I absolutely adore these promos! The editing is fantastic! The kiss and response @ 0:47, the timing of Jane Russell’s face with the saxophone @ 0:57, of course @ 1:06 ending with William Powell’s thing are not only creative, clever and entertaining, but makes me want to explore more classic films just to be able to stitch together my own montage movie visuals. Thank you to those who are responsible for constructing these magnificent moments.
Gotta Dance was the subject of next week's theme for TCM Musical Matinee but so far this month was an event devoted to each star from August 1st through 31st now....
I echo the praise for the editing, and the appreciation for TCM. As time marches on, TCM becomes more and more valuable. I look forward to the new, but remain ever more adamant that nothing of the old be lost to neglect or nature.
Bravo, TCM.....that song and watching all the beautiful "real" movie stars in the promo are perfect for Summer or any time...definitely setting my DVR.
Always love that Summer Under The Stars happens during my birth month. But bummer this year the star on my birthday is one I'm not a fan of. LOL. Still got a lot of really cool stars on other days
This is one of the reasons why I love Summer Under the Stars too! I'm the 14th & so thrilled I'm getting a day of Anne Bancroft! Happy August Birthdays 🎂🎉
Has anybody in the TCM sphere seen the 1931;pre Code film Iron Man starring a 22 year old Lew Ayres and a very young Jean Harlow. in this film, she played a bitchy Femme Fatale.
TCM needs to play more pre code film, especially ones from studios other than MGM and RKO. More 1930s films should be included I personally, had enough of 50s to 60s terrible films that TCM keeps on playing.
Hope tcm plays Shanghai Express- so many great movies are not played, same ones over and over, and don’t like when you have anything over 1950s on, just not tcm when you do that.
A bit soon. They do schedule months ahead. But as was stated, I am sure we'll see something in September or more likely in October (Which would no doubt include The Shining)
Like the month devoted to Academy Award winning movies I usually skip the annual Under The Stars month. It’s almost always the same old same old and without Robert Osborne hosting, there’s little to make me want to tune in again. I spotted Leo Gorcey in the clips on this promo. Could he actually be one of the “stars” featured? I doubt it!
@@johnbailey5304 now how could I miss the clip from Some Like it Hot? I was head usher at The Lowe’s State Theatre where that film was showing back in the 60s. I must have seen that wonderful film several hundred times as usher. I got to know nearly ever line. So you’re right please forgive me on that one.
When the world is chilly, mad - **turn on the GLOW. Glad you're there, TCM, truly.

I agree with every single word of your beautifully written comment. TCM's promos are like mini movies. Perfection.
Their promos are the BEST!!!! I can watch them all day!!
August is a perfect month for me. My DVR will definitely be full during that month!!!
And that song playing in the promo--so smooth!!!

Thank you, TCM. I love these promos!! And appreciate the extra work in putting them together for us!!

Americana.
Brilliant promo

Brilliant - perfect music choice and images. Love TCM
This was an absolutely brilliant promo, compliments to the makers! 👏🏻
Thanks TCM. Stunning promo.
Can't wait for Marlene Dietrich!
Thanks, TCM! Happy Summer, all.
People will see Marlane in the rarely seen Blonde Venus and Morocco all made through Paramount Pictures productions
The best best best promos. Always.
I love Summer of Stars. It's so good ❤
TCM is the greatest. Great video 📸🎨🎭🎬🎥👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just a heads-up to TV fans out there. We've lost someone recently. Shannon Dougherty of 90210 fame has died today. My heart goes out to her family. ❤
Wow, he was incredible! 😊❤
Fantastic!❤
I think if they tried they could do this while including Noir Alley and Sunday night imports.
OSSIE DAVIS!!!! 💥
*le sigh*, simply divine. ✨
Who is performing this song? TCM always uses the best

Many thanks! Adding to my playlist now😀

@@jeden75 NOICE!
YES!!
No one in Hollywood today can touch these classic artists with a million foot pole.
I would love to know which film clip is used when Montgomery Clift looks right at the camera and just flashes the most beautiful smile????
"I Confess" (1953).
When you upload these videos... Can you please list the movies seen in them?
Can TCM remember Shannen Doherty please? Thank you so much!
WOW, TCM is still around. Forgot about it as I dumped cable in 2002.
Cool 😊
Awesome.
🎉
NOw a list with all the movies please 😢
Anyone knows which flick is featured at -1:06? Looks like a Baroque ballroom entrance of some sort.
Maybe Jane Powell and Gordon MacRae in "Three Sailors And A Girl" (1953).
Anyone knows what movie the clip is from which appears at 0:35-0:37? Is it Madame Bovary with Jennifer Jones!?!?
Found it! It’s Lydia 😊
I vant to be alone… 💜💕💜💕
Futuros amantes... Não sei como, mas todos eles entram em casa.
What is the beautiful song playing in the background and who is the artist?

@@OniLordMiki Thank you! I couldn't find it using sound hound.
Can anyone please tell me what films the first two clips are from before the TCM logo/branding appears? I need them in my life!!!! Thank you
First is the French Lieutenant’s Woman and the second is something with Julie Andrews. Can’t tell.
@@thenewdawn9963 thank you 😊
May just have to catch "A Letter to Three Wives" this time finally…
It’s SO good!!!

TCM plays too many musicals. What demographics are they aiming?
Who is the singer?
Leisure
Is Star! Being shown?
Unfortunately, no. I was hoping that it would be shown too.

No Shelley Duvall tribute?
I'm sure it's coming

@@richardswol9567 Thank you for the update. 👍
1:11 is Eleanor Powell, right? Does anyone know the movie it’s from.
I think it might be Rosalie from 1937?
Herbert Marshall?lol
Tcm original no Brasil

He is. The whole lineup of stars is featured in the description.
Probably the usual crapola.
I didn’t see Brando,Lemmon,
Monroe, Allen, Robinson,
