    Great list! I did a little double take when I saw Bristol but then remembered the wave pool 😄 I’d love to go back to Muizenburg, like you said, it’s probably one of the best places in the world to learn to surf.

      Muizenberg for the win hey?! Need to get back there again when the borders open up!

    Hey Chris, haven’t seen you since uni glad to see your doing so well. I learnt to surf in Ubatuba Brazil. I got into the Brazilian martial arts of capoeira and Brazilian jiu jitsu over the last few years and a lot of the people involved in those surf. Currently living in Bristol so the wave pool and a few other places. Nice one bro!

    Thanks,
    I would appreciate 15 spots to advance from experienced beginner( catching green face, positioning, angling take offs, basic top and bottom turns) to intermediate level, (cutbacks, acceleration down the wave, more vertical manoeuvres...).
    Thank you.
    Michael.

      Hey Michael - stoked you like the video! Yeah that's another guide I'm looking at creating! Off the top of my head the Maldives (Cokes/Chickens/Jailbreaks), Bali (Canggu/Bingin/Balangan/Medewi), Sri Lanka (Sticks/Hikadua/Lazy Lefts/The Rock), Australia (heaps of spots!) and Siargao in the Philippines would all be great spots to push your skills further 😊

      @@StokedForTravel thank you so much.
      What turns me off most are crowds. I feel unsafe, stressed, afraid to hit or be hitted.
      I find the Maldives super crowded. And extremely expensive.
      Penich, lagos are great. Very wide beaches and surf to choose from.
      Sri Lanka is a gem if you go off the peak hours.
      So if you have anything in mind which is not crowded I would appreciate it.
      I believe El Salvador and Nicaragua are good targets. Will appreciate info for good schools and accommodation.
      Thanks.
      Surf is up tomorrow.

      @@michaelsnir6779 yeah that's fair enough. The best advice I'd say then is to hit up spots during shoulder season - it'll mean lower prices and less crowds :)
      Nicuragua is a solid choice - check out Dreamsea, they've got a really nice setup out there!

    The Pass in Byron is a good beginners wave but it always super crowded. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners.

      @StokedForTravel  11 месяцев назад

      Really depends on the time of year and swell, if you don’t head to the actual point and down the beach a bit towards clarkes it’s the same great wave but waaaaaay less people!

    This is a great clip, Umm in Australia there is at least 12 on the east coast alone. So thank you for not sharing. Byron is probably the least favourite due to the shitstorm It is these days and it’s popularity. But great spots you listed all the same👍

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  3 года назад

      Glad you liked it! Indeed so many along the east coast but had to narrow it down...or make a separate video 🤣
      Indeed Byron is a bit hit and miss with the crowds, but still has some epic days especially for learners 🤙
      Any spots you’d add in?

    Bro Montanita is NOT A FOR BEGINNERS YOU ARE RUINING THESE SPOTS WITH KOOKS I HAVE LIVED THERE FOR MONTHS MONTANITA IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  3 года назад +5

      I disagree. I coached there for a few seasons and plenty of good beginner waves, there and the surrounding beaches. The point is certainly not beginner, but like anywhere, on the right size swell it’s heaps of fun. But obviously having lived there for a few months you’re a total expert
