- The EDSA busway solved many problems on EDSA and has generally been well received by commuters.
But for the busway to be truly effective, it needs to be exclusive. That's why you'll see SAICT-DOTr apprehending unauthorized vehicles inside the EDSA bus lane.
Repeat violators can face increased penalties, or even suspension and eventual revocation of drivers license.

Ive been saying this for so long, blinkers, sirens, unathorized stickers, unauthorized removal of plates or plate tampering should be criminalized. Make the fines HEFTY.
There will be no normalization until LTO is still unable to process all the plates.

If I were the enforcer who had a photo of my ID taken, presumably to get me in trouble for doing my job, I'd take a photo of the people who did it and say, "If I get in trouble for doing my job, social media and the news will learn all about it, including who you are, and who you sent the photo to. So decide if it's worth it to you. Good day."
The best way to deter people is to know it's not worth the trouble.

GA...this is just my own opinion regarding your short brief on the last segment of the video. Sad to say there are still people with authority that are feeling entitled on wrong

Mmda should request to the supreme court to allow the bus lane camera to capture violators. To eleminate the threat and etc.

That guy who took the enforcer’s ID should be further investigated. And the MMDA should ensure that they have their enforcer’s back as long as apprehensions are above board.
The enforcer had his ID copied (a picture taken of). His ID was NOT TAKEN. If the enforcer did nothing wrong there should be no problem. 🤔

If the vehicle is private but has blinkers and police markings, why not impound.
These fake ambulances, vehicles with fake markers and blinkers should be charged with impersonating officials. It is too lenient in the PH, that is why this is being abused by crooked people..
In the old days, ambulance drivers use their ambulance in full siren mode to get their children to school on time.
Those blokes who took a photo of the enforcer's ID must be tagged should anything happen to the enforcer.

Despite left and right news about bus lane apprehension, we still have people who willfully neglect the law. Pero for sure kapag nasa ibang bansa yan, napakabilis sumunod. Tapos magrereklamo at di tayo umuunlad e sila mismo walang progreso sa pag uugali. Certified anay ng lipunan talaga.

GA your closing story about the appended driver who took the ID pictures of the enforcers made my blood boil. Seriously? What were they thinking? Are they above the law and when apprehended they can just easily throw threats to the person with authority and get away with it. I hope the enforcer should file a police blotter. F***** stupidity. I hope that the law will have strict rules and enforcement on these kind of events.

what happened with the policy before with regards to unauthorized usage of blinkers & wang-wangs will be confiscated on the spot? I removed mine before because of that policy. As i remember, it's was around 2010 when it was strictly enforced.
In other countries impersonating an emergency vehicle is a serious offense that attracts serious fines and even jail time. In the Philippines you can put ebay flashers on your private vehicle and it is just "Yeah, whatever". That needs to change.
SLEX patrol must also apprehend these vehicles with private plates but with blinkers & escorted by HPG just to be ahead in congested part of SLEX usually between Mamplasan & Susana heights exits.
would be nice if u can visit around alabang-zapote road, a lot of "wang wangs"/blinkers and with hpg escorts..not an emergency, just avoiding traffic.
The bus lane has been implemented ages ago and it is well laid to all who or what can and can’t use it however, still a lot of people kept violating it and feel untitled to. They ask for governance change but could not even self discipline and follow basic rules for a change themselves! So ironic!

why they didn't confiscate the blinkers? if they cant show any registration, they should impound the vehicle. that is the huge difference between motorcycles and 4 wheels.if the motorcycle rider cant show any copy of the registration, they will impound the motorcycle immediately. if 4 wheels cant show any copy of registration , only ticket?

They should issue another citation to the one who took a picture of the enforcer's ID for making threats. By saying he's going to send it to a higher up, he is threatening the enforcer. The enforcer officials must protect their men. Any threat to an enforcer should be a threat to the department.
sumple steps of apprehension. Step 1: flag the vehicle. Step 2: "license and registration please" (repeat over and over until driver gives the license). Step 3: write the ticket. Step 4: "give the ticket and license to the driver and waive them off."
let's cut the red tape on this process so the buses don't pile up behind the violator.

Sir, Please recommend a bodycam for enforcers who faces the violators (Enforcers who issue tickets or directly communicate to all violators). I believe with this, Threats ca be avoided especially when violators know they are being recorded.

Or just the bus lane violation? Enforcers usually do "specific jobs" "selected ticketing" meaning if they are not told, then they will not fully implement the law. - and this is a fact that many can give evidences.

When the HPG (Highway Patrol Group) is guarding the Bus Lane and a staff car of the PNP (Philippine National Police) passes by, they don't stop it. Even if the PNP personnel are riding motorcycles without plates and pass through the bus lane, they still don't stop them. They just wave at each other.

Why not make it a counterflowing bus. 1st the doors will be on the sidewalk, second there will be less people try to go into the bus lane

Private vehicles pretending to be emergency responders should have their vehicle immediately and permanently seized by the government and used as an emergency vehicle.
it would be great if you would just fine them on the spot for 25k then if they cant pay they should have their vehicle impounded no questions asked that bus lane has already been there long enough to be known to all of the drivers that its not for them to use. let them suffer the consequence so that you can show them that you mean business. otherwise the respective authorities are the ones who doesnt care about these offenders. dont wait for them for 1st offense warning because its already long over due for the people to know what is the use of a bus lane
