  • UPDATE: Since the video was originally uploaded, a few changes have taken place:
    - Machine Moto Art valve cover protectors were added
    - LED headlight and turn-signal 'bulbs' were added
    - the mechanical 'friction-based cruise control' was removed and replaced with a retro-fitted OEM cruise control
    - The front fender was replaced by a carbon-fiber unit
    - tires are now Dunlop Q5S's
Take a 2020 BMW R1250R, add an Akrapovič muffler, a factory Sport windshield, a mechanical ‘cruise-control’ (throttle-lock), and a centre-stand (yes: a centre-stand!). Then, take the fairing off a 1982 BMW R65LS, modify it to fit and fabricate mounting hardware. Add pin-striping based on the BMW M-Sport colors on the gas tank and fairing to tie it all together. The result: The Beast.

What I love most about it is how it goes like hell with more torque than my old Vmax. The background music for your video is pretty good also and you didn't have to pay anyone to use it.

Thanks, Manny - nice of you to say so! You know, I was checking out 'Top 10 (and 20) Naked Bikes' on RUclips today, and they rant and rave about all kinds of others, and seem all impressed with bikes like the Triumph Street Triple (121 HP; 58 ft/lbs), the MT10 (160 HP; 81.7 ft/lbs), the Indian FTR 1200 (123 HP; 87 ft/lbs), the S1000R (165 HP; 84 ft/lbs) and the Z H2 (200 HP; 101 ft/lbs). Never once is the R1250R (136 HP; 106 ft/lbs) mentioned, even though it makes more torque than any of those others (and more horsepower than some of 'em, too...). I guess having a shaft disqualifies it, somehow. I figure it's not too shabby for a boxer twin! ;-)

Well, beards are cool, so that's cool...! :-) I don't wear a beard, but I did add the nosecone in November (2019), so I guess that's appropriate!
