Hey guys at 21:40 I run through all 5 of the Pentatonic scale shapes for reference. Please feel free to leave any questions you have here and I’ll get through them as soon as I can, thank you so much for watching for 15 years it is truly appreciated :-)
Reading comments that this was previously paid material. This is the best quality pentatonic lesson that is freely available on youtube as of it's upload. I wish I had this when I first started learning them but still learned a thing or two from this video. Excellent work can't wait to see more.
I've played for quite a while, and i don't think i've actually learned anything new for a few years now. I think i'll do a deep-dive with this series and pick up some more skills. See if i can invoke the same practice-discipline as i could when i was a teenager!
Buying this course was one of the best things I did. I know some who bought it might be frustrated that its now available free on here, but I'm glad it gets to reach a wider audience. I urge everyone to follow this series because its great. Share the knowledge and share the love guys✌🤘
Hi Lewis, I really appreciate this - yes I released this about a year ago as a paid course, as you know it also came with other parts like backing tracks et cetera. I decided it was time to give it away for free since it had run its course, but also as a thank you to the many people who have supported me over the past 15 years. Thanks for your support, I really appreciate you being here :-)
I definitely agree dude, it's time to put it out there for everyone to enjoy. Just promise that you'll keep putting stuff out there man and we'll keep watching/listening. Also, can't wait for the new clockwork album and vinyl to arrive too 😁
Rob what a fantastic new series! This is exactly what I needed to expand my guitar playing. Oh by the way "Greetings" is the best name for this series.
I recall some video from long ago where a dreadded Rob shyly demonstrated a similar lesson. If you find it, listen to his growth as a guitarist between the two. I love hearing & seeing how Rob has grown as a musician, makes me feel like I am also improving with my sound. Great job my friend, cheers from Monterey, CA, USA =)
really funny, just on the last week I started trying to see and approach the scales in more of a chord or riffs type of approach, these lesson was great for what i have being working on, thanks Rob,
Hello , many thanks for the great lesson, it’s great to see what can be done with the scales you have shown us , really enjoyed your vid and many thanks to you 👍🏻🎸🎸🏴
What a great lesson Thanks Rob been learning from some of your older videos. I'm a beginner,You used to have long hair in them vids 😁 !!!!! You've been a big help though thank you 🇬🇧🤘
Hey Rob, really enjoyed this video, really admire your natural skill to teach. I look forward to more like this. Chapman guitar sounds great really love the clarity and bright sound
@@RobChappers aw of course your welcome man, you are a born natural at teaching, really. Sensitive question, what do you use to record sound? I am trying to do covers, not much help from the locals
Ha ha, I did seriously consider that for awhile but then I figured most people know me from the word greetings so it made more sense! Here’s a question for you, what should I film next like this? Maybe a guide to Gear, more in-depth tuition or something else you let me know?
There's already a book called The Guitar Grimoire. I don't know if you'd get into copyright/trademark troubles, or whether guitar->guitarist is far enough removed.
Nooooooooooo nooooooooooo dear Rob since when did you start the side-views????? I was about to make a video of why you’re my fav RUclipsr, and one massive reason is you don’t do that annoying side-view shit!!!!! No need!! Your vids are so great because we feel like you’re talking directly to us, like hanging out with a mate! Leave that crap for the likes of Paul Davids!! Please 😞😞
Your 4 2-note "chord" progression: The second one is major (contains C#) That's Major scale. But you're teaching pentatonic minor 1st position scale...no C#. Right?
Blues is all about the ambiguity between major and minor, you’ll find routinely blues or even rock musicians will take a minor third and nudge it towards a major third. It’s more than just a passing note it is a stylistic quotation that is integral to blues rock. Hope that helped :-)
Similar, no I wrote this about 12 years ago, don’t really listen to much deep purple and there is one big difference - their riff is much better than mine LOL! :-)

Brilliant. I would love to see graphics showing what notes to play while you're talking about techniques.

This is amazing rob thanks so much!😎
All about 2:56... 🤘😎🤘
Love you bro, hopefully see you soon... at least as soon as I’m allowed to with a 10 day quarantine :-)
Yes! Cheers mate.
Love that intro. Absolutely brilliant video. You're ability to teach, inspire and entertain near cease to amaze. Thanks Rob
Thanks Dan I really appreciate that, thanks for watching over the years man

Hi Rob...hope all is good w u man...thanks for this...
Great lesson...
great lesson
Thanks John, stay tuned for another eight chapters :-)
Thanks Rob. I have my scales down (for an intermediate player) but always struggle to get any lead stuff in or how to use them
Great lesson concept, maybe cutaways to fretboard diagrams would be an idea?
This may be fairly close to the first demo pattern www.guitarscientist.com/generator/VZIoDvTba1zxYsZ
Hello , many thanks for the great lesson, it’s great to see what can be done with the scales you have shown us , really enjoyed your vid and many thanks to you 👍🏻🎸🎸🏴

Hi Rob, happy 15 years old of RUclips. Please remember sell me some guitars.
What a great lesson Thanks Rob been learning from some of your older videos. I'm a beginner,You used to have long hair in them vids 😁 !!!!! You've been a big help though thank you 🇬🇧🤘
Hey Mr. Chapman. 👋
Great video.
Thanks for watching Jeremy :-)
I bought this at the time and I loved it!
But I still think you should have called it the Shredranomicon!
Ha ha oh yeah!! I forgot about that name lol. Thanks for supporting me Dave, have a great day :-)
@@RobChappers you too dude!
However Rob, You don’t say greetings…. You say ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreetings! I believe it is 37 r’s haha
Ha ha I like to give value :-)
Hey Rob, really enjoyed this video, really admire your natural skill to teach. I look forward to more like this. Chapman guitar sounds great really love the clarity and bright sound
Thanks dude, another eight chapters to come yet covering absolutely everything, thank you for watching :-)
@@RobChappers aw of course your welcome man, you are a born natural at teaching, really. Sensitive question, what do you use to record sound? I am trying to do covers, not much help from the locals
We have the same little flip-down hanger thingies. What are the odds?
You have 747k subs at the mo.
Now I have Saxon "Strangers in the Night" stuck in my head lol
Fantastic video, so very helpful!
Could someone who’s more theoretically proficient than me write down the names of the chords used?
Very helpful stuff! Although, for the record (no pun intended), I would be onboard with changing the name to "The Guitarist's Grimoire." 😉
Ha ha, I did seriously consider that for awhile but then I figured most people know me from the word greetings so it made more sense!

Ha ha it’s just for a clearer view of the fret board! Relax, I’m the same guy!!! Thanks for watching man
@@RobChappers Haha fair enough
Is this Rob's kamasutra for the pentatonic scale?
There must be 20 lessons preceding these?
This is Chapter 1, another 8 to go
This could be a level in Hitman.

The second one is major (contains C#)

Lovely setting Rob. I expected to see Judith Chalmers!
Showing my age😞
Ha ha me too Mr Micky, I’ll be 46 on the 14th lol
I'll be 62 on the 13th!
Happy B'day to you for then.
Isn't this ruclips.net/video/ix4gbWEYmeI/видео.html from some Deep Purple song?
Found it. Deep Purple - Might just take your life.
Similar, no I wrote this about 12 years ago, don’t really listen to much deep purple and there is one big difference - their riff is much better than mine LOL! :-)
Riff alla Paul kossoff
its Deep purple Might just take your life
pentatonic lesson,,, second double stop,,, straight outside the pentatonic..... :/
Thank you Rob
