    What a wonderful little film. This is how to do a PR piece right. It's not just a promotion for Arai's products, it's a celebration of everything and everyone that makes the Isle of Man TT so special. In particular it was great to see the scouts featured and interviewed, as well as Paul Kermode. I'd always wanted to know more about the man who gives the riders that famous tap on the shoulder, and it was so interesting to see him interviewed and get his thoughts and perspectives. Brilliant job, Arai.

      Earlier this year I came over from Canada to do my first Irish road races at Cookstown and Tandragee, and I still hope to race at the Isle of Man some day. This video has inspired me to keep that hope alive.

    • @tonypate9174
      @tonypate9174 5 лет назад

      +TNTinBC Did you get to do the Manx ? The scouts get a "badge" for working on the "board" of course it's unique to the island and very highly prized by the locals youth even when older "senior" folk ! Did you catch The Horst Saiger upload ALL IN THIS IS ROAD RACING ....on the Macau GP ? been a sad year for road racing

    • @NextApex
      @NextApex 5 лет назад +2

      Hi Tony! No, unfortunately. The Manx now has an upper age limit that I'm now beyond. I submitted an entry to the Classic TT but didn't make the cut to that either. It was disappointing but I got to fulfill a huge dream this year by doing two Irish road races, and it was just an amazing experience. Haven't seen All In yet but will definitely check it out, thank you. Yes, what a terribly sad year it's been. Dan Kneen and William Dunlop were two of our circuit guides for our newcomers' laps at Tandragee, so to see both of them lose their lives shortly after is still something I'm trying to come to grips with. I was honoured to have been in their presence and witness their amazing talents while they were with us.

    i loved those scout kids, such a way of thinking, not everything need to be digitized. This is the best tradition that is alive around the world no superior no inferior everything they do is with love and passion. some bits gave teary eyes too like that old man at gate talking about retirement and patting on last time for some riders, and that man with daughters letter.
    RIP to all those beautiful souls .

    I've lost count of the number of times I've sat in the grandstand, watching the scouts hard at work on the scoreboard opposite. I've also lost count of the number of times I've worried about the future of racing in the Isle of Man, but having watched this I think that with people like Izzy involved its future is, if not assured, certainly a lot better than it might have been.
    I can also imagine Izzy, with her attitude, becoming an extremely good Clerk of the Course some time in the future.
    PS. I wear a Shoei, but thank you Arai for sponsoring this film!

    Probably the most genuine and honest short documentary about the Road Racing. The atmosphere is so authentic, relaxed. Makes you feel like you are back on the Island, talking to the characters. I know some of them personally. Makes me miss the Island so much.

    I'm a car enthusiast. ridden a bike only twice in my life. Owned a 125cc pit bike when I was 15-17. And I rode a CBR600R when I was 27, and man I haven't stopped thinking about it since. And now I have been binge watching TT documentaries for the last week, and just a few hours ago I contacted someone to trade my wifes Subaru Legacy GT for a GSX-R 600 (yes, she said yes! 🙃 ) *but now I owe her a Tacoma TRD OR 🤣😅. TT has impacted my life, and I couldn't even tell you where it is on the map. Such a beauty and absolute soul about it. So romantic. I'm literally getting a fuckin' bike because I can't stop watching these 😂

    Very nice film...I grew up on mini bikes and mini cycles and then enduro dirt bikes, then motocross then flat track then road race and ended up racing at Daytona in '75 on a TZ-250 B and earned AMA Expert licenses in two classes all while I was still in H.S. Then off to Engineering College and a long career. In my younger days I wanted to buy another road race bike and give the TT a go and made some detailed plans several times but never pulled the trigger and then marriage and kids and increasing responsibilities at work and before I knew it my racing days had passed. I've done pretty much everything I set out in life to do but the TT evaded me. Great respect for the young men who risk their lives there...it is a fantastic race and obviously a very beautiful municipality too.

    Just ran into this video but I must whole heartedly thank all of the folks at Arai for saving my life when I was 14. I grew up on dirt bikes. I liked riding without a helmet. One day my father caught me riding without a helmet and yelled at me
    I put it on then. About 4 miles from home there is a limestone rock field that I had crossed 100+ times without a helmet. This time however I stalled upon the top of a boulder. When i put my feet down there was only air underneath my feet. Then i fell over and my helmet met the next boulder over. I picked up my bike and continued riding. It wasn’t until I got home and took my lid off that i realized that there was a fist sized hole in the side of my helmet. My skull I’m sure would have been crushed.

    Was there this year, apart from the spectacular racing the island is stunning. The sea is majestic, its like you are looking at glass. Absolutely amazing.

    I’m glad I watched this ! One day I will go to watch .. I’m in the midlands! What time of the year does this take place ..? I’m just so amazed to just see the logic behind it with the Manual scorecards and bringing people just together ! Well done 👍🏼 I think England can learn from this !! 👏🏼👌🏼
