- My Project Plans jonpeters.com/
I made this handy wooden hose holder from a 4' piece of 5/4" Ipe wood left over from a deck I built a few years ago. This is a pretty simple but satisfying woodworking project that will help get your garden hose organized and off the lawn. Be sure to pre-drill the screw holes when using Ipe or other dense hard woods to prevent your screws from breaking when assembling the hose holder. I've been using the lightweight zero-G Hose from Teknor Apex for the past few years and and am really satisfied with the performance and durability.

Totally agree with everything everyone has said about the design especially the nozzle holder. My wife loves the Zero-G because of how light it is when she wants to water the flower beds. I now have four, front of house for the wife, garage, pressure washer, and one at the farm.
Thanks Lance! Funny my wife was just saying the same thing... lightweight and easy to handle.. it awesome to be working with such a great product.
I'm with you on the Zero-G hoses. I'm also using 4 now, and will add others when current rigid hoses wear out.
The simplest little projects are the most satisfying sometimes. This also kicked off a 3 video binge watch of the garage shelves & the storage box on top of the 4 wheeler!! Like I said, sometimes the simplest projects are the most satisfying... Hope all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!
Ha ha ha 😄👍that’s awesome thanks Mike! Be good my friend
You got it Bud!! And my bad man, I never hit the like button!!! All good now!! Mike G. out!!
Watched this video today and then went out and made one out of scrap wood. It was super easy with your designs! Thanks! I have 2 more to make now. It works perfect!
Great project Jon. Also like the idea of having the shutoff located right at the hose holder. To get to my shutoff right now, I have to walk thru my garden. Much more convenient your way!
Love the simple design, makes for a quick build and great result. Looked like Ipe.
I built a couple of these over the weekend. Very nice, quick, project. I built mine from leftover Redwood deck board ends.
Cool! Definitely a great scrap wood project 👍
Great idea. Very satisfying project! Always striving for your level of organisation 👍 thanks as always for the videos, tips and advice
Your woodwork always has such a beautiful aesthetic quality even on utilitarian pieces like this. Amazing
Thanks Albert
I know when no one was looking, you made sure it was plumb. :-)
Thanks for sharing
You know me to well Tony 😄👍
Jon loves them curves. Haha. Great little project. I may have to copy.
Man you are the greatest, I just don’t know anyone that give plans like you. Thanks a lot.
Adorei! Vou tentar fazer um.
Obrigada
Thanks for the time response.
Well done. Very simple, but extremely useful. Thank you!
Quick simple build. Thanks for sharing.
Love mine. Got them for the front and backyard.
Nice! Thanks John
I was already looking at a Teknor Apex hose and this video led me to another one of their products and I’m buying it today. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your plans. This was a nice project.
Great video Jon! I actually just made a video on a hose stand I made recently.
Much different style but solved the same problem I guess we both had around the house. Those are sometimes my favorite projects, simple little fixes for daily problems around the house.
Great work as always!!
Well executed project
Less talk, more action... Love it
👍
Simple and functional!!
Nice wooden hose holder Jon! Thanks for sharing the video with us.👍👌😎JP
Definitely a great project and great hose. I bought my Zero-G because of one of your videos.
Thanks!
Several weeks ago I got an order to make a standing hose reel. I made it from steel. I used 1” square 14 ga tubing. The lady now wants 4 more. I like yours. Thanks.
Cool 👍 sounds awesome! Thanks
I love it. Thanks, Jon!
Thank you!
So glad you made this vid and this is so much nicer than most hose reels which I need right now
I especially like the gun holder
I shall be diving into my wood pile today
Subscribed and thank you
Great! Thanks for an idea!
Great idea! Thanks
Very stylish; especially the clever little handle holder. However isn't it a bit narrow and may cause creases and kinks?
Great idea like the nozzle holder going to make mine out of composite material I hate maintenance painting etc
Nice job !!!😊
I think I will make a version of this design. I’ll probably have to do a few, our machine shed has about 8 garden hoses piled on the floor. Nice work!
Thank you! Definitely an easy project to batch out
Very helpful!
Sweet project.
Wow that was very cool simple and precise!
Thanks man! Appreciate it
I love this. I love the hose. Great job Jon
Awesome! Thanks 👍
Love these videos!! Thanks for taking the time to make them.
Sincerely
Rod
Thanks Rod!
