- In this video I share how large aquariums for Oscar cichlids is preferred and often necessary. You can sometimes have aggression and fighting, and they also need the space to move and swim around.

The video quality is amazing! Thanks for the vids.
I feel like oscars can be the funnest pet fish when put in the right situation
Great video Beautiful looking oscars. Loving the fish room can’t wait to see more of it.
Such a beautiful video of a really nice fish... The Oscar. It always felt to me like such a regal fish. I've never had the pleasure of owning one. It's one of those things I always have to know about them because you just never know .. the opportunity might come along.. thank you for always sharing your experiences!
Maybe rehome the third one? It can’t be a great existence to be picked on all the time. Your pair would be happier too.
Waters Rising A breeding pair would seem best
Wow, just around a year ago ivory was just a fish fry, now she has grown up and is getting married.
They are beautiful!
Good fish footage!
Your Oscars are beautiful! I had the same "issue" and had to move the unpaired oscar to another tank in the end. 😓
Great looking Oscars! I have two small ones in my 125, my red Oscar has gone from 2” to 4” in a month! I love Oscars.
Me too lol. I bought my first oscar a month ago, a red oscar, and was blown away by how fast it is growing. It's literally growing a half inch per week lol. I have him in a 55 because I figured it would be fine for a bit until I find a cheap used 75 somewhere but I may have to get a new tank if he keeps growing so fast
I have two 8-9 inch Oscar’s in my 125 but I’m upgrading them to a pond in my garage 1500 gallons and My Silver Arrowana and my 2 Irridscent Shark. But I love all your tanks!
This happened to me as well a few weeks ago! I have 3 oscars in a 125 and a 2 of them decided to pair off. 😁
Quintuple is in fact a word to describe increasing fivefold. You are all good there man.
I have a 125 with two Oscars of the same sex and a pair of severums. At the temp of 78, I had lots of aggression so I lowered the temp to 76 and this helped. Adding the severums also seems to have helped.
My two Oscars have been together since they were tiny babies. They are now 2 year olds and they still swim together. Their forever home is a 120 gallon which they share with two senagel bichirs, one geophagus, and one common pleco. This mix of fish has worked out very well... finally. I went through three different fish combos before I found one that my two Oscars don't have issues with. Oscars can be picky about what friends they will tolerate in their home.
Awesome Oscars. I have one myself with a pleco in a 55 gallon and they tolerate each other just fine💯🙌👍
Ebony and ivory...I see what you did there lol ivory paired with the wrong Oscar! 😂
Lol!!!
I have mine in a 55 along with 2 rock bass and they all fine as can be
I have a couple Oscar's in a 125 with a pair of Angel's. It's a fun tank and if you can believe it, the Angel's actually boss the Oscar's around
Oscars are beautiful fish 🐠 Definitely my fav.
If they've been fighting, they are holding up well. I don't see much damage on the sides or lips. Ebony might need to go into his own tank (or maybe remove the female?). All three are very pretty and I'd be reluctant to get rid of any of them. Life of a cichlid keeper.
Love Oscar's! Hope to keep them in the future.
They're gorgeous. They may even have septupled in size. Lol
Oscars are awesome, I currently don't have one now but I've had em a long time you can use a sight breaker but you risk injury when they do combat I would re_ home the outcast if that's an option n by the way they look amazing
Aquário top ✌️
I always tell u this when I do comment but you’ve got the best fish room on RUclips 💪🏼 Now as far as the Oscars.. My son got me a juvenile Oscar for Father’s Day. I currently have him in a 40 gallon breeder. I know I will have to upgrade him to a 75 in a couple of months. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are always informative 👍
🙏🏾 Thank you! I try!
Tazawa Tanks ruclips.net/video/xCjEah0fVm8/видео.html check out my Oscar
In oscar male or female which clean the or move the gravel?
I wonder if a dense fine bubble wall across a third of the tank would be enough of a sight break in a case like this. It should be cheap DIY trial before moving to more extreme measures like permanent separation of a fish. Just an idea.
Hmmm...that’s a pretty good idea! Cheap too, since I have a central air system. I’d just need to buy the long stone. I may try that!
I have a 55 Gal with 2 females and one male, and Im wondering about what should I do with just one of them, Female I just had over a year ago,Tiger ,and the two I have gotten about 2 months ago are albinos just a little smaller.do I need a bigger tank soon?, I had the tank over a year now pls help thanks,
Beautiful Fish!
Well, I'm mostly unhappy with American Fishkeeping cause of the Recommendations which are told.
But happy to see you are an exception.
Fishes looks well, your Recommendations of the Sizes of necessary Tanks are well choosed.
Thumbs up!! 👍👍👍
Only one little criticism ; 3 aren't good, they have build a Pair, soonly they will begin to breed and getting way more aggressive than they are now.
Two (1,1) is perfect for this fish.
My English is terrible at some point but I hope it's understandable
😁
Greetings from Germany
I just got a baby oscar and it is in with a pleco. Each time I drop a algae tablet for the pleco my oscar tries to eat it. Any tips for feeding a pleco and avoiding the oscar from eating it?
