I read the patch notes, but I find your takes on how to make use of these changes very useful to get ideas for builds. Looking forward to the next video!
I don't really have much to comment, but I wanted to comment for the algorithm. Hoping to see more of your videos during the first DLC!
This was definitely helpful. Definitely gonna be sharing this to my friends that play

The RoR2 music makes me happy.
One might even say its.. *Electric* 🪕⚡️

It’s not broken well it wasn’t, it was in the first game and giving up a ring slot for fast dodge is the price
I used to play the game everyday. The fact they changed that ring ruined the game for me. Tried misty flip but it sucks
No matter your weight class. Just need practice with backstep dodging. It's the best way to dodge in the game.

@@mcmogg_incmogg2080 pretty sure 80% DR with fast roll is broken lol

This video made me want a remnant/risk of rain crossover
Mfer is that the risk of rain 2 soundtrack? (it is)
Great video!! Music a bit loud tho.
Yeah sorry about that 😅
When I was finishing up editing last night I was dozing off and wasn’t paying attention to the music volume.
This is the way. Instead of nerfing rhe things that broke the game you buff the things to make them viable. Big brain
When or is the first DLC out. Idk. Cause my store don’t show it since I got the ultimate. Also not even to the 3rd world just curious. Nice vid btw
The first dlc will be out on the 14th of this month. So pretty close 👀
@@WryHarpy awesome, idk why but I love both these games and they don’t get nearly the credit they deserve I think.
@@WryHarpyIsn't it the 12th?
@@FelisImpurrator I just checked the remnant 2 website to be sure. It says the 14th on all platforms. I wish it were earlier though lol.
