    Actual description: In this video I run my triple swapped X2 around the JSB track at incredible speeds. I realize that I'm full of myself... but I have watched this footage literally dozens of times, and it is still shocking to me... This is why I choose the "Peter Heckman" title... Isle of man record holder ... and symphony of destruction being the sound my X2 makes while it tears itself apart !

    It was interesting to watch your x2 flying around the trail/track. The intensity of a fast ski through those small water ways was undeniable. Much more interesting to watch than say a stock wave blaster 2 haha. Was a blast when we were all out there riding the track together. Too bad about the weather those days though, not that it detracted from our experience. But rather the videos would have looked better if the weather had been better. But oh well maybe next time. It was funny to watch you grass your pump and fly off into the weeds. I probably did a real lol when I saw that part. 😂 pretty wild to see the engine light up at night after that last ride. Too bad it damaged the engine but I suppose you’re a tinkerer at heart so at least you won’t be bored right? Any way good vibes nice video thanks for sharing 👍🍻

      I'm obviously bias, but I've watched the raw footage of my hot laps several times now, haha. It would have been nice if it wasn't so overcast and if more of the riding could have been with more daylight... but it was still amazing.
      I was very much in enjoy myself mode, and not make videos mode... I recorded footage but didn't give it a lot of thought when it was happening.
      I'm going to agree that this is more exciting than a stock waveblaster, however, I do think that I could go all day on a blaster... and it wouldn't blow up. WB2 not included, haha.
      The first riding clip of this video was after a full day of working on stuff and then a bunch of riding. I was so tired I couldn't stand on the X2 except when I had to stand for a hard corner. That's why at one point I said " I was relaxing sitting down" or something like that. If you watch it again you can maybe see that the last few turns before I weeded it, I wasn't standing up... I was just kneeling and leaning off the side, haha... I would have actually had to put in some physical effort to avoid the weeds.... so I choose not to 🤣.
      The engine needed a rebuild anyway, as the crank is bad... so I'm just glad it was the piston that let go and not the crank. I'm also glad the piston let go when riding back to shore fairly slowly, instead of during one of my hot laps...

      I'm not sure if you are speaking in general (me using footage from the past) or if you are talking about my engine popping.
      I visited the JSB for two weeks and filmed several hours each day. It's tough to manage one video a week, with everything else that I have / had going on. As for not spilling the beans on the engine popping, I didn't want to spoil it. I figured it might take away from some of the excitement of the trip overall, and the X2 ripping, if yall knew the outcome.
      It's also a much needed buffer to allow me to get other projects in order and start the transition into fall. Spent most of the day yesterday working on stuff for taxes ... but today I worked on the Jammer all day, haha.

    87 Octane...??? What were you thinking Joel!! What's your compression at again? Great shredding footage though! I love tight stuff like that! I thought the music with the engine noise still present was great! Good taste in music.

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  9 месяцев назад +1

      Haha ! There are a few additional details that may make it better or worse, but basically this all happened because I didn't want to impose.
      To start, my engine had about 145psi... not crazy. However, that's the psi at my elevation here in Calgary, about 3500 ft, that's why I briefly mentioned being at sea level, when it popped. This not only changes the compression, but also makes it run leaner than I would be at home.
      I had considered all of this, and was running 94 octane that I brought from home. I had about 13 gallons. After a few outings on the X2, it seemed like it was fairly safe, altho I didn't do any real plug color testing or check the compression there.
      After burning up all of my fuel, Josh wanted to be nice and pay for my fuel. They were filling up like 15 containers, and I didn't want to be like... "I know you're buying me fuel, but I need you to buy me 94 octane" 14 containers of regular and one special one for Joel... I do realize that this wouldn't have been a big deal, but I don't like to impose.
      So, yeah... that's how it went down.
      I don't get to ride water like that very often, but it was amazing ! Well worth it, haha.

      @JoelArseneaultRUclips Man... I've been in situations like this so I get it.. but man! You should have insisted just buying it yourself and at least getting our crappy premium 91! I'm surprised the JSB didn't know better, I mean everyone knows Joel's motor isn't exactly stock, lol! You're a good dude Joel, I wish we lived near each other, I know we would be great friends.

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  9 месяцев назад

      @@AtimatikArmy Well... on top of everything I've already said, I had also cut .020" off of the domes as a "safety margin" after the pistons had made contact haha.
      The biggest for me being relaxed about using 87, is that I'm usually pretty "lucky" when it comes to running regular fuel... When I make a big change I will run 91 or 94, and then carefully move my way back to 87 while monitoring. BJ always uses 104LL and shakes his head at me, haha. This is the first time I have had a failure due to octane, and I really did a good job of stacking the chips against myself.
      "You're a good dude Joel, I wish we lived near each other, I know we would be great friends." I agree ... I don't suppose there any chance you are considering moving to Canada 🤣

      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  9 месяцев назад

      @@AtimatikArmy 🤣 If you watch too much news or hang out on social media, you get the idea the whole world is gone to shit... Over all we are all objectively better off than we ever have been, and much of what is happening is a result of people not having any "real" struggle...
      Personally, when I create my own struggles, they take the form of trying to stuff a big engine into a small ski, or making my own custom cylinder head. Some people play video games or build ships inside of bottles... other people can't be bothered to actually challenge themselves with "real" challenges... You know, pretending you're a victim, or pretend to protect others that you claim are victims ... even though, objectively you can't explain ideas. We live in a world where video games are more real than some people's reality.

      @@rickrick3545 The video isn't on another channel, it's "unlisted", on this channel. Meaning, that it can only be accessed through a link. I have done this, because in the past, I have released both videos and had the same result. When I release both videos, my regular viewers will have both videos recommended to them, as RUclips doesn't know they are the same video, and I don't want to annoy and confuse people.
      It should also be noted that, by releasing the second video, I am hurting my channel, as it hurts my RUclips statistics. RUclips sees I'm releasing videos that are only getting 10-30 views, assume I'm doing something wrong and stops suggesting my videos to people.
      I watch a lot of RUclips, and I've also edited a lot of videos over the past 9 years. I fully appreciate that a lot of people don't like music in videos, as I myself am generally not a fan of it. Especially when it is done poorly.
      WIth that being said, there are a lot of reasons that almost everyone uses music in videos, and also reasons why "digital music crap" gets used extensively. I'll keep it short, but music is an editing tool used to deal with bad audio, unwanted background noise and transitions that would otherwise be distracting.
      The reason electronic music is used is because it is the most widely available music that can be used without the paying copyright fees, having your video taken down or having all of the funds from your video go to the copyright owner. RUclips has a music library, and this is what most small time RUclipsrs use. Some larger channels can afford to pay for a service that provides them with more music options. If I had my way, I'd be using Rage Against the Machine, Slayer, Moterhead, Ghost, Sleep ... Probably some electronic too... A lot of Aesop Rock.
