Chris I’ve been watching you for around ten years now and I love seeing you post about your life I enjoy seeing how much we’ve both grown in the last ten years
I feel like adding monkey knowledge for mortars would eliminate 90% of the complaints we see about these guys. They're so helpful, but the fact you have to individually micro each mortar for maximum effectiveness is annoying. Especially when you have other towers to micro like dartling gunners. Adding any of follow mouse, set points (for every other shot, good for double entrance/exit maps), or follow reinforced/camo (for bottom path only) would be game changing for them. Additionally, the ability to change the target location of all mortars at the same time (like the button for dartlings), instead of individually would be a good quality of life buff in general. Put it deep enough in the knowledge tree that you need a healthy chunk of pre-requisites or monkey money before you can unlock it, and I feel it's a good step forward toward making the community hate on something else for once.
I think increased accuracy should allow some of these without knowledge, so you can use them in chimps. alternatively they could add a patrol point like feature combined with the ambush feature of techbota to make mortars be able to auto aim if bloons entered a certain area.

I think this might've been easier if you crosspathed your top path mortar to 502 instead of 520. I did sandbox testing and that burny stuff does far more damage to ZOMGs than the added attack speed.
mortar is one of my favourite towers personally, though i wish they were stronger in earlier upgrades or had some stuff to make them easier to use that being said i had a really fun moon landing game using mostly mortar on i think abr where i had to do absolutely insane micro with artillery battery to pop all the super ceramics

I learned Mortar micro. But it's easier if they have faster attack speed, via path 2, Striker Jones, Jungle Drums, PermaBrew, and overclock/ultraboost. I'm just saying!
I find it like kinda deep that Chris goes into a really existencial rant about what the internet is doing to our brains and about identity as we are looking at a silly game about monkeys and balloons... personally I feel like you should be able to start with a dart monkey along with any hero so that you could have the best potential out of your towers, though that would be somewhat less close to x monkey only
Mortar would go into top 5 towers of it simply had targeting like the helicopter, or dartling monkey or at least if you could target more spots, for example marking 4 spots on the map and only shooting once the bloons hit the mark.
hey sjb idk if youll see this. but i wanted to say the biggest one mortar is really really really strong with burny stuff. 5-0-2. because if i remember correctly biggest one with burny stuff damage is huge over time. like 25 damage ticks. i hope you give it a try if you do see it. love the channel btw!
I actually tried to black medal mortar only on monkey lane yesterday and I got to round 89 before I died and ran out of time to keep gaming. The fact that this was the next chimps tower only is really funny to me
I feel like the alchemy and other bad damaging towers is literally just Quincy attempting to solo for at least 30 rounds until the other towers get good

To be entirely honest, I was a full on mortar hater for a while like everybody else. I realized his value though when it comes to more difficult maps, (I’m not that good so my map I got stuck on was waterpark) and he helped me clear it. Think he deserves a bit more credit ❤
