Thank you guys for a well-done and informative video. Thank you for actually SHOWING the action (as much as possible given the tight spaces). While I won't be performing the job myself, I feel like I can have an educated conversation with my mechanic. Kudos to you both!
The fan clutch nut is Reverse Threaded! Turn it CLOCKWISE. I bent the pulley holder tool trying to turn it counterclockwise (Tool still works. My son was impressed by my strength. lol)
Thanks for this nice video... 2 small remarks: 1. always try to keep the fan clutch in a vertical position (same as operating one) for various reasons it looses performance when it is in a different position (thats why I'll always buy it at BMW they take care of keeping it like that (not the other suppliers - worst is obviously parcel delivery: they do not know / care ! 2. you should have taken the opportunity to change the thermostat as well, another weakness of our old Z3 !). All the best !
After bleeding the system without the car running (in accessory mode) do you close the bleeder before starting the car? Best video out btw. I saved it haha & it's making it EXTREMELY helpful doing my z3 pump replacement. Gracias!
The 6M bolts I purchased from local hardware store are 100 & threaded fine into the new pump....thanks for the heads up,they might not fit the existing pump. Dang...I find out soon I guess. I would've never considered it. Much appreciated
My fan is wobbling also I have a water leak in the water pump but now I can’t drive it because the fan bent to the side and fan is touching radiator I was wondering should I buy a water pump and fan kit
How do you know if your model needs an auxillary fan? I am looking at a 200 BMW Z3 Roadster 2.3 with front end collision damage and can't tell if it every had an auxiliary fan to begin with.
Thanks for the kind comment! With the world coming back online after Covid, we've just had less and less time to edit videos. The Z3 started to take a back seat to the Civic, which is getting prepped for rallies in 2023. So the Z3 is just a daily driver right now.
Disregard. It is the M6-100. I tried again, the bolt goes right in finger-tightening at first, then a few turns with the wrench and the pump slid right out. I used a 100mm length bolt.

Thank you for making this very informative and amusing video, I referred to it while replacing my wife's Fan, Pump, and clutch.

Thanks! I just ordered a new water pump as I know they’re prone to fail. My car has over 150k miles, so I’m doing a lot of replacements 🥵
Very informative. Well done!
You guys made it fun thanks

Can you have a link or description of the water pump? Idk why most utubers dont post the parts they use
What size M6 bolt? The M6-100 x 100 doesn't work, the threads don't match. I can't find an M6-1.25 x (what ever length) anywhere.

Be good if you guys could do a rocker cover gasket replacement video 👍🏻
Well done. Looking to do this to mine. Might I ask why did you not do the thermostat and radiator while you were in there?

What brand water pump & fan clutch did you go with? Are they OEM or aftermarket? How are they holding up?
Thanks for the video! Is the fan clutch bolt opposite threaded? Looks like you loosened it normally?
So fun to always watch your Z3 tutorials! Why did you stop with the Z3, sold it?

THANKS
Could you guys please link the kit you bought?
Are those bolts you use to pull the water pump out the same ones that come out to hold it in?
The bolts needed to pull the pump out are 6M & bolts holding the pump in are 10M.
I got my 6M bolts at Value home center (2")
Where did you find that tool?
Did you ever find one
@@cdotson0027 Yes! On Amazon. Roughly $20.
Amazing video! Do you guys have instagram, facebook, tiktok or another social network to follow you?
