    What else is worth mentioning is that on the Expert and Advanced+ setting you want to keep a couple of meters away from the wall as when taking off it gets super critical and mushes off the wall - if you’ve taken off there you’re gonna air drop and/or get sucked into the crumbling lip. I saw so many experienced surfers get absolutely mashed on take off with boards slapping off the concrete wall... :(

      Another thing not mentioned during the briefing is the flat spot in the middle section it can catch you out making the wave feel like it’s lost it’s punch, but that’s just before it gets shallower again for the barrel section. If you’re on the intermediate and advanced settings it’s a good idea to make use of the wall on the first section to generate speed. 🤙

      Good bit of advice there - thanks for mentioning it :) You enjoying your sessions there?

      Only had the one spontaneous session on the advanced left and to be fair, after having about 4 hours sleep from the previous two nights (camping and then driving down at midnight from East Yorkshire) I had a decent session considering I’ve been surfing a year, I only bailed the take off on a couple of waves, though I was running on fumes and adrenaline by the time the session started. 😂 On reflection I do think the pricing is a touch steep and makes it exclusive rather than inclusive, would I pay to go again? Without doubt. However I think that the settings offered do not match the requisite surfing ability, maybe a step down unless I’m doing well. I also feel needs to be one more setting/option between beginner and intermediate and less people in those sessions for safety’s sake due to the bigger boards used and the lack of control/ability of the users. It didn’t make for a great experience of a lady friend of mine who got chopped on the ankle by someone’s fin on the first wave!

      Stoked For Travel Yes, thinking of going again soon! Don’t suppose you know which wind direction is best for it? Sounds silly, but in later in the morning when I was there a cross wind really picked up and it started to affect the wave quality. 😅

      @@3rdtonefromthesun ive just looked on a satellite map and it is built kind of NNW-SSE (facing SSE) so south easterly ideally but anything with south in it should be ok

    Board size ? 5'5 30Litres or my 5'9 27L - surfing expert and advance wave ?

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  4 года назад

      Hmmmm tough call - you’ll be fine on either but I’d go with the board you’re most comfortable on in punchy, hollow waves. Better still take both and you can always swap out mid session!

      Everyone misses a few waves at the start so don’t worry too much! They do also do intermediate lessons too which is the perfect way to experience it for your first session and get some confidence 😊🤙
