I opened TD US bank account, but they refuse to change my mailing address to my new American address that I opened. They are asking for a recent bill with the new address. Any ideas? Tnx in advance!!!!!!!
Thanks for all that great info, I've done all the steps and just got the ITIN, thanks to your guide for guidance. FYI just to help out add more options to your post, I went with TD Bank USA since it's super easy and they are actually pretty good, the only difference is that I went for TD Bank's 'VISA TD Cash Credit Card, which they also use your Canadian credit score when applying, like the American Express option. You can already start using it and build up US credit while doing the ITIN stuff, and apparently you can link that credit to your ITIN when you get it, I'm about to try and do that, we'll see how that goes. Cheers man, thanks again for all the great info,
Hey when you applied for your itin, did you get a reference support letter? Amazon kindle / smash mouth apparently wont give one out. so im not sure if i just try mailing the form in without it or if i try printing the letter that prince of travel has posted on his blog..
Also if you applied for amex via nova credit, when you checked the on the application "apply with canadian credit history" do you get a 3rd party window that opens for additional information ? iv been trying to get applied with amex using my cad history with no luck for over a month now since the application doesnt have enough "information"
@@justin-mu1oc I just checked the box saying I'm Canadian in the application form and then after submitting the app got an email asking to call them. They verified some info over the phone and ran a live credit check and was approved right then and there, customer service agent was great, no intrusive questions really. Hope this helped.
@@Geekboarder well then.. out of curiosity, Did you have a american express canada credit card prior ? I dont so im wondering if maybe thats why im having so many issues with it. And i see, i guess il just call the irs tmr and go over what i should send them before mailing my forum to them.
1 Get a U.S. address (mail forwarding address, that's not a commercial mail receiving agency) 2 U.S. bank account 3 Amex global transfer - your Cdn credit file will be assessed for a credit card 4 Get an ITIN. Set up a biz account (publisher of ebooks) on Amazon.com Takes 4-6 weeks to receive ITIN by mail. 5 Apply for a credit card.
Receivings dividends from a US company is also an easy way to be eligible for an ITIN ;) However, you should have started by the ITIN thing. It's the main step, you have to wait the end of the year + 4 to 7 weeks to get it.
I got my first US Credit with Bank of America about 3 years ago but I don’t seem to be able to get any other cards. I did not need an SSN or the Tax number. I applied as a Canadian and voila!

Just an FYI when contacting Amazon for a letter of documentation to apply for the ITIN. If you already have a business number associated with your Kindle Self Publishing Account they will not give you the letter. That being said you might be able to get it if you take the tax interview again and make some changes.
Actually, you can still use a CMRA. By stating that as a mailing address. I will leave it up to you to figure out what to put down on the application, as your permanent address. Hint: all your Cards and Statements will go to the mailing address! Nothing will be sent to your “residence”.
I got my 1st US card with TD, so easy they can acess your canadian credit file to approve you also. You wanna be sure to put 6-7 month of credit history using your 1st US card before applying directly with other issuers in the US as it's the time it'll take to calculate your new US credit score. *Forget Chase Sapphire cards if you don't have at the very least, 1year of credit history and 700 Fico.
Just out of curiosity, where do you stand now in US Credit? I had tried with TD using my one year old Canadian file, but was rejected. Most likely for to many inquiries and recent credit. I will try again in another 90 days, this will be 120 days later. However, I did start a credit builder loan and got both a Cap. One M/C and a retail account going, last month. I’m trying to figure out what cards to apply for next. I agree 5-6 months is required to get a 700 FICO Score. Thinking Bank of America, or Citibank, once I get up to 700! Would love to hear what cards came after your TD Card. Thanks!

For those who are in dire need of a credit report patch, credit card hack, bank hack, and bank loan, I have a little testimonial to offer. I was also stuck a few months ago, a few months ago, I applied for a home and car loan and was denied because my score was under 470 with some negatives (including eviction, collection, bankruptcy, derogatory accounts, expiration, hard investigations and a trial), he was very devastated and perplexed. I ran into an old friend and explained to him that he is a former credit card and FICO broker, but now a computer, Yuri, who hacks everything like PayPal, bank accounts, credit card payment, bitcoin, Western Union transfer and helps you catch a cheating spouse hacking and gaining access to your phone (both text messages and call history are deleted). Is there a way for me to transfer the card to the new US business entity? The new business would take over the activities of the old one. Any hacks for that?
May I please ask a question? Once I have my ITIN, do I simply insert the ITIN into where I would otherwise insert my Social Security number on the credit card application form?
IANAL / IANAA. Not sure if you're still wondering. Spoke with a US tax accountant. Signup bonuses (with the condition that you'd have to spend $x to get y amount of points) are not considered taxable income, but referral bonuses are. You can file on your T1 because of Canadian / US treaty, but if you receive a slip from referral bonuses, you'll have to file.

