The E in stem is for engineering. Not English. Nonetheless very cool. What you’re doing. Thanks.

Hey! I see that you’re using foam in your system. Is this plastic foam? Do you have an option for plastic free foam? Microplastic seems to become the next big climate and health crisis, so we need to elimiate it from as many products as possible.

We use Matrix Media inside the Tower to keep the roots stable. This media is made from recycled water bottles and has a long lifespan. From the experience of our ZipGrowers, Matrix Media typically lasts 3 to 9 years!

@@ZipGrowInc Thanks for the reply. Super cool that you're using recycled material. Does the Matrix Media degrade? What happens to it? does the water break down the plastic? I'm still concerned with the shedding of microplastic into the water, and into the food. This could be a big problem, and I fear that it could be a big PR disaster for the whole vertical / non-traditional farming industry if it turns out that the veggies are full of plastic particles. I'm sorry if I sound paranoid but this really worries me. Your work is super important and I'm such a big fan of innovative food production, but we have to tackle the plastic problem.
