- Under a scattered and broken “Brady list” system, Arizona law enforcement officials have routinely failed to adequately track dishonest and disreputable police officers, disclose their misconduct in criminal cases, and hold them accountable, according to a year-long ABC15 investigation. @@shivasirons6159 I think the point that she was making, that you clearly missed, is that this happens to black people disproportionately in America. Statitics show that black folks are 5 times as likely to get arrested and charged for the same exact crime that their white counter parts commit.
Either way, this happens to all races in america, but it definitely is getting worse. Folks turned a blind eye when it happened to people of color for so long... now it's started to hurt white people and all of a sudden "we need to stick together". Keep that same energy.

That's not how it works. He was perfectly calm and wasn't trying to cause any trouble. The cop and the clerk deserve criminal charges.
The people who hired these individuals should be immediately criminally prosecuted for willingly hiring them. The person that hired them was responsible to know about their entire past where they chose to find out or not is irrelevant they hired people to inflict harm on others because they knew or should have known that they would do this based on a proper background check which they were hired to do by the municipality. Again the people that hired these police officers should be criminally prosecuted. These officers should be criminally prosecuted and jailed.
I think the problem is the people that hire these 'professionals' don't set a very high bar it's very accessable if you have minimal education and no felonies. Even in PHX AZ they advertise becoming a police offer on the bumpers of the cruisers. Almost anybody can do this job if they really wanted to, which is why you get such incompetent people representing what should be community heroes. Police suck and cause more problems than they solve.
This is the same thing that happened in the priesthood and is still happening in the priesthood when they molest boys they get transferred and nobody says anything

The Brady list should be made and run by FEDERAL authorities like the FBI, not local law enforcement who can sweep it under the rug.

I was thinking of buying a home in Superior. It is pretty there. When a friend found out, she told me about Superior police. They even harrassed her grandparents. She said to not move there. I didn't.

This is why we are where we are. I got pulled over in Phoenix in about 2004 and the officer was going to stab me with a screw driver he took out of my vehicle. Fortunately a friend walked up at the time.

Please stop believing there are good police. They take a job knowing the responsibilities and duties. What is a patrol man's job? To patrol for mostly victimless traffic offenses and steal money from people. To me taking money from people for something that resulted in the injury of no one is the only criminal thing going on in a traffic stop. You have to be a bad person to be ok with yourself after hurting and harming so many people after a days "work". Taking money out of people's pockets is not what I consider work, I consider it theft. And if you take a job knowing that this is your main job requirement, to pull people over and to find a reason to take money from them, then you are not a "good" person or cop. You're a bad person, and you're a cop who is "just doing my job".

I love how the cops will bend people's arms in a non-natural direction, while at the same time causing their face to drop towards the ground and then when the person came help but to instinctively try to correct their arm rotation and break their fall the cops pile on and say "Stop resisting! Suing the department only hurts the citizens. It has no effect on the police themselves. We need to eliminate qualified immunity so we can sue the officers directly and hold them financially responsible for their misdeeds.
suing does nothing especially if you are dead. They intimidate families and those fighting the fight. We see what they are willing to do to defenseless people, imagine what they will do to grieving and scared people.
This is why there is a defund the police movement. There should be a defund the Courts movement. Where are the judges after they see the videos?

I was stationed in AZ about 15 years ago and I thought Maricopa county LE acted like the gestapo…..to think that another town in AZ is intentionally hiring the worst, of the worst bad apples is just mind blowing! It’s time to cut off all federal funding for LE in this state….if the people of AZ want to live in a police state, make them pay for it all.
Those of us who support Law Enforcement also need to speak up for victims of the Police when it happens in our own City. In early 2020, father of two answers a knock at the door late at night with his gun in case it is a threat to him and his family and is immediately executed by officer Jeff Cooke (Badge #10282). He NEVER pointed the gun at officers, and as soon as he realized they were police fell to his knees and positioned the gun AWAY from officers so there was never a threat to them. Yet Jeff Cooke shot him in the back as he was surrendering to them because he "feared for the life of his partner" because the man had a gun in his hand not pointed toward anyone but AWAY from them. This COWARD needs to be fired from the police force and charged with the Murder of Ryan Whitaker. It took police two months to release the video of the incident and even then it is not the complete unedited video. It's time to end the cover up and charge this bad officer! When an officer in level 3A body armor (which is rated to stop all handgun calibers) confronts a suspect with a gun, the presumption should be the officer CANNOT BE IN FEAR FOR HIS LIFE (or another officers life) unless the suspect actually points the gun at officers or a bystander. The rules of engagement have to change, don't fire unless fired upon!

Kevin Morris It sucks man. I've lived in LA all 34 years of my life and both times i've had a gun pointed at me was by the LAPD. It didn't matter that I've never had a criminal record or anything worse than a speeding ticket, when a cop decides that you're a threat and he wants to kill you, there's nothing to stop him from doing so. There's a saying here in LA that the two biggest gangs here are not the bloods or the crips but the LAPD and the LA county sheriff's.
So, I was speaking with an outstanding officer yesterday for some time and he explained to me how strict his lieutenant is about their use of time and how not only do their cruisers have a GPS installed in them, but also their radios that they wear as well, so that they can be tracked at all times so that they are held accountable for their logs on use of on-duty time. I'm not going to say what township this officer works for, but that makes me feel better about how our officers that protect us are being "policed" so to say. My father was the youngest person ever appointed captain of the Washington D.C. Police when he was 24 and was a beat cop before that (in the 70s) and he used to tell me horror stories of his time as an officer. It's truly sad that we have to put up with officers like these men and how they can blatantly abuse their power and still retain their jobs because they're believed over the common citizens that they were sworn to serve and protect. I wanted to be a cop at one point in my teens, but I knew that I have a bad temper and I couldn't handle a position of authority and still be able to keep a clear mind in the face of opposition, so I allowed my dream to dwindle and expire because I knew that I couldn't uphold my oath without having any potential issues. To be honest, I don't know how my dad did it because we are exactly alike, but policing back in his days wasn't anywhere near as strict as it is today. I ALWAYS show respect to officers, but I've met a few bad cops as well.
Can you imagine being mexican or black in that little town, I got thrown to the ground on a hot July day held on the concrete on 59th ave bethany, I literally came out of McDonalds and got thrown to the ground and they said they didn't know what was inside my bag. I just bought mcdonalds, coming out of the McDonald's and they were scared of my McDonalds bag In my hand so they threw me down and arrested me all because I told them i didn't do nothing when they asked for my ID. Police are bullies and we can't do nothing but get bullied by them

That’s how MCSO and city police departments roll in Maricopa county. This is, and has been, the norm rather than the exception here for decades. Especially last 5 years it’s been getting worse. There are a few good apples in a barrel of rotten ones here that try to do the right thing but are drowning in the corruption that surrounds them.
So sad to have this happen. We need to be able to trust Law Enforcement.
