- Many riders were apprehended by SAICT-DOTr for misuse of the exclusive EDSA bus lane.
Aside from the heavy financial penalty, repeat violators risk having their license suspended or revoked.
The EDSA Busway has proven to be an extremely effective way of moving commuters.
The Busway proved that it's possible to move hundreds of thousands of people, while only consuming a single lane of the highway.

Once again, no money ticket will scare people to ride (car or MC) in the Buss Lane. Impound their vehicle on the spot, ticket and confiscate driver's license, that's the most effective way to keep people off the Buss Lane.
I definitely agree with you. When they're walking away from the scene with their helmet in hand, it'll occur to them something didn't quite turn out the way they thought it would. You can warn those who will listen, but sadly stupidity will give it's own reward!

If mahuhuli sila with expired license, dun na yung time na kukunin at iimpound yung motor.
SAICT-DOTr confiscates licenses and issues TOP, so these violators will have to pay the fines before they can get their licenses back.

It's funny that they can see an enforcer standing at quite a distance but cannot see any of the signs or road markings that say BUSES ONLY.
Perhaps if a person has their licence confiscated they should have to retake the test at their own cost. Including the medical for eyesight.
di nila alam may spotter yong enforcers, malayo pas pinaghihintayan nila ay alam na nila yong mga lumabag na vehicles.
It's not that they don't see the road markings, its that they choose to still enter the busway even though knowing that other vehicles aren't allowed to enter. Maybe they thought that they can bribe their way out of a ticket or just elude enforcers.

aside from the penalty, since their most common reason is that they are in a hurry, why not include a 3 hour community service at the time of apprehension?

CCTV cameras along the roads help apprehend violators, maintain drivers discipline and road safety, 24/7. Works wonders in the civilised parts of the world. PH got a lot of catching up with the modern times.

Question: GA, Can you give the license plates of the motorcycles from your footage to the MMDA ? So that even the MC that were not pulled over but did a violation can be ticketed and be forced to pay after renewing their registration or license ?
Enforcement agencies do occasionally source additional footage from cctv, media, and other other people that may have a video that shows what happened.
Although typically that would all be compiled and put towards a show-cause order. It typically wouldn't be the sole basis for issuing a penalty ticket.
what happen to the total truck ban in edsa? 8pm onwards a lot of overloaded dump trucks traversing edsa and no one apprehends them. before, men of bong nebrija apprehends them but now no one flag them down... edsa is very close to so called bulacan roads, lots of pot holes and warped roads

change the penalty to towing after apprehension with 50,000 pesos penalty and 1 yr suspension of license for 1st offense. 2nd offense would be towing + 80% FMV of the vehicle with 3 yrs suspension with a possibility of cancellation of license and 3rd penalty is 200% FMV penalty, 5 yrs in prison and revocation of license on the spot.

People seem to not understand the term MOSTLY MOTORCYCLES. It means that MAJORITY of the violators are motorcycles. Cars and other 4 wheeled vehicles also misuse the bus lane and they are also being apprehended. it doesn't mean that they're only picking the motorcycles to apprehend. Sometimes the comprehension of people in this country baffle me

EDSA Carousel is like LRT or MRT why? It goes straight to your nearest destination without traffic, and more and more passengers are happy to ride the bus carousel nowadays not unlike before the public passengers need to wake up as early as 3:AM just not to be late for school, workplace, appointments, and jobsites.
I think 5k as penalty is not enough. Still revocation of licence could be the more effective penalty, why? for 1 they will decrease in numbers, the violators, second it could decongest edsa, fewer drivers means fewer vehicles. monetary penalty is not enough, revocation of licence.

Sa DISIPLINA talaga mahihina ang "ibang" mga pilipino. Disiplinado lang pag may nakabantay, pero pag walang bantay, balik lang sa dating kinagawian, yung iba pinagmamalaki pa na ilang taon na daw silang bumabyahe, hindi pa daw sila nahuhuli kahit lumalabag na sila sa batas. Yung iba naman kunsintidor pa, imbis na sawayin ang kapwa motorista/driver, kakampihan pa sila na akala mo tama yung pinaglalaban. Tapos kapag nahuli, lakas pa ng loob para laitin mga enforcer at sasabihing "patay gutom kasi mga enforcer", "buwaya talaga mga enforcer", "kotong lang mga enforcer, imbis na magmando ng trapik, puro huli inuuna" at madami pang palusot at panglalait. Tandaan, hindi porket walang bantay, pwede nang gumawa ng kagaguhan. Sumunod lang tayo sa batas may nakakakita man or wala.

Simple solution: pag nakasagasa ang bus ng motor sa buslane, automatic dapat kasalanan ng motor. Kahit mamatay pa ung rider, walang kaso ung bus, tuloy lang sia sa biahe at yung motor papalahin na lang ang mga parte ng katawan nia papunta sa center island. Ewan ko lang kung di magtino mga yan.

Parang ang daming Move It riders na violators. Almost daily na dumadaan ako sa Edsa may isa or more Move It ako nakikita na dumadaan sa Bus lane. What cause them to do this? Some says may hinahabol silang incentives or what... I think Move It should review and remove this bonuses/incentives that causes their riders to violate traffic rules. Or madali lang talaga makapasok sa kanila at walang proper training?
