Agreed! He might try to bring Aerith in as leverage to save the space program, and once he sees things aren't going his way this could be when he cuts ties with Shinra completely. Then the escape sequence happens leading to the Tiny Bronco finally getting shot down
FF7 cid and vincent character designs single-handed pulled me into FF7. My brother had the strategy guide and I used to watch him play FF7 and 5 and having been playing the franchise ever since. I picked up FF8 a week after discovering the franchise and is probably why it's my arguable favorite of the franchise. I could see cid just being a pilot until part 3. Your theory on the reward is spot on imo.

I remember playing FF7 before I could even read and once I could actually understand what was going on I loved this game even more. We’ll see what’s up with Cid once we get our hands on this game, but I could totally see him being sarcastic in that little snippet. I feel like even Aeriths facial expression is like “is this guy serious?”
@@EikonicGamer was that a behemoth summon at one point? Once I beat ff8, I wrote up an ff8-2 and had behemoth, iron giant and griever be extra summons in game. Be great if at least behemoth got pushed in FF7 as a summon, though it could also have been Galiant Beast. The lightning blast it fires off makes me think it's not though. It's way overdue. No playable Vincent or cid is dumb ASF. Red being the only new character after the be that was FF7 on PS4 not getting integrade.
Don’t forget we have Cait Sith to play as too! And of course Yuffie for anyone who didn’t play intergrade so we’ll have three new members thrown into the mix. I imagine the devs wanted us to have two more combats to look forward to for part 3. And as far as the behemoth summon goes are you referring to Kujata? That summon was in OG FF7 as well

The game is gonna be insane. I wonder if we will actually fight a weapon in part 2. I'd love it if all the weapons were part 3 only though I won't complain if we get one lesser one now. Just give us the Klaxon fight. I could see emerald wrap being man made from the ruins of Klaxon by shinra. They make proud clod soooooo maybe a new boss from each defeated weapon could be cool. They always felt like the perfect counter to summons, which ff14 ended up using. A new FF that focuses solely around summons versus weapons akin to FF16 summon vs summon would go hard.
That implies that Rocket Town is going to be significantly different if his story arc starts in Rebirth. Oooooh, that's an interesting idea, and honestly, I'd be so down for that. It would give Cid a much greater role in the story, and that's exactly what Square has been aiming for with all the side characters in this remake project. Nice one, dude!
Granted I could see them making changes to Cid but they kept Barrett’s personality accurate to the original and they didn’t make Don Corneo any less of a disgusting human being. I don’t think CID will be outright cruel to Sheera maybe he will come off as an asshole but at the end of the day I think they can respectfully drive home the point that maybe CID isn’t the most likable guy around but like all the characters in this world we can find something underneath his cold exterior that makes us root for him. I trust the creators to do cid justice. I think he will still smoke too all things considered They let President Shinra light one up in his board meeting in remake. Trust in the creators, trust in their version, I trusted them with remake and I think they did all the characters wonderful justice even characters that didn’t have a story in the original like Don Corneo’s right hand man, Leslie. I think the creators will do everybody justice and people shouldn’t worry too much just enjoy the experience.

Interesting idea but I just can't see them deviating that much and having a whole new subplot about Cid trying to sell the party out. I could maybe see them restructuring the game's events and cutting Rocket Town like they have Wutai. But because from a gameplay perspective, we need some taxi fast travel system to fly us back to previous regions, maybe they are pushing the introduction of Cid forward even if they are pulling Rocket Town back. And then in Part 3 we arrive at Rocket Town and his story begins. But who knows? Also I think Cid will be mostly unchanged. Gotta bear in mind that even though Cid is being polite here, it's one line of dialogue. We don't know what he's like the rest of the time. It's also not too dissimilar to the line where he agrees to go with you to get back at Shinra.

He’s a good guy underneath it all and was never really harsh towards Aerith to begin with. For all we know he was being a major jerk right before the snippet we saw lol. He also could’ve been completely sarcastic when he said that to Aerith haha. But I really am starting to wonder if Rocket Town will be saved for part 3. It’s kind of making sense but we’ll see

As an artist it is genuinely insane to me the marvel they've managed to pull off here. Then add on top of that the open world areas between the towns and it is genuinely insane. I wouldn't be shocked if they gave Rocket Town a miss and just use Cid as a taxi service for now. And I wouldn't be upset. Also have to factor in that maybe Zack will be seeing some new areas of Midgar perhaps (maybe the areas from the Yuffie DLC??) For the Highwind I could imagine them doing like another version of the world map with less detail, that you can't fly super close to, and the ground is slightly obscured by the clouds around you, you're quite high up in the stratosphere, and when you approach a location you see a mile below you, you see a Disembark option to land on it. If you ever played FFXI MMO, the game is made up of zones, but the Airship had a similar thing where it had a facsimile of the world map below you as you fly through the sky. I just would love to get to fly the Highwind all around the planet, but I imagine the Tiny Bronco would just be a loading screen fast travel type of thing for now.

Unfortunately XI is the only one I’ve missed out on. Heard nothing but great things though. I played the crap out of XIV and really wanted to hop into XI but I think I was too sucked into XIV to give XI a fair shot. I’d still like to try it out though. I wouldn’t mind if the Highwind operated like that either. At the end of the day if I’m having fun and enjoying myself I can’t complain about how they decided to handle certain mechanics such as the Highwind.
@@EikonicGamer FFXI was honestly only really good in its hayday before they raised the level cap from 75, so if you were planning on playing it after you've already played FF14, then you're better off sticking with 14. TBF, I wasted faaaaar too much of my life to that game, it's one of those things where you have fond nostalgic memories of playing it but your mind forgets all the boring moments and only remembers the good. Amazing soundtrack too. There are some youtubers who talk about their time playing FFXI, like HappyConsoleGamer and Maximilliondude I'll link an example of the airship in a different post just in case youtube kills my post. Is it me or just like before the Remake came out they posted a wallpaper with all of them on the bridge basically “spoiling” in the end party and location and now they did the same with the whole squad leaving the Forgotten Capital and heading to the Icicle Inn. Seems to me like Rocket Town will be also visited in Game 3. p.s I CANNOT WAIT TO LISTEN TO HIS THEME 😭

Plus the scale is much bigger in this 3D map and I don’t expect the snow to be very close. So yeah, it’s possible but I don’t want to jump the gun. If I’m honest, I’d be more emotional if somehow Aerith survives her fate than anything else because I still think she saved us so many years ago, so we owe it to her to save her this time. That’s how I feel personally. I really want her to visit the Icicle Inn personally.

No that causes a ton of problems. Aerith just touches everyone and everyone knows a bunch of stuff now? Red and marlene have special connection to the planet and this is in the OG and advent children. Cid totally wants the space program above all else. We know this for a fact. There's no reason to change this about him, especially since the space program plays into the huge materia later on.
Seeing small glimpse of Cid in the video doesn't act like the OG FF7 Cid. Cid is a hard-ass foul mouth character. And the cheesy lines from Aerith or Tifa, that's to be expected but from Cid, that's so unlike Cid, sounding like a chauffeur -- "yes ma'am, no ma'am..is there anything I can do for ya, I wanna help". Oh, please🙄😒🥱🤦♂️ the trailer left me a bit disappointed. Hopefully, the next trailer before the launch will be much more exciting.
