    Thanks for making these incredibly fun videos. I'm a complete dilettante - don't ride a motorcycle, don't even have a driver's license, but motorbike racing and in particular road racing and the TT mesmerise me.
    Looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces do what they do best again - and looking forward to seeing Hickey do well ... dunno there's just something about that guy that makes me really like him :)

    You only really notice the irony of all this if you watch the last minute of the interview. He's said several times that the main goal is winning, not getting the highest average speed. If he could win with an average speed of 100mph, he would. That's clever. As he says, a lap record will be broken - but nobody can take a win away.

    Peter is a super talent on a bike but also has other great assets in his chosen sport. He is very articulate. His whole manner is considered and precise. He is not Irish so I can understand him and many others no doubt. The Irish boys are great but how many could understand Joey. I like the way he thinks about the pace. The emphasis is on winning but at the pace of necessity and not balls out for no reason. Good luck and safe racing.

    That was absolutely fascinating. Hicky's a top guy; a thoughtful individual; and - of course - an incredible road & track racer. I just hope Dunlop manage to sort out the (near-catastrophic) shambles that we witnessed at the NW200. Given that virtually everyone at the TT sharp-end will be using their rubber, it's absolutely vital that the riders have total confidence in their tyres. Fingers & toes crossed then eh?

  • @Toast-ej2lr
    @Toast-ej2lr 3 месяца назад +1

    I understand what Hicky means by being in the zone. Best feeling in the world. Nothing else matters. The bike is working well providing excellent feedback. The rider is feeling good. The road is offering good traction. Everything is smooth and flowing. It's just the rider, machine and road all rolled into one. I find it quite relaxing. Better than sex.

    The onboard video that Hicky did a few years ago on the BMW with cameras all over it pointing various ways was, for me, the best on board video I've ever seen, still, to this day. It was such a buzz just watching it, and was surely the closest video, done yet, that shows just how fast these super skilled riders are going. For people that have never been on a big 1000 cc super bike, it comes close to how it feels trying to hold on to one of these beasts, but even for people who have experienced modern super bikes, there's not many people who have the skills required to ride the TT course, safely, and to the level of these guys, although I'm sure many will claim to be just as fast, if not, faster, because there is always the vocal minority who have to belittle someone who is showing awesome talent. Can't wait for the racing to start, especially after the couple of years with no IOMTT. Stay safe everyone 🤞👌

    Lap record will be broken as electronic cheating becomes more dominant. All electronic rider “aids” should be removed in all forms of racing as racing is SUPPOSED to be Rider & Motorcycle. Of course those Obsessed with the Illusion of “safety” will whine & mewl over such a statement but 🤣 Great interview and I hope this style of information seeking straight from the Riders continues.
