I really like this tabletop drum kit, but hate the bass drum pedal, so I deiced to make my own! I used an old PDP bass drum pedal to create a switch that also features in input for the hi hat controller pedal. Overall it was easy and works great. I used copper foil tape amzn.to/2EZqkc9, some cymbal felts, gaffer's tape, and some random wires and cables I had lying around to make the pedal.

Thank you for your service. Very Important to make a video on making the drum pedal, from beginning to end. For people like me, I still got lost in following your directions. Showing step by step. Materials seperatly assembeled, then step by step. I just purchased this model, and have shows coming up. Thank you.
This Pyle kit actually sounds very nice. I own a Yamaha DD65 and it is a nice option to jam with friends at home.
I really love this thing!
Great video, can you make a video on how to build the pedal?
Great improvision on that pedal. 👍
Yamaha dd series can use regular kick towers and foot controllers. Also has holes in bottom to fit most snare stands.
Geeat work, I wanted to get the same tabletop drumkit but I wasn't sure about not having the bass drum kick "feel". it's a clever solution. thanks for the vid.
You've got mad skills. Seems like a musician has to have those to get by. From what I understand, you can also use piano sustain pedals for the PylePro. That would feel kind of odd, if you're coming from traditional drum pedals, but it would definitely be an upgrade to the cheaper plastic ones.
Yeah, you can use a sustain pedal too. It might not be that bad if it's a good one.
and thank you!
Nice work! Hook it up 2 the alesis module and you've got 7 more cymbals.... grt Pascal
I've done that already, haha.
Awesome vid Bro! I would love to see you do the cover of Phil Collin's I Don't Care Anymore or In The Air Tonight on that Pyle set, I bet it would be killer!!
Very good, u'll be doing the hi hat, next!
Nice mod! I am going check out The Drum Kat video of their version of it.
WOW! Well done
thank you!
Hey justin! I just found out there was a free version of steven slate drums 5, and thought you might want to do a video on it. Also, great video!
Oh really? I’ll check it out!
Super clever!!!
Thank you! 😊
Theoretically, couldn't you daisy chain the bass pedal switch to a second bass pedal switch to make a double bass mod, along with leaving the 3.5 connection open for the hi hat? Just a thought because I'm interested in one of these little table top sets but I gotta have double bass.
use a BOSS FS-5U as a footswitch for the pedals
cool t-shirt
Great video, can you review the MIDI input?
I actually did that in this video ruclips.net/video/0wnj80IVDlc/видео.html
I have what I guess, is an older version of the Pyle PTED, as mine is a PTED01. It has 2 separate inputs. 1 for the Hi Hat and 1 for the kick. Your idea should work on mine as well, with some modifications. I don't need the input for the hi hat... But wow! The sounds seem to be a lot better on the '06 version. More realistic sounding! Did you customize them at all?
I made some adjustments, but the internal sounds really aren't bad!
Hi! Sorry to necro a pretty old video, but could you please tell me which stand are you using? My desk is a bit too high haha
it's just a snare stand
I've just ordered this kit coming Saturday can't wait.. was just wondering how much the upgrade was to do ?
Great shirt
Thank you!
Rad idea! I’m about to order one of these and was worried about the kick pedal. How fast can you go with this? I do a lot of doubles and triples (play punk rock mostly) and was just hoping your mod will give me the speed I’m looking for.
well, when it comes down to it, it's still a switch so still not like a real pedal. It's better than the one it came with, but not as good as a real one.
Thats really cool! Would connecting a bass pedal to a drum tower work also?
No it won’t. The foot inputs are switch based not piezo. You can use rockband pedals though
good then i was looking at one and did not yet on if you can add a kick i have to get one oof this my studio space is only 5x5 lol
Should be perfect then!
Smart🤘
Could this kit work as a midi controller for Garageband? I want more authentic drum grooves on my songs.
Yes it can!
hey i'm not good at making things, can you show me a kick pedal switch i can buy and connect with a 3.5 dual stereo breakout cable or something? I hope you understand XD
the switch is literally just two wires touching together. You can use a sustain pedal from an electric piano.
I been looking at this little set for the portability. I have a quick question D.S. if you could answer.
Could this bass be set up to trigger with stick hits?
I'm paraplegic so I have to set my bass up as such.
Yep! There are 10 user save slots and you program any pad to make any sound. For example, the playing example in the beginning of this vid, I remapped the tom 2 to a ride sound. So you could remap the floor tom to a kick, or put it wherever you like.
There’s a bunch of table top sets for sale right now, I think some may be sold tonight, on shop goodwill if you’re interested. I see a Yamaha model that may be pretty good.
@@UPdan I didn't see this in time. I forgot all about the Goodwill sight. Have not been there in years. Thanks.
@@demonicsweaters I was wondering if each pad did that. very nice little setup and has a wonderful sound for what it is. Be kind of cool one of those sitting around the campfire picking and grinning things.
@@demonicsweaters I'm going to order this Pyle. There are good deals for this little kit. Thanks for your great reviews.
From some more research making a sip and puff switch is very easy with as low volume vacuum switch from a car. Basically pic one up from Orally pretty cheap.
Do you think it works for a pyle pted01?
It should
I have questions reguarding recording on alesis nitro mesh without interface i saw all your videos on recording. I bought 3.5mm splitter and stereo to 3.5mm cable. The problem is while recording in audacity there is distort sound coming even i am not playing drums it shows while monitoring mic but in your video there is nothing like that the mic is quite also the drum sounds cracks in audacity whats the solution please help
Are you running from the line out on the module or the headphone output?
@@demonicsweaters i am using 2x trs 6.35 to 3.5mm wire for output which connect to splitter and then into headphone jack of laptop as shown in your recording without interface video but after i am done with all mic settings i get static sound when i monitor the mic which you didnt got in your video and the drum sounds like a cheap quality sounds get cracked
Do you have the correct audio device selected in audacity. Did you double check all the cables?
@@demonicsweaters checked all wires the were connected properly also tried all permutation combinations but the static doesnt go but in your video there is no static and also sound quality is good. Or else there is something wrong i am doing

Awesome! Do you have a link?
@@demonicsweaters We are waiting on another shipment of materials (world is a bit off ATM so things are slow on boats)
Give me a few weeks and I will get you a link, and if I could get a shameless plug later on I will send you a free kit.
I also couldn't stand the pedals with the 06 units so I made a kit that has pedals like the 01 and it is plug and play :-)
cheers
dave
Are we still waiting. Can ye nae gis us a cloo..
bro i have drumkit like yours can you help me to do like this i want to convert my foot pedals also but i dont have idea pls help me brother pls pls pls😢
Is there a specific question about the video that you have?
only copper tape and wires need in this pedal sir? or need also a card piezo or switch
i want to know how to convert my bass pedal like yours
@@rjbartolome7789 it's only a switch, all the details are in this video. Just strip one end of an aux cable and plug it into the pedal input, then touch two of the three wires together to figure out which wires switch the hi hat or bass drum pedal. I'll make a more detailed video of how to do it too.