It ISN'T legal. Now years ago (when this video was made) when enforcement was relatively lax, some slipped through the cracks. This permitted the application of US ITIN's and opening of US bank accounts. Since then though they really started closing loopholes. As a matter of fact, even one who actually LIVES in the US but is not a citizen/permanent resident (let's say on work/student visas) must show documents and declare themselves foreign nationals. They would have receive annual W-8BEN. If you opened your bank account online, yes there is still a chance that you might get away with for a while. But just understand that you are committing fraud.
When’s you say amarican and Canadian canadaian Canadians actually are amarican because Canadians are on the American continent. America is not a country. It’s actually a continent. I think you’re referring to US America because America is a continent.
@Prince of Travel - What are the tax implications of declaring a US address and getting a Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) from Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? Many countries, including Canada require you to file a tax return even if you don't have any income to declare. US in particular is very aggressive about these things and I believe has a $100,000/yr fine to start for not filling income taxes. Filing income taxes for the US in Canada is not cheap and an entanglement with US federal government is not very smart. Have you spoken with any US certified accountants? That is the most critical step you need to look into first, verify and share with your audience before you make a post like this! You may be over your head and not even know it.
You can use this tool: www.irs.gov/help/ita/do-i-need-to-file-a-tax-return IANAL / IANAA. I spoke with a US tax accountant a few days ago because I was also worried. The act of having an ITIN itself does not imply that you have to file taxes, and the IRS tool shows that if you have less than something like $12k income, you do not need to file. However, if you get a tax slip from the banks for referral bonuses (only those are taxable, not signup bonuses), you will have to file them, but you can file under your Canadian T1 because of the CAD / US treaty. To the IRS, when you apply for an ITIN, you're declaring that you're a non-resident alien planning on making income in the US. The only iffy part is that you're telling the US banks that you live at a PO box. While the T&Cs of the cards do not say that you must be a US citizen / resident to keep or apply for a card, the SUB does say so. So the only part that's kinda 'iffy' and 'grey' is that you're pretending to be a US resident to the bank for the bonus purposes.
@@thereisnoaddress I strongly suggest that you switch CPA's. First of all, ITIN's are only for nonresident aliens or one who is claiming a tax treaty. If you live in Canada (which by definition means you don't pass the substantive presence test, you're not eligible to have an ITIN unless you're claiming a tax treaty. Years ago yes, it was possible. These days it is not. As a matter of fact, UNLESS you are a US nonresident alien AND have filed taxes, you're ITIN will expire. It will also expire if your visa status (should you be on one) expires. And you should be VERY careful when playing around with ITIN's. Because doing so means you're declaring yourself (potentially) to be a US resident for tax purposes, which means you will be both subject to FATCA AND potentially opening your Canadian income to the IRS for taxation (since the US taxes its residents on worldwide income).
what if you're American living in Canada but you never worked in the States, you only have a U.S citizenship, will they make you pay taxes as soon as they receive word that you opened up a US bank account?
@@lamujermaslinda If you are an American citizen, you're supposed to pay taxes on your worldwide income (after hitting certain threshold) regardless of whether you have a US bank account.
As much as I would love to have a U.S credit card, I think the whole process of lying to financial institutions and IRS is just too much. Lying to the IRS is serious business.

Is it legal to creat a bank account with chase by using the Address you have for 24/7 ship parcel? Like if you tell them that that’s your US address where you live is that illegal?
Hey man quick question:
Once you get the cc from the usa, does the cc american company reports to the CANADIAN credit bureaus or AMERICAN credit bureaus ??
Thanks man
American ones!
Does this work for say an Australian to make it work for a USA card
aweseome and thanks
Hey, great videos. I'm learning alot.
I was looking at getting a cross border account and was wondering if a savings account would suffice instead of getting the chequing account?
It made my credit score go up to 821 in just 5 business days, removing all the negatives with the inclusion of some Registered Users business lines. I promised to expose the hacker's competition to the world if I could restore my dead credit score!

