Martin, your December run streak is epic! Dodging puddles and ice like a pro, and those Arctic claws are next level! ❄ Love how you're mixing things up with the gym and walks. Can't wait to hear about your upcoming marathons. Keep rocking it, my friend! #WinterWarrior
Thanks Mihai, it was good to get such a consistent month of running in, now it's time to mix the training up a bit & get more distance in for the marathon training 😀
Should be called the Two Lochs and 400 puddles Trail! Can't help but remember the times when any run was too much for you, and now you're smashing out a full month's worth. Massive kudos mate. I'd be having a recovery break around this point too. 👍🏻💪
Cheers Mark, I do feel like I've come a long way, it's just taken a lot longer than I'd ever have imagined! I'm enjoying that recovery day today, I think my body will thank me for it 😁
Beautiful runs through the winter wonderland in Scotland. Love the drone shots and "skating" technique! Good luck with your continued training and I look forward to hearing about your half and full marathon races!
Kudos to you and Jake for making the most of that tough day on Sat. Beautiful run shots on the following Sat. Love the goal of 5 runs a week. I can totally relate on the tech front, I can't tell you how many times I thought I was recording video and it ended up being in timelapse mode, lol. Good luck in your upcoming races Martin!
Nice to have met you in Aviemore over the Christmas break. Looking forward to trying out a few runs in the forests soon! Until then I plod away in Stratford Upon Avon. :D
Well done. Its really tough this time of year with the cold dark and mud. Nice ti see some snow and ice. Mud mud mud here in Saddleworth at the moment. Good luck with the races.
Thanks, I don't mind the snow now & again, but I am looking forward to Spring & it's only just January 🤣 Hopefully your mud dries up soon enough but that could be wishful thinking!
Great stuff, Martin. The forrest looks amazing in the snow. 5 runs a week sounds like a great plan. I know that feeling when you stop to shoot film but forget to stop the watch. 😂🙈
Thanks Neil, I'm looking forward to the 5 runs a week, it's a good feeling to be starting the year with my current fitness. A lot of the time I don't bother stopping the watch but when I do, you can be sure I forget to start it again 🤣
Thanks Ben, it does feel nice to be able to run consistently & I did learn a few things about managing my runs to be able to do the full month (well 33 days) 😀 Happy New Year to you & the family as well Ben 👋
Martin, happy New Year and all the best for 2024. Beautiful trail footage and love the different perspectives incl. the drone footage. We haven't had any snow yet in the Northeast US. Good luck to Jake on his final university year and PhD applications! Congrats on completing the December marcothon.
Thanks Reto, I'm surprised you haven't had snow yet, is that normal for this time of year? I'm sure things will work out for Jake, it's just pretty hectic for him at the moment 👍
@@TheDeterminedRunner Global warming? I think it's the gulfstreams bringing warm air, we've had so much rain, and with colder weather, we'd probably have several feet of snow.
Thanks Don, running each day was a good challenge I'd not done before. You are right about the 1/2 marathon, the video came out yesterday (a top day out) 😀
Very beautiful runs Martin. Are you in Scotland or just very far north England? I have never ran in spikes but have thought about a snowshoe race awhile back when I was living in California. A road marathon has been my idea as well later this year. I did a road 50K a few years ago. Have a great week
Thanks Richard, I'm in Scotland (in the Highlands). Spikes work well in certain conditions but I do try to get by without them if I can. Fingers crossed you get to run the road marathon later this year 🤞
Great finish Martin. Even with one month like that, it’s easy to see where your channel got its name from. Your channel was never called, “sitting on the couch and thinking about it runner”. Curious, did you have a body weigh in before and after the 31 days? Not that you would want to lose weight, I’m just wondering if it was difficult to maintain it. Wayne
Thanks Wayne, The closest weight info I have is 24th Nov 72.6kg & 1st Jan 73.5kg, I'm happy enough with that seeing as though I ate like a horse over Christmas 🎅
Determined by name, determined by nature!
Thanks Richie 😀

Thanks Thomas, though the skating was a quick make it up before you fall over technique 🤣
Good luck with those races, I’m looking forward to hearing about them.
Thanks Emma, it's a nice feeling to enter events again 😀
Sounds like a wonderful month of running. Best wishes with your upcoming races.
Thanks Brian 😀

Thanks Sage, that wet run was memorable shall we say 🤣 A week to go before the 1/2, I don't think it'll be a quick one, but hopefully satisfying 😀

Great to meet you Rob, hopefully you get some trail runs in soon & next time you're up, we'll try & get a run in 👍
Happy New Year and well done! Best Wishes Jono & Harry
Thanks guys, Happy New Year 🥳
Great stuff, Martin! You can't beat consistency.
Thanks Jay, that's been 2 days off now, so back to consistent training from tomorrow 😀

Good job keeping up you month challenge. I hope the half went well or goes well. I think it's bout two weeks since your video.
