I met Roddy at a signing ( the tickets were $100.00). I told him how much I appreciated him for bringing laughter to a tough life and how much my son (who was 10) was a fan of his old wrestling and movies. He asked me where my son was and I told him I couldn’t afford to bring him, he put his back to everyone, asked his name, grabbed a “They Live” picture and signed it to him and whispered “don’t tell anyone about this and tell your son I’m sorry I missed meeting him”. What a great guy. When you meet your heroes, you can be guaranteed to be disappointed but he certainly did not. Thank You Roddy, for everything.

His death really got me, as a kid watching wrestling from what I consider the golden age. The WWF's first generation..Rowdy Roddy Piper should out... I enjoyed his matches very much..and in WcW against Hogan and the nWo I dare say he helped rocket that angle to next level. . . I would have loved to have met the man and shook his hand and thank him for being a part of my childhood like someone else in the comments mentioned. I was going to be part of one of his stops in Texas that Bruce mentioned and I was excited to meet him I really wish I would have had that opportunity. Rest in Peace Hot Rod
Thanks guys
Of all of the heartbreaking things for Bruce to go through.......
Very sad. Every time I think of Piper I think of Ace cowboy Bob Orton
.."AND IM ALLLL OUT OF BUBBLEGUM" !!
They live i discovered Roddy piper through that and saw his matches and listen to him on the commentator table
He was a great man a mans man and I really loved the man and his career he was great
I loved Roddy and I was so stunned when he passed and I feel for u bruce
Never gave 2 shots about Bruce P......until I heard this .
Matthew Singh-Dosanjh you’re the one here watching
Woke up today
You're still so far away
If I could reach beyond stars
If I could heal old scars
Then for you I would reach out
That's when my soul shouts
For no matter what I do
I can not reach you
Oh you're so far away
In your memory I pray
Why did you have to take that final ride
I miss walking side by side
Oh my heart breaks
As my body shakes
You were never suppose to leave
Now I hang my head to grieve
My life with you was a blessing
I loved how you would sing
But now in heaven your voice ring
I love you more then you know
Now I must let you go

In my humble opinion, one ☝️ of the MOST entertaining wrestlers of ALL time ! A true ⭐️ star ! R.I.P. Hot Rod!
Bruce thank you for sharing about the hot rod... And I'm so sorry about pipper
I had to close my store for a week when Rod died I was heartbroken, totally was. Still am.
Roddy was a class act and classic and iconic legend of wrestling.
Roddy was a catalyst. Without Roddy, Hulk would not have been as big, because he sold more tickets to the 1st WM than T or Hogan. Ric Flair would not had been as hot without the Hot Rod in Mid-Atlantic. Even Ric readily admits as much. Roddy was an entertainer, a wrestler, a friend to many, and a wonderful family man. And Roddy, since you're departure, we miss you, thank you, & ALL OF US are ..."all out of Bubblegum"!!
Damn this got me right in the feels...r.i.p. piper
The greatest heel of all time.
Gary Hart told a similar story about when Gentlemen Chris Adams passed away. Gary said Chris had tried to contact him a few times, but Gary just wouldn’t return his calls. A few days later Chris passed away. Gary went into a deep depression afterwards.
this was beautiful Bruce
"The maniac loves ya"
Miss ya Roddy 😔
I seen him preform at Harveys here in Portland. The stories were so funny.
Oh all the deaths that came down in the recent years. Roddy's death is the one that truly hurt.
I cried when Roddy died. One of the few that I have cried about.
Roddy. The realist and best person in wrestling ever. Don’t think there will be another. RIP
Piper is a fucking legend. So much energy in the ring. I just watched the 92 Royal Rumble, and I thought Piper stole the damn show.
Sorry you lost ur friend Bruce he was a great personality
*Hulk Hogan said that Roddy also left him a voicemail at that time saying that he was “walking with Jesus”*
Loved the roddy impression
Rowdy was one of the greats,I really regret I never met him.😣he was a great guy, very funny, witty, excellent athlete,a true legend!its very sad that he’s not with us anymore.they could have made him a tag team with jake the snake Roberts.
Roddy and Dusty passed around the same time
