I love Ms.Cunningham's work. Her work had a huge influence on me me when I was in my young teens in the early seventies. She was an astounding photographer and remains an important figure to the medium of photography. Thanks Joel!

My dad was at the Focus Gallery in San Francisco. He came down the stairs and there was an elderly woman on the sidewalk. She called out to him "Young man! Can you give me a ride?" It was Imogen. He drove her home.
I’m sure she made a comment on the photographer and the work being shown. As in “young man, stop wasting your time…” while it was her work being shown…
"I don't love the world. I don't like a lot of people in it, just a few." Yeah. Breathing in the world of today is a little like being drawn to the magic of classical music while being raised in a house full of TV wrestling fans.

I picked up a copy of Imogene Cunningham: Photographs at a used bookstore and, frankly never got into it much. Thanks for a better understanding.
Hey Gary! I'm glad the video helped you better understand the approach of this great photographer. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
She was the commencement speaker at her (and my) alma mater, the University of Washington, in 1974. Tiny lady, almost swallowed by the podium.

At 79 I am in discovery. Again
