  • One of the most nomadic cops in Arizona has finally lost his license to be a police officer in the state.
The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board unanimously voted to revoke the certification of Joel Christian Ensley at its August meeting. The vote came after an administrative law judge denied Ensley’s challenge to the board’s case against him.

You can thank the police unions for having such strong contracts that it's almost impossible to actually fire a police officer. There's a story of a police officer, caught on body camera, kneeing a handcuffed suspect in the head that was sitting still. He was arrested on four separate counts, two of which are felonies, and he's on paid administrative leave until the conclusion of his criminal case, including all appeals. That means he'll be sitting in jail, collecting his paycheck, for years until his appeals are over. That's how screwed up the police unions have made the situation.

I know that there is no way to gather the information, but I think the taxpayers would lose their sh*t if we could see how much taxpayer money bad cops cost the taxpayers nation wide. We hear of the settlements in the millions, but for every one of those, how many are in the hundreds of thousand dollars. Google says there are 660,288 full time law enforcement officers in the states. A one thousand dollar lawsuit settlement for each of the 660,288 officers, and as we know some have more than one, and few would be for less than a thousand dollars, would be $660,288,000.00. To the Officers, a mere pittance, because it is taxpayer dollars, nothing comes out of the officers wallet. What could the figure reach by the time a bad officer retire? On top of this, how much taxpayer money is spent to fund the entire department, or all the departments in the country?
