Brian, I'm working on reviving my channel. I work a day job so that takes away from a long of my time. But in September, I started a new series called 10 Things You Didn't Know About Classic Hip-Hop Albums. My first 3 videos in that series have been doing better than any of the videos that I've done all year. I'll be continuing with this series into 2024.
Brian, the algorithm has evolved. You are wasting your valuable time right now with what you are trying to do in my opinion. You can honestly turn this thing around much quicker than u think. I decided to restart my dead channel, I stripped everything clean albeit a few good performing vids, and after a much needed break, I’ve put it back into service, now, I’m starting off with my worst bunch, and then progress to the better quality stuff, but even though the crappy vids I’ve put up are, well, crap in quality, they actually did well for something that looks really poor, but I’ve added some storytelling, which could be the reason, but I’ll never know. But anyways I’m confident I’m on the right track now that I have a better idea of what the audience wants, and I’m going to be changing the way I do my content so that I’m not like the others in the art niche, got something big in the works, anyways cheers for another great video, again, it’s what I needed, cheers Brian 😊

My little videos that show up on search are the ones that have kept my own channel alive while I've been out of the loop. Life is very tough but you need to have the yin and the yang, the sunrise and the sunset. The good and the bad. It develops a balance in our lives. Just like some videos do better than others.

My channel is really struggling. Some health issues slowed my momentum and now I can't get it back up. It's anature based channel that has species highlights and amazing secrets about things right under people's noses, so that is not a popular theme. I WON"T exploit or stress animals by urging them to bite or sting me, so I have no idea how to bounce back. I want to hire help to take a deep look into my channel and what I can do.

Some kind of do pretty well and others....take time or just fizzle. lol. It's tricky becuase I try to focus on training naturalists and supplementing my in person teaching. Peeps sometimes book private nature walks with me and often ask me to make a video on each species. Not easy, sometimes! thanks, Brian!

In truth, compared to other channels … in my niche, that have been uploading for more than say six years. My numbers are fair, not great, not bad. I think it’s easy. I think it’s typical, that viewers have a perception of what view should look like on a large channel. But often times those viewers haven’t ever reached “large channel status”. And this is the rub. Regardless, I’m gonna do my best to stay true to myself, and focus on creating videos that I’m proud of. Videos that are designed to help people who wanna hear/thanks my friend appreciate you

Shorts can be useful for sure. What I would focus on is the type of content you love the most. Driving to create your best work. And then create a content strategy around that. For example, I focus on longform, but I publish shorts using opus clip.

keep it simple, follow basic tips you’ve prob heard before such as: - have a niche - publish regularly - strive to focus on what’s most important to viewers such as audio, editing, story and more.

And at the same time I think it’s important that we’re honest with ourselves. Let me ask you are there channels that focus on things like horoscopes and readings and what not tarot cards that have more views than you. For the last 3-4 weeks I’ve been on my RUclips channel very consistently again. It’s frustrating because I’m only getting 8-28 views. My impressions are high but not many people are clicking on. I’m going to keep going but it does get frustrating
youtube is BRUTALLY hard. most don’t make it. Do what you can to focus forward and think long term. mindset / motivation … that kind of things is REALLY hard. Channels in this space that focus on how huge celebrities in that space made it … thrive.

It's great seeing it's possible to revive a dead channel but unfortunately it's not 100% "it's possible no matter what". It's more like depending on the niche and practicing what yt advice channels like yours advise. I'd advise people not to go the hottest topic in their niche route though. Liike two weeks ago gamers were talking about the GTA 6 trailer. My channel is about the Sims. So you can see how a video on GTA 6 would fail. Even if it's connected to Sims. Before anyone asks how, I follow someone who made the GTA 6 trailer in Sims. Also whether reviving a dead channel or actively uploading right now people need to remember not to think "I expect X number of views, and X watch time." You're just pissing yourself off. The person who made the GTA 6 trailer in Sims expected the video the blow up because no one was doing it. Not even a day later they're arguing the YT algorithm is broken, doesn't give videos a chance with the rule that watch time is what gets the video around YT. 🤷♀️ Anyway, my long comment adding to this. So glad you're channel is doing well.
nothing in life is guaranteed, however … when you have a bone to pick. When you are determined, when you want to win … badly enough …. that’s what I am focused on.
follow my advice, and focus on what matters to viewers my friend. story, message, teaching, entertainment … and. more … you can get there. won’t be easy… will be worth it.

It's a little more to it than this that's why all apos collect your data to find out exactly who you are then put blockers on your views unless you pay... You might get a couple hundred views then lose interest in taking 10 years to build a channel and barley reach 100k subscribers...