24/7 parcel according to USPS is now considered CRMA now. Is there another company that valid for being able to ship credit cards to Canada?
Still looks like COMMERCIAL MAIL RECEIVING AGENCY: N to me.
Prince of Travel ahh all the ones close to Vancouver are CRMA Y after checking again. Is it possible to ship to the location that is by Toronto and mail forward to Vancouver?
How should I add my ITIN to the Amex card? How long should i be waiting for a business card? 3 Months?
Seb V 3 months that’s to long, if approved it should of came by now.
would you still need to make a US bank account if you have a USD checking account with ur canadian bank?
Yes! Because you need an American address to get the credit card and I assume when you created the US checking account u had a Canadian address.
@@SuzieQ90 do you know if it's illegal to have use a forwarding mail service as your American address?
@@lamujermaslinda No I don't think so, as long as they're able to forward your mail to you. But I heard you do have a time frame so just double-check with that
@@SuzieQ90 I'm really worried about this because I was born in the States and my citizenship is the only connection I have to the US but I never worked there and I'm reading some of comments on this video that the whole process of opening up a US bank account and using a mail forwarding service address to obtain a credit card is illegal and also, opening up a US account could have tax implications.
@@lamujermaslinda honestly if you feel in your heart you shouldn't then Don't.

When you try to open up an account with the CIBC US bank account, will they need some US ID that shows your US address?
Also BMO Harris is very easy, as well as TD!
Kind of illegal. On the contracts you sign with the banks it says you must be a US person. If there were to notice they could cancel your accounts.
I'd say it's definitely a grey area.

👏👏👏🔥🔥 Best video from a Credit card RUclipsr for years,,,, Many of us don't live in the US
Hey! I have an Amex Business Platinum card here in Switzerland and I'm about to open a new business in the US (new company, no physical presence in the US though). Is there a way for me to transfer the card to the new US business entity? The new business would take over the activities of the old one. Any hacks for that?
Sounds like you could do an Amex Global Transfer to the US!
May I please ask a question?
Once I have my ITIN, do I simply insert the ITIN into where I would otherwise insert my Social Security number on the credit card application form?
Yes!
@@PrinceofTravel Thank you SO MUCH for your quick response. Very much appreciated.
Best regards,

Thanks for the information!
Are there any tax implications? I thought the IRA sometimes treats point rewards as taxable income.
@Keep Rocking!you know what they meant!
Does this work the other way around?
if i apply for american express card which the charges be converted from usd to cad?
NO. Any US Based Card will always bill in USD!
Just as Canadian Cards bill in CAD!
Brother I am from india how can I get aeroplan card
Can you apply for multiple Amex cards via global transfer?
Mixed data points on this. Many people have been able to do one application via Nova Credit and then another via Global Transfer over the phone.
@prince of travel or anyone else.. can you tell me when you apply for a amex card through credit nova if there is suppose to be a nova credit window that pops up after clicking "apply with international credit history" to ask for more information?
@justin did you use 24/7 parcel? thanks
I thought you weren't able to apply for Chase Cards anymore with an ITIN? Is this still accurate?
Still getting approved with my ITIN no problem.
to churn US cards will still need to meet the min spend in USD right?
so how would that work?
Yes, your spending would just get converted to USD at the mid-market rate. The good news is that most of the best US cards don't have any foreign exchange fees.
@@PrinceofTravel cool, so assuming CAD to USD is 10:9 conversion to make it simple
I spend 100 in CAD, it will be 90 in USD and I will need to make the payment of $90 USD and thats all, no other fee
and using something to exchange the CAD to pay off the bill?
Lets just say my credit score is like 500, with two or 3 active collections, will Apple still accept me? I hear theyre accepting everyone.
Two or three active collections? Ambitious. Sort that out first before worrying about getting more cards.

24/7 Parcel is for Ontario only, which one would you recommend for the rest of Canada? I live in Quebec. I've also read this on their website: * IMPORTANT NEWS * We are sad to announce the end of the courier service to/from Canada.
Parcel receiving service at all 24/7 PARCEL locations remains unaffected, and operates as usual.
For Ontario, the courier will continue to operate until the end of December with reduced scheduled deliveries from weekly to monthly at the end of each month.
This is their courier service. Their mail forwarding service remains very much intact, and it's good for all of Canada.
Do I have to open an account in US bank in order to apply for an amex credit card?

What phone number do we use when we apply, ? Do they send card to that address?
Use your Canadian phone number
how can i confirm that this is legal? something about masquerading as a US resident with financial institutions raises some red flags for me.
Is this still applicable in 2021?
Very much so!
You can use this tool: www.irs.gov/help/ita/do-i-need-to-file-a-tax-return
IANAL / IANAA.
@@mindreader68 Not If I never worked in the States or earned any income there.