Very nice job a big hug from PR
Excellent! Your video gave me some useful ideas to use on my next hose caddy build. I recognize that you have great woodworking skills, but you might want to consider using a push stick on those narrow rip cuts. I mangled my hand a couple of years ago when I had kickback on such a cut.
Great project Jon, awesome job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻 .... Absolutely love zero-G hoses!
That’s awesome! Thanks Fred 👍
Easy relaxing build. Great work as always Jon.
Thanks David
Excellent 👍
IPE decking. Awesome material. And awesome work and great idea
robert castillo thanks!
Just happens that I have an extra board of Ipe. This is a good use for that! Thanks Jon!
Thanks Mark... Perfect! Great use of a piece of scrap wood.... I should’ve made this a few years ago I really like having the hook to hold the nozzle.
...and yet another Jon build added to my must build list :>), Thanks, Jon.
Glad to hear it Steve! 👍
Thanks very nice 👍
Great project Jon! I really need to make me one of those! And also get a Zero-G hose.......... Thanks
Thanks Steve!
Hermoso lugar
Good job.
Nice and simple! Really enjoyed the build!
Thanks Jeff!
Another well done video Jon....
Thanks Dude!
Love the nozzle holder.
Thanks Paul.... it’s great for my OCD 😄
@@JonPetersArtHome I know how that is. Lol
Amazing...👏👌
Thanks!
Hi, Peter how do you prepare shellac?
good job bro
cool project, Where did you buy the Cover or Sheath for the garden hose ? What brand garden hose ? Thx for showing project
Nice one once again Jon
Thanks Dave!
Nice👍👍👋👋
Très bien
Nice idea. I was thinking maybe a few slats to infill the cavity but leaving drainage holes to make a little spot for different nozzles, connectors etc.
Thanks!
Tg u for sharing..**
very nice as usual.it looks great and is not your regular hardware store product.
Step one: have a full wood workshop with every tool possible
Ha ha ha 😂 I guess so.
Jon, after making a cut on the table saw (1:07), you scraped the board against something on your fence. What was that and what is the purpose? Thanks for your time.
I was hitting the off switch for my dust collector
My dad is missing the tip if his right index finger because he was pushing without a push stick, watch those fingers. Nice build none the less.
Para hacer esto cuantas herramientas necesito?
I saw the Zero-G hose when I was at Lowes last time and wondered if it was any good. Glad to know that it is, but now I don't know what to do with my current hoses if I get a new one.
Definitely the best Hose I’ve ever used highly recommend it.
Nerf Herder ............Dear Friends of God......................Please research God's Time/Calendar in Genesis 1:14 before a False Sabbath law is enforced! Actions are in progress to honor a Sabbath day, “Green Sabbath”, “Laudato Si, par. 237”, etc.
Already today, there are Sunday laws written on government books.
The true Sabbath Is not Friday, Saturday, Sunday, etc. The true Sabbath is calculated by true time, Genesis 1:14.
The first week.....the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day.
The second, third and fourth week........six work days and then Sabbath day.
Genesis 1:14 is a commandment from God. God commanded us to let the lights in heaven be for days, years, etc. We are to use the sun, moon and stars to calculate our days, years, signs, seasons, Sabbaths, etc., not the Gregorian calendar or any other man-made time.
The Sabbath commandment is one of the Ten commandments listed in Exodus 20 and It is just as important as the other nine commandments. It is to be kept!
God has three category of days in the Bible, the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day.
God’s months start with the new moon day, which is the first day of the month. The Gregorian calendar do not start its months with the new moon day. The new moon day falls anywhere and everywhere on the Gregorian calendar.
Sometimes, on the famous Gregorian calendar, the new moon day falls on the “Gregorian Seventh day Saturday Sabbath.”
How can it both be the first day of the month and the seventh day Sabbath?
This along should help a person to see that the Gregorian calendar is not true time and that the Biblical Sabbath should not be calculated by it.
The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people Israel and whosoever join themselves to them. One law is to Israel and to the stranger. Exodus 12:48,49
Also, research the "Seven Noahide Laws" and Education Day U.S.A. Do the “Seven Noahide Laws”
From my research online, these laws are Jewish laws taken from their writings, namely the Talmud. The first law in “The seven Noahide laws" forbids the worship of idols.
According to Jewish writings, the worship of Jesus, Yahushua, etc........is idolatry and is punishable by death, decapitation.
Will these laws be enforced on all nations???
