Y'all.
It's been over a year since we first posted this. We know Kewpie is great. We knew it then too. Kewpie has an unfair advantage over all of these. That MSG makes it rise above the rest, we know. The two options for squeezing it out and the fun shape of the soft, plastic bottle is great. But we wanted an even playing field here. Thanks, as always, for watching!

Kewpie is not even close to Blue Plate! Kewpie should loose against Hellman's, Blue Plate, and several others as it is just that nasty. One sandwich and I had to throw the whole bottle away along with only two bites of the sandwich! This is how bad Kewpie is!!!!!

That is by far the worse Mayo Ever.... I tried Kewpie and Puked it tasted so so Nasty... I hate Duke's but nothing is worse than Kewpie!

I’ve tasted many brands of mayo in my 72 years, and amazingly, I found Krafts olive oil mayo to taste the best. I believe their food engineers knocked it out of the park

Not having Blue Plate in this taste test makes it obsolete. Blue Plate is hands down the best Mayo you can get from a store.
You're only the second person I've heard this but I'm curious but may I suggest trying Mike's amazing I'm sure you've had Duke's.

Kewpie has a weird aftertaste. I actually prefer the Shirakiku brand mayo to Kewpie. Kewpie is easier to get where I live though.
Kewpie is worse than Duke's, JFG, the Kroger Brand and all others... not lying I bought a jar based on your comment, and had to throw away my sandwich and the whole jar... that is how so so so nasty it tasted! But Blue Plate is the best, sorry Kewpie is just so so so so so so gross and nasty, I threw away my 4 bucks immediately! Never ever ever buy this nasty tasting thing! Sorry, I'm being serious, I was so so so disappointed in how Gross it tasted... and I'm just a regular guy!

Even thinking Kewpie is good makes one have bad taste buds! Sorry, I went out and tried it based on YT and realized it is up there in now my three grossest foods of all time! 1. Brussel Sprouts, 2. Butter Beans, and now 3. KEWPIE!!!!!!!!

If you just put some Hellman's Extra Heavy, it would be the instant winner. The extra heavy mayo is the one that restaurants get and it tastes way better. That's why whenever you get food at a restaurant or a sandwich from a deli you always wonder why the mayo tastes so much better than when you made sandwich at home. It's made with a lot more egg yolks and tastes about 50x better.

We use Kewpie from Japan, which by the way you, LA Times, declared as best mayo out there.

This is the comparison I want to know about out of these 3. The south is fighting on who’s better. I want to know how they’re different.
@@mzmaryd6452 Duke's (the Carolinas) has a vinegary edge to it. Whereas Hellman's has a more eggy edge to it. Blue Plate (Lousiana) is like Duke's but more neutral.
Heinz is what Chick-fil-a uses and it's good too. Kraft Real Mayonnaise is also good.
Since Im a Southerner, i use Duke's and Blue Plate. Maybe Duke's is slightly better for cold cuts and potato salad (savory) and Blue Plate is slightly better for cole slaw and Waldorf salads, but that's splitting hairs.

Finally someone who is not afraid to say Duke's is not that good... Give me McCormick over Duke's anyday, but nothing is ever going to be better than Blue Plate... however, I'm only here to say how Nasty and I do mean Gross and Nasty Kewpie is... Normally I would say that about Duke's but Kewpie is the Grossest thing I have almost ever tasted, I bought a Jar for over 5 bucks and threw the whole thing away... Kewpie is just that bad!

I so so so hate Duke's, it is just so so nasty, and when I moved from GA to the Carolina's and people said, only Duke's I tried it.. only to be so so repulsed.... Blue Plate rocks!

Miracle Whip is hands down, the most delicious and perfect mayonnaise. I grew up with Miracle Whip, being heavily slathered on two pieces of White Wonder Bread , with a thick slab of Liver Warts and thinly sliced, pickled red onions.

As a kid my parents always bought Kraft. As a teen I gravitated to Hellmann's and have been a fan for 40 years. I haven't tried Duke's but I am going to give it a go and I just had 2 bottles of Kewpie delivered that I will be investigating on my own terms. Can't believe that I have never tried McCormick but I will have to grab a jar. My wife says I am a goofball. This much I know! Oh and Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise, it's crap!

Not eve close, it is the nastiest tasting crap... I have ever tasted... I bought it based on comments and threw away the whole jar... that is how gross it tasted.... I bet if Gordon Ramsay compared it to Blue Plate or Hellmans or even the nasty Dukes... he'd throw it away in a minute.... I puked on it!! seriously, it made me puke!

I've never heard anyone other than these guys say Kraft is good. Top mayo choices I've seen on other videos and people i know are, in no particular order, Dukes, Best Foods (Hellmann's), McCormick, Kewpie, and Blue Plate.
i think it’s common to conflate increased quantity/availability and lower price with decreased quality; the whole mass-produced macromayo vs smaller micromayos. but i will say that Kraft olive oil mayo is really good and absolutely worth a try with how relatively cheap it is.

I got scared during covid food shortages when I couldn't find it at 2 stores for a few weeks, and managed to buy what I think were the last 6 jars in my county after searching a bunch of stores. It came back a few weeks later, but it was worth the security of knowing.

Hey guys. Big FAIL. Who told you Miracle Whip is mayonnaise? Take it out of the line up. Read the label which says mayonnaise nowhere. It is salad dressing, sweet on purpose. Works great when you want a sweet ingredient to hold together sweet deviled eggs or potato salad. Don't want sweet? Use mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip. I am in the camp of those who Love Miracle Whip for some foods and prefer mayonnaise for other foods... Miracle Whip is not as polarizing as you've been led to believe, unless you expect it to be mayonnaise. Then, you will be disappointed for sure.

I know Hellmann's is the most popular mayo, and it's what my dad bought growing up. But I MUCH prefer Kraft or Dukes, and even some store brands over it. I went to a friends house growing up and his mom used Kraft instead of Hellmann's, and the tuna fish sandwich tasted 10 times better than normal, and this was WITH inferior tuna. They used chunk light, and my dad bought solid fancy albacore in water. That's when I knew that Hellmann's was done in my eyes. It's been Kraft ever since.

Here is the problem with people like you, this is about comparing store bought Mayo, not making your own. Gordon Ramsay has a great Mayo Recipie, and of course it will taste better than preservatives.... Did you even watch the video?, Hellmann's is at the start, it's just named Best Foods in other places
@@mikeda1532 Yeah, I watched it, but I missed the part that he said "also known as Hellman's"....SO SUE ME ! Cal 1-800 LAWYER ...LOL ! Anyway, a few years ago, I saw a segment about a mayo taste test on America's test kitchen, and Blue Plate was ranked number one. For some reason, I couldn't find that particular video to watch again to find out where Hellman's or Best foods finished, but I would bet the farm that it didn't come in last. I also don't remember if Duke's, (which I never tried) was included, but a lot of people rank it very high. Hellman's may, or may not have come in behind Dukes. Regardless, all three need to be on the top shelf when it comes to mayo brands.

Where I live, Kewpie mayonnaise and products are everywhere (honey mustard, tartar sauce, Caesar's dressing, mayo variations etc) but I really dislike it very much cos it tastes like marker pen...other Kewpie dressings also taste like too much salt & MSG, a bit of artificial wasabe...So far, the best mayo for me is Heinz...creamy, tangy, mild...I wish I could taste other mayonnaise by mported brands as well if they're available.

In high school I did culinary arts one day we made mayo I always hated mayo I was a miracle whip kinda guy but after eating something I made from scratch I really like mayo now I like hellman's an dukes but looking for blue plate but just enjoy what you like it’s all good.
