I call that a success! And damn that last clip shows that it RIPS!!!

Thanks man ! I agree... success. Now onto bigger and better things, haha. (more tinkering).
I was worried that, to the average person, the last clip would seem slow... camera angles and whatnot, but yeah, it rips. While I had the camera set up like that I did a few acceleration runs away from the camera from almost a dead stop, and to me, that's even more impressive... Next video.

Nice 👍 I am glad you had a successful ride. It sounded great on that run across the lake to find your sunglasses. Also congratulations on selling the mini 👍

I know that I replied to this, but my comment is nowhere to be found.
It did sound pretty good skipping across the top of that chop. I feel like the footage made it seem way less exciting than it was. The waves were pretty aggressive and it was pretty gnarly skipping over them, haha. Near the end, at one point I was just letting off the throttle and got airborne for a few seconds. Probably should have used a different camera angle.
The Mini being gone is kinda sad, but also a huge relief not to have it taunting me like "yeah, you're never going to finish me, are you LOOSER" lol... It's nice to have the extra space !

Thanks!! I agree... It sounds gnarly when it's skipping across the top of the waves... The footage doesn't really do it justice on how intense it is skipping over the tops of waves on a ski pulling that hard that weighs so little.

Epic run!!! Always nice to have a blast validating a build or new parts and also spend time with friends without having to be towed back in!!!! Great video Joel also great work recently with the whole rebuilding of the 1100. I know that was unexpected but you handled it like anyone who knows the risks of the game would. You are making me want to drop an 1100 in my X2 so badly hahahahahahahah

It's a pretty rare occasion that I don't have any major issues... or at least it seems that way, haha. Thanks for the comment !! I was sure that I responded to this days ago, but can't see my reply 🤷‍♂️.
This isn't the hardest swap every, but a 750 or 800 are probably the more wise choice 😂 if you can consider that wise... The 1100 isn't actually that bad as it does bolt up to a 650, 750, 800 bedplate. You have to mod a few things to get it to fit in there, but it's not too bad.
The thing that really does it for me is the sound of this engine !! That triple sound is music. I know that I'm going to enjoy the Krash, but I'll miss that triple sound !

      @@bmxbarron Right on ! Working... yes... that's a thing.
I've been wanting to do a 148 pump swap since before I swapped in the 1100, but there's always something else to do, and how that jacob gave me a MAG pump, I will likely be using that on the second X2 ... Mine currently has a 750 pump. It feels really inefficient at full speed... there's a lot of vibration and noise. Probably cavitation. Maybe I will get to it someday.

I was actually wondering that... who is going to geo locate the area now, just because I said it was secret, lol.
It is an experience for sure... It so much fun for me to watch other people ride it... I was telling your son, it makes it all worthwhile. The whole time I'm smiling and gitty. It's a foolish contraption.
I was also noticing the biffing into the water and thought "anyone who rode / rides a 550 will get it, and it's impossible to explain to anyone who hasn't... It's like riding a unicycle... regardless of how good you get at it, now and then you will just biff for no apparent reason, lol.

I'd really suggest using anti seize over locktite. I've seen post after post that "I've locktite'd my bolts X amount of times and they still come loose". I've been using anti seize since I started 6 years ago and have no had one bolt come loose. I use it on almost all bolts for the skis since I feel like it helps with corrosion as well.

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  Год назад +1

Yeah, I use anti seize on almost everything on my engine and exhaust... The only place where I have used loctite is on the rear chamber support bolt. This worked well for me all last season, but it makes it a pain in the ass to remove the bolt, so I decided to put it in dry this time, and it worked loose.