I had an oscar 2 pool comets & a siamese fighter in a 30 gal for 2 yrs back in around 1992 they did fine & never ate the siamese
i keep my oscars in a pond and idk if there breeding or fighting
Great vid as always, quick question: I have fed my Monster Oscar pellets most of his life, and as a treat I give him blood worms and krill shrimp, now he won’t eat pellets whatsoever now, do I do that whole starve him for 2-3 days and he’ll go back to the pellets then? That seems so inhumane, your thoughts on what to do?
Sometimes when I’m traveling or on vacation, my fish won’t eat for a week. Stop feeding for 3-4 days and then give him pellets.
Hii.thats looks cool.
I have one silly question for you.
What is best home made food for cichlid fishes.
Thanks.
Hmmm...depends on the type of cichlids. For large predatory fish like these, insects and pieces of fresh fish and crustaceans. For other fish like mbuna cichlids, fresh vegetables and algae mixed in some gelatin and some fish protein.
@@TazawaTanks thank you for detail tazawa tanks.
I have two in a 180, they act like the want to spawn. I guess we'll see what happens.
Oscar is lovely fish
I got a 120 rectangler size tank how many oscars do you think I should keep
I would keep one in a 120, as it's 4'x2'x2'.
I had an oscar for a good 8 to 9 months, but I'm gonna wait till I can get a bigger tank, I thought I would be able to get one when i had mine in a 55 but like everyone things happen and i couldn't financially do it. I love Oscar's but I'll stick with smaller south and central American cichlids like accaras, convicts, and rainbow cichlids.
this vid makes me miss my big albino oscar :(
They have to be pairing up. 3 is a bad number. But they look super healthy
when i had my oscars as soon as the temp went over 25 degrees Celsius especially around 26 degrees it was world war 3, keeping them at 24 degrees all was good
Did the pair consist of the new ones or did it consist of a new one and the oscar you already had?
1 new, and the existing.
I noticed your hogwart is floating but my is not. Do you know why?
Hi, I have a tiger Oscar fish in a 100-gallon tank, he is 25 cm. I recently added 35 cm albino oscar. the tiger is not accepting the new companion and he is nipping him, he also made some scratches on his body. I removed the tiger to another tank for 24 hrs and when I added him back, he just went and hit the albino. i have put the oscar in 20 l gallon inside the tank as isolation and he fought him from behind the gallon. I have also changed the decor and nothing happened. Please help I like both fish
Most likely they will not get along, especially because they are both full grown. Most likely you will have to have them in separate aquariums, or find a new home for one of them.
How often do you have to clean the waste out of your Oscar tank?
I do water changes about every 4 days. I vacuum the substrate every once in awhile, but not that often. The Malaysian trumpet snails do a lot of the larger cleanup.
Is 50 gallons to small for 1 Oscar my dad recently gave me his Oscar about 7 years old in a 50 gallon tank
5 :40 fighting as he speak
Lol! Yeah...stay tuned for a future video update.
I have one oscar in a 50 gallon bare bottom tank .. he's 13inches+ 3 years old when he reaches 15 inches he will be moved to a 90 Gallon where he will live out his life
Love from India ❤️
I think the only thing that will stop the aggressive behavior would be removing the poor guy fighting for space in his own tank ...maybe in a 75g by himself as a quick fix? Or use light diffuser as a temporary fix to divide the tank as a time out for a week or two to see if it helps calm the lip locking? Anything you try at this point is better than nothing but in the end giving the one being bullied his own space might be the only fix ....good luck! My Oscars are in tanks side by side....they tank fight when I turn the lights on to feed them ....there's no doubt in my mind if I ever tried to co hab them they would fight to the death no matter how much swimming space they had....
To breed them you need to get rid of the other fish and you need to put a lot more gravel in there, you need to add 60 pounds of gravel in there
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can definitely keep 2 Oscar's in a 75 gallon no problem
Don't be surprised if they throw those rocks against the glass. Been there.
why not try and make a hornwort wall?
I was thinking plant too. Would probably need to plant it in some container the oscars can't move. They like to rearrange things and plants are often collateral damage!
That’s not going to hold back an oscar. They’ll destroy it.
Oscars will destroy any live plant. They even pull apart plastic plants
first 👍🏻 amazing video🔥
👍👍👍🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹...
#blackwatertank but definitely line of sight break maybe fake jungle vale in the middle of the tank 🤔
Bro... do you bench that 125 or what?
LOL! You should watch the video that shows the gym that is connected to my fishroom.

Oscar fish are grouchy fish. Must be paired with a conscientious fish. The conscientious fish will help the grouchy fish deal with their feelings of anger by getting to the root of the problem.
Actually Ohio Fish Rescue has a 16 inch Oscar
I guess they Are Not Living In Perfect Harmony!!!! sorry had to say it. LOL Good luck
LOL!!!!
It's best to pull out the pair. Breaking the line of sight never worked for me. A pair should have their own tank. Let them do their thing in the comfort of their own tank. If they breed, they breed. Let nature take its course. At least if they successfully breed and raise a spawn you can exchange the fry with products at your LFS. A pair can thrive in a 75 or a 90. Just make sure you have a strong enough filtration system.
Yes, I think that would be ideal if my goal were to try and let them spawn and have fry. As far as selling fish at the LFS, I don’t trade for product. The LFS’ in my area pay me money if I bring them fish to buy.
Remove the pleco
Yes, I think you’re right if I wanted to keep the eggs.
Two males - one female
Horrible looking fish.