Research the connection between the United Nations, The Presidents, President Bush, President Trump, etc. and “The Seven Noahide laws"
THESE "SEVEN NOAHIDE LAWS". SEEMS TO BE VERY DANGEROUS TO CHRISTIANS AND TO ALL MANKIND!!
Lastly, there is much talk online that the Jewish people occupying the land of Israel today are not the true Israelites and that the true Israelites are today now scattered throughout the nations, is this true?
There are also other groups of people who say that they are the true Jews.
Jesus said in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9 that someone is saying that they are Jews but are not but are the synagogue of Satan.
If Jesus warns us about a synagogue of Satan in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9, should not we be concern?
If the people residing in the land of Israel not true Israel, then who are they and what is their agenda for the world?
Who are the true Bloodline Jews?
HAVE A GOOD DAY FRIENDS OF GOD..........GLORY TO THE FATHER AND SON!
Clearly described, worthwhile project. Thank you.
Thanks Chris
I would have sanded the mounting location on the post. I like the way you clamp to the table.
Ha :) yeah but then a small project would turn into a big one
30 seconds of hand sanding would not stretch the project out too much.
I love my Zero-G hose. it's the "bees-knees". Thanks for the recommendation, Jon!
Thanks Josh! For sure I’ll never use a regular hose again.
Hi Jon, sweet project, why the project ended without applying a finish on it? Thanks for your time..
Thanks... no need to finish Ipe wood... but I’ll probably add a coat of Ipe oil next year to keep it from turning totally gray
Ist cool
Awesome..surprised you didnt put wood glue though
Greetings if your starting off your own RUclips channel, how do you get people to sponsor you?
Great work!! But all those tools... hardly I have a screwdriver and a hammer.
Great project! Your’s looks so nice I’d hate to hang my crappy hose on it. 😂 Well done, sir! 👍🏼 Thanks for the free plans.
You got it 👍 thanks man I appreciate the comment !
John, that is a great design. Did you use an off cut of ipe?
Thanks Alan, yes this was a four foot long off cut from a deck I built a few years ago... just enough with a few inches left over.
The ground works fine for me 😂
Looks way better than a plastic hose reel.
Thanks Justin 👍
Simple but not gaudy or out of place. I know exactly where i will be placing mine when its finished. Did you put a sealer or finish coat on this holder? Thanks Jon
Thanks Liam!
Liam, Ipe really doesn't need a sealer. Some wood oil would help keep its color (it will turn gray over time) but isn't essential.
Sorry I didn’t see the question… Mark is right you really don’t need a finish but I might apply a coat of ipe oil next year to Keep it on the Darkside
@@JonPetersArtHome Excellent idea. Will do. Keep up the great wk... & thanks to Mark too.
The beard is looking good dude. Great video too
Thanks Man !
Jon, What brand of bits do you use... I noticed they seem to have no problem gripping whatsoever.
The brand is WL Fuller made in 🇺🇸
@@JonPetersArtHome I need to clarify... I meant the screwdriver bits... Sorry about the confusion
The pan head screws were a nice touch on the front rather than sinking deck screws! Great project!!
Thanks Sean!
👍👍👍👍👍
Where do you buy ipe?
Check your local lumberyard… Most home store won’t carry it
👍
What type of wood is that?
ipe wood very dense and hard wood mostly used for decking
Looks awesome but the hose will pinch once you turn it on. Everytime you use it you'll have to remove all the hose off the holder
Thanks and the hose doesn’t pinch... work perfect if you want to see I’ll be posting another video to my shop talk channel next week answering a few questions about the project.
How to fix a automatic water hose roller
Il fallait y penser
Nice job but i dont have fancy expensive tools.
How are you jonpeter please reply me
1:01 --- use push sticks/blocks boys and girls, fingers are valuable/ don't grow back.
There is always someone in the comment section that will find something he/she feels is wrong just to write a comment so they can feel better about themselves. Push sticks are required when distance to fence is narrower than your hand. However if you still feel you need one in all cases then you maybe you should not be using a table saw. Table saws are dangerous by design.
👋👋👍👏👏👏🇪🇸
I bought the material to make this and then realized that i don't have a wood shop with all those tools.
Automatic hose roller
I have counted approximately 10 tools. Although its management is enviable, I believe that what is intended is that I invest in a hardware store business. I buy something simpler imported from China.
You should never not have a beard 👌
Ha ha 😄👍Cool thanks Wayde
I was wondering why anyone would need a holder for a wooden hose?
They tend to tip over. Major tripping hazard.
