I adore this video. This is one of the songs I used to play during my teenage years of insomnia and medication. Dad left and Mum was an alcoholic when I was 16. It means a great deal, somebody singing something that you can't voice yourself is like a release.

If I'm making a Radiohead checklist for people to react to, I'd generally say go in a loosely chronological order (the most important ones with an asterisk):
    - Creep*
    - Blow Out
    - Fake Plastic Trees
    - Just*
    - Street Spirit (Fade Out)*
    - Paranoid Android *
    - Exit Music (For A Film)*
    - Airbag
    - The Tourist
    - The National Anthem
    - How To Disappear Completely*
    - Idioteque*
    - Motion Picture Soundtrack
    - Pyramid Song*
    - Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box
    - 2+2=5
    - There There*
    - Myxomatosis
    - Weird Fishes/Arpeggi*
    - Bodysnatchers
    - Nude*
    - Reckoner
    - Lotus Flower ("From The Basement" version)*
    - Bloom (Thom solo piano version)
    - Separator*
    - Daydreaming*
    - Ful Stop
    - Burn The Witch*

One of my favorite songs lyrically. I think a lot of people miss the message behind it.
It’s about how difficult it is to make genuine human connections in our relationships, since everyone is trying to put on an artificial facade. People rarely convey their true selves to others in the modern world due to the pressure of upholding societal standards. As a result, they’re “fake.”
“If I could be who you wanted...” is indicative of what often happens once you show someone your true self.
Keep in mind, this song was released in the early days of the internet, long before social media. It’s only become more relevant with time.

@@ThePopbanks007 Those two are very talented and insanely skilled with crazy ranges...but I think OP is referring to the sound of Thom's voice. Freddie had a great sound too. Sound can trump ability often. For instance, Lennon didn't really have a big range, but his voice is mesmerizing. Lennon is top 5/top 10 in anyone's conversation about best singers.

After watching this video, I can actually understand his song "Creep" as to the struggles he went through growing up. I know that he was born with a paralyzed left eye. I know that by the time he was 6 years old he had gone through 6 surgeries. And I know they stopped the surgeries because of the botch job that left his left side of his face droopy. In the Creep video, it was dark and they hid the problem in that darkness. This is a very bright video and it shows more the problems he had growing up, the problem that made him feel like an outsider, one with low self esteem and why he was so shy. I am glad he overcame all those obstacles to become a great singer/song writer.

I got the sense that its a boy singing about his parents who dont really love each other but are putting a front on which wears them out. As such the boy wishes he could be who they wanted all the time as he feels he is too putting up a front which wears him out. Hence the child symbolism in the video of being pushed in a shopping cart and that shot at the end.

Thom Yorke is one of the most emotional songwriters/performers. He literally wears his emotions on his sleeves. This is about the fake reality he sees in every facet-the fake woman he loves, the fake people(including the doctor who did plastic surgeries on women in the 80s, the fake world and the need to pretend to be OK with it. You guys are great! Love to see your reactions to the songs. I am a huge fan. I was impressed when you did Dr Dre video. He is awesome as a technical developer.
